View 1 RepliesUntil recently my Aspire M3802 desktop started immediately when the start button was pressed. For about a week it's been taking an increasing number of minutes before the the LED turns blue; today it was over ten. What is the likely problem? If accumulated dust how can I remove it? If not dust, what can I do?
View 3 Replies View RelatedSo I got this laptop 3 weeks ago, it would take 10 seconds to boot. now it takes like 2 minutes, all i did was change my anti-virus. i just finished a system restore, but still the same speed. im starting to think its a hardware problem, but all the diagnosis test show no results.
View 3 Replies View Relatedhow to take the screen off from an acer aspire 1694? I know that it's identical to this one,

but that instruction doesn't tell how to remove it. I'd really appreciate some help on this subject.
Here's a picture that illustrates where I'm stuck :
My laptop freezes after about 5-10 minutes of use. Idk why. I'm getting the free windows 7 upgrade from Acer; but I really would like to be able to fix this before I just upgrade. I made a new account, I have two on my computer (besides guest) now. All administrator; but watch the videos to see the results.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have a problem with my laptop (Acer Aspire 5741G).It´s a couple of years old and the battery stopped working a year back and after that I need to use the power cable.Earlier the laptop got really hot sometimes and shut itself down.I have cleaned it inside (I took the laptop apart) and also changed to a SSD drive.
After that it worked better for a while but now the same thing have happened again but there are some differences from earlier. IT´S WORSE.
1. The laptop doesn´t get hot. It´s almost cold..... I downloaded a program to see the status of the computer and from it I could read from the sensor data that the temperature is between 30-40degC (CPU usage is as low as 0-4% if I just leave it).
2. The fan starts directly when I start the computer and goes on 100% all the time (even if I don´t do anything).
3. After 3-4 minutes the laptop shut itself down. Even if I go into the BIOS at start-up and just leave it.
4. I have cleaned it again and everything but the same thing happens after I have mount it together again.
What´s wrong? Can it be the power cable (AC adapter)? But why does the fan behave like this?
I have an Acer Aspire 5920 Intel Core 2 Duo T5750 Processor (2 GHz, 667MHz, 2MB Cache) 3 GB Memory 160 GB Hard Drive Windows Vista Home Premium.
I bought it 4/5 weeks ago, and it has worked perfectly fine. (as it should)
Now when i turn it on after a minute or so everything will become non-responsive and it will crash,
this all started when I first purchased my laptop (Aspire V3-572G-54S6, Windows 8.1) when it was on sale for a great price in mid-August. I had heard great things about Acer, loved the specs and look, and was excited to get it. It arrived a few days later, took it out of the box and with the first start up my display was messed up. About 1/4 up the screen tear a little and the top of the screen was being duplicated at the bottom........never had that happen before so I got in touch with Acer support chat, I updated video drivers, rebooted, did a complete power drain, etc. The problem persisted so they had me send it in for servicing. I got it back from servicing just about 2 weeks ago, and it was fixed! Or at least it was until this past Wednesday when the problem returned. Now the problem only occurs when I've had it on for 30minutes to 1 hour, as it is fine on start up. The service log/sheet I got back with it said all they did was software updates, updated BIOS, and nothing hardware related.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have only had my acer aspire v3 771g 6814 for about 18 months. recently it has been shutting down afer 5 minutes. I took it to a technician and he said it's not a fan problem because the processor isn't over heating. so is there a way to fix this? I can't send it back because the warranty has expired ....

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a v3 571G laptop core i7 with a geforce 640m video card. Is not the faster video card but can handle advance video games in medium to high. Every time I play any video games, with settings from medium to high, at the beginning the fps are around 34 to 40 but after 10 to 20 min of playing, the fps gets down to 12 to 20 specially when there is explosions and such. Is my laptop video card dying or is something else?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have problem with my Acer 5750g. When I playing games cooler work in passive mode, like it dont know that should work as much as possible.
After 5 minuts without additional cooler it goes overheat to 100 degree and turn off instantly.
When i turn my laptop on, the cooler starting work very good, like it should work all the time when it overheating. But after few secounds its turn into passive/silent mode and doesn't work properly till overheat and turn off again.
I have an Aspire 6930 that suddenly died and will not power on. The LED power button was dark and unresponsive. I performed a power reset and the blue light on the power button came back on until I pressed the button to try to restart the laptop. When I did that, the blue LED immediately went dark and stayed that way until I did another power reset. It never gets to the point of anything powering on. Is it a problem with the battery or it the laptop toast?
This is a real bummer since I just replaced the hard drive a few weeks ago and replaced Windows Vista with Linux Mint (which btw is blazing fast compared to Vista).
Acer 5253 - Will not power on, battery or on AC power. Have tried all the suggested solutions but none have worked. Is it possible to get maintenace instructions (disassembly, where certain items are located, etc)?

