View 6 Replies View RelatedMy windows got corrupted, so I had to reinstall it, and I was trying to grab the drivers from the support page

However, once I select the operating system, it gives the loading symbol and never moves forward. I've waited a half hour to no effect. I tried looking up other laptops and their driver pages loaded immediately, so I don't believe it's on my end. Is there a problem with the page?

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhere has the driver download page gone for the HP Envy 15 j 151sa notebook ? I was on the page only 2 weeks ago and its not there anymore. I have selected the appropriate country and even entered the serial number but still nothing!
My notebook:
HP Envy 15 j 151
Windows 8.1 64-Bit
Purchased in Ireland
My laptop was beginning to slow down so I've done a reinstall of windows and wiped my SSD clean (I replaced the original HDD with an SSD a while back).
Because of this I've not got a backup partition containing my drivers.
My fingerprint sensor has stopped working. It says an error has occured whenever I try to use it even though my fingerprint was saved in my user accounts as a sign in option.
Where do I get the driver for this?
Also, I now no longer have HP Recovery Manager that had all of the drivers. Where can I download this?
PS. I've downloaded all the drivers on the HP website associated with my laptop here Laptop Drivers
These are the only two things that no longer work and it would be handy to get them sorted.
I need to download the Recovery Manager for windows 8, my laptop is the HP TouchSmart 15-b130eaI had to replace the HDD and install windows 8, since doing this i have now managed to sort out the original HDD and found that the recovery partition is still intact with all the files needed to do a full Factory Restore, sadly i canot do this, unless i can download the RM for windows 8?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a HP envy 17 2090eo 3D. The pc came with pre-installed Tridef software on the harddrive. I choose to switch one of the HDD to a SSD drive for the OS to gain faster loading time.
Now I cant seem to find a download link for the Triforce software. I only found a trial which is now done. i also found some software on the Triforce site, which checked to see if I had a HP envy, but It told me that I did not have a HP envy system (probably because of the HDD change).
Is there anything I can do to get the Triforce software again?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI attempted to upgrade my Win 8.1 ENVY DV7-7230US laptop to Win 8.1 via the App store. It said I had to clear all the updates first. So I went the System Updates Screen. When I clicked on it to see what updates were needed. The circling wait symbol appeared and never went away. I can not do any system updates, thus I can not download and install the FREE Win8.1 upgrade.

According to this driver site for 1645, most of the drivers are all up-to-date. Could I apply updates for my XPS 1640 here ?
I know this has been mentioned some times at the forum - but all the links i have found are "dead".

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Touchsmart 15-j040us notebook that is now a little over a year old (now out of warranty). My laptop has been asking to upgrade to Windows 8.1 since the first week or two after I purchased the system brand new.
The update downloads just fine and begins the install but fails every time when it is trying to install the different devices. At that point the screen goes black, the laptop reboots and I get an error message saying that update did not work and that the system has been restored to its previous condition.
After working through HP tech support, including sending the laptop to them to reimage, I am still unable to perform the update, which means my laptop is incapable of running the apps and programs that HP says my laptop is ready to run.
I am fairly confident that the issue is the Nvidia video driver. The currently supported version (version 9.xxx) of the driver is not compatible with 8.1. HP has a driver listed that is compatible with 8.1 (version 10.xxx), but I can't download it until my laptop is running 8.1. Nvidia has posted on the site a driver that is compatible with both operating systems, but I can't seem to download and install it so that I can perform the update. How to download the driver from Nvidia so that I can perform this update?
I've just completed a full clean install of Win 7 on my Dell Studio (1737) laptop. I can't seem to find the correct fingerprint driver to download. I'm using win 7 x64.I can see the AuthenTec Inc. AES2810 Driver under device manager and it says it's working.I have the digital persona software installed and it tells me the fingerprint reader is not installed or can't be detected.
View 15 Replies View RelatedI am working on an Envy Pro 4-b000. The hard drive has failed. I have a replacement drive on the way, but I did not create a recovery disk when the laptop was purchased. It had windows 7 - 64 bit on it previously. What are my options to getting recovery media for this laptop?
View 1 Replies View Relatedthru HP tech support tried to recover my notebook with no success. instructed to purchase recovery dvd's (they don't offer a usb flash option and I have no internal dvd). they told me to find an external drive so I purchased an HP. they told me to:
- restart my machine with dvd#1 in place and tap F9 to get to boot device order to USB CD/DVD ROM drive
- windows starts loading files
- I can hear the writer spinning up
- recieve an error "boot disc cannot be found", press any key to continue
- windows starts loading files and atempts to start
- restoration incomplete, hit retry
- cycle repeats
HP support said to tap any key as window tries to load - no luck
When I get to the HP Recovery Manager - I've tried System Recovery and Minimized Image recovery - same results
My question is - can my system load from the external DVD drive if it was never activated (ie drivers) thru windows? Can it be done outside of windows? Seems like it can't read from the disc
Can my recovery discs be copied/transferred to a USB flash drive to avoid the external drive completely?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a HP ENVY 17-j053ea which I had to purchase recovery discs for. I used the recovery discs several times following different instructions and using different BIOS settings, and have been in 3 different chats with HP but I am still getting an error message. In the final chat HP told me that I should take the laptop back to the retailer who should repair/replace it for me and if they don't then to contact HP over chat again.
The error message is a dialog box with a black background titled 'Recovery Manager' and the message says 'The recovery attempt has failed. Select one of the following buttons:' where the buttons are 'Save Log', 'Details' and 'Retry'. If I click on 'Retry' it prompts me to insert disc 1 again, (at the stage of recieving this error message both discs have already been used) and if I click on 'Details' a file named 'CTOERROR.flg' opens in Notepad and contains the following text:
ChkErrBB.CMD : Detect some error during PININST_BBV.ChkErrBB.CMD : Check c:system.savlogsBurnBootWarn.logChkErrBB.CMD : or, check c:system.savlogsBurnBootMerge.log

I was having few problems with my computer so using HP Recovery Media Creation I created a USB recovery Key, after using it I was able to factory reset everything but now my windows in not activated, I spoke to Microsoft but they told me to speak to HP about this matter, I am soo confused now
I also decided to update to windows 8.1 to see if it solves any probelm as thats what I had before the factory reset but it is still the same and on the desktop there is a small message which says "Windows 8.1 Build 9600"
I have an HP ENVY dv7 Notebook. When the computer was new I tried to make a recovery disc set. When finished I would check the discs ( DVD - R ) I would get a message saying the discs did not write correctly. Tried discs from three different packs, still the same. Called HP Support and they went through the procedure with me, still the same fail. I was told me not to worry if I ever had to have the discs because of a crash they would send them to me for free as they have a record. Now I will be using this computer mainly on the internet and think I should have the discs just in case. Called HP and was told no record, no free discs and it will cost a lot to make the discs. Is there any way to make discs or put the info on a hard drive? I do not know if the computer thinks I made a copy or not since the copies I thought I was making were defective.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently had an issue with my HP ENVY TS 15 and from using the support chat in the HP Support Assisant I was advised to do a system recovery.
This has failed and I am now stuck in a loop!
Basically, friend bought the laptop and got viruses on it. I went and reformatted the hard drive and installed Windows 8.1 and have no way to activate it now as there is no license key sticker anywhere to be found.
Is there any way to activate Windows point without buying another retail copy of Windows 8? Seems ridiculous that they would move to this method of having a SLIC BIOS with an inserted key that you can't activate off of.
