Apple :: Compatibility With My Hotmail And Safari
Mar 26, 2009Problems with Safari. This just started a few weeks ago. I keep having compatibility issues with my Hotmail and Safari 3.2.1 (the 4.0 is worse), I can't even open my hotmail messages 4.0. At first I thought it was MSN, so I contacted them. I'm pretty sure it's a browser issue.
It keeps inserting random question mark symbols throughout my outgoing Hotmail messages.
I've tried resetting Safari, deleting cookies... blah blah blah.... done all the updates.
It's annoying. I like Safari, and want to continue using it. I have Firefox and it works fine. Could my computer have a virus?
I have Camino too, but it won't let me put anything in the "subject line" when composing a new hotmail message. Very annoying.

Mar 16, 2009I have a mac book pro with Safari OS..some kind of Hack, secret virus/stroke key etc..and I need help in trying to fix it. I need to be contacted at the hotmail address, as I go to the library to get this uncompromised email. If you write, I will reply with problem in detail as much as I can explain-I am not too computer literate..I DO know who has done it. I guess that is a start..They say they are better than any APPLE hackers, techs, genius bar etc. and cannot be detected..

May 16, 2009Seems I get headaches or at least eye strain from staring at my Mac Book Pros glossy screen all day.
I've always spent way to much time on my LapTops over the years & I know that in its self is not good for your eyes, But it seems that this glossy screen is making it much worse.
I dont remember dealing with this with the Mat ( non-glossy screens ) before.
Might this glossy screen be doing this? Should I get a film for it?

May 30, 2010I installed iStat, Chrome and Safari and I noticed that Safari usually uses less cpu usage than Chrome but I can't tell for sure. When I (used to) use Chrome for pc, I never rememebered cpu usage to go as high as it did with my mbp; but the cpu in my pc was an AMD dual core @ 3.6 ghz so it's kind of hard to compare.
This kind of leads me to believe that Safari may be better for os x than Chrome but I don't know; is it?

Jun 9, 2009i have a SR Macbook pro (late 2007) with OS X 10.4. i hooked it up with Western Digital MyBook Studio 1TB (external USB drive). the drive is correctly partitioned and formatted. using GUID and HFS+, quite often upon connecting, the drive start up, then spun down again imediately. strangely enough, the drive is still connected, the indicator light is still on, and the drive is still mounted under "disk utility", the volume however does not. if that makes sense. should i be worried? anyone else experience this problem? does this indicate that there is a problem with the drive? or a problem with mac os x? - i do have freeagent pro drive before, and it also have trouble with the drive jamming mid file transfer.

1) how much is the maximum capacity of the new battery? I'm getting 5500mAh per full charge... is this correct?
2) "if you intend to keep your laptop plugged for a long time, remove the battery" Ok. So how do I follow this rule if the battery is built-in? ahhahaha!
3) Apple says to recalibrate the battery once a month... but how often is it good to unplug? once a day? once a week?
4) at what percentage should I plug the laptop back in if i'm NOT recalibrating?

Mar 3, 2009I've been using it since the first day and I have to say I like it. Though, as soon as I could I changed the address bar so that it used the original blue progress indicator instead of the stupid spinner. That was a mistake, IMO, getting rid of the blue progress indicator. Thankfully you can edit the preferences file to get it back.

Feb 4, 2009I've been having major problems browsing the internet lately. Safari won't stay open for more than 2 minutes without crashing and Firefox will half the time not format web pages correctly. For example, as I'm typing this in FF right now, in my tool bar up above this text box I have the boxes with bold, italics and underline options showing, but I can't select them. Even worse, the rest of where boxes should be just have text, for example it says Align Left, Align Center and Align Right instead of having selectable boxes. What is up with my browsers?