My Acer Aspire 5860 is a great laptop.
Other than the power issue I am having.
It is just over a year old ( out of warranty)
It won't power up from the battery ( which is still in good condition, hardy used)
I bought a new battery, just in case ( it is charged and is new)
The battery will charge in the laptop, but won't run from the battery.
A freinds Acer 5050 won't power up. He's has asked me to look at it. When tha AC power is connected there is still no indication of power no lights, No power.
I have tried all the followingRemoved battery & AC power held down start button for 15,20 & 30 seconds and retried
Tried several AC power supplies
Removed memory & Swopped around memory,Swopped memory
Had back off & checked connections (All seem ok)
Non of the above works.
Have me a dead Acer Aspire 3680. My son was using it and it just went black, with no power and no signs of life.
I basically get nothing when I plug in the power and hit the power button. I removed the battery and tested with just the AC adapter. Still no signs of life. No LEDs, etc.
I completely disassembled the beast to see if the power board had the jack still securely attached and it is still fine.
I had the AC adapter tested, so it is fine.
So I guess my question is, how can I verify whether this is a problem with the MB/CPU or if it is a problem with the little power board not delivering power to the motherboard?
I can check for voltage at the battery charge pins. I'm seeing voltage on 3 of the 5 pins. The large one being ground, I'm assuming. Should I see voltage on the remaining 4?
I don't want to replace the MB/CPU and have it be the power board that is the problem, and vice-versa.
I'm having major trouble with my laptop (an Acer Aspire 3660) which is about 2 years old now. I don't know if there is a problem with the internal power socket or something else, but sometimes when it is plugged it just won't run off the mains or charge the battery. Sometimes I can get it to charge up, seemingly by rotating the power cord cable but at other times it will randomly go to battery even though absolutely nothing has moved, and sometimes it will go to battery power with the slightest little nudge. I don't think this could be related to the battery as the battery seems to work fine (although it does drain quickly I guess it's pretty old in laptop terms). Has anyone else had this problem or have any suggestions? I bought a new power cable (completely new including power pack and the plug end) but the problem still happens.
View 5 Replies View Relatedi just replaced my old ac adapter as there was a loose connection and you had to have the wire in a certain place for it to charge. now i just bought a new power adapter plugged it in and all was good for about an hour. then all of a sudden the laptop decided to switch it self to battery power then back to ac power then back to battery. so i was like ok this is strange. its seems to b completley random when it does it. sometimes it will go back to ac power othertimes it will stick on battery so i have take out the connecter and plug it back in and it will charge. i thought of maby taking tha battery out all together but then it just cuts out.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an Aspire 7250-3281 that had been sitting for some time.
I plugged in the AC and after a while the battery indicator went from orange to blue but the laptop will not power on.
Tried a power reset, nothing.
Been plugged in to the charger for about 2 hours now.
This laptop is rarely used, so not sure what could be the problem. This last time, I had inadvertently removed the power block from the wall to plug something else in. Since then it will not power up at all. The blue light comes on but nothing else. I don't hear the drive spinning or anything and screen just stays black. I held power button down for 60 seconds and finally saw normal booting screen and then went back to black screen.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've got an Acer Aspire 5315 and for some reason the laptop has stopped working correctly. The laptop will turn on and work fine when the battery is in, but when I try and charge the battery from the PSU plugged in nothing happens and the battery is starting to drain. I've taken the battery out and tried to power the laptop up but there seems to be no power getting to the laptop. The PSU is showing a green light on the block. I have also been advised that it could be the AC socket on the laptop, but I've now replaced this and its still not working.
I haven't got another PSU. Could there be any other reason why the laptop wont turn on?
My power adapter went bad on my Aspire 3003LCI.
The power adapter has the following
specs.
Input: AC100-240V
Output: DC19V 3.42A
Power: 65W
I purchased a Targus APA10US universal power adapter. Its specs are as follows.
Input: AC100-230V
Output: 15-24V -2A
Power: 65W Max
My Aspire calls for a #14 tip, but that one did not come with the adapter. Can I use another Targus adapter (#3) with a different tip without doing damage to the PC? I have been told that the tip does some type of voltage regulation and adjusts to the settings of the PC.
