I've been using it since the first day and I have to say I like it. Though, as soon as I could I changed the address bar so that it used the original blue progress indicator instead of the stupid spinner. That was a mistake, IMO, getting rid of the blue progress indicator. Thankfully you can edit the preferences file to get it back.
View 6 Repliesit's just stuck there, the blue progress bar doesn't show up, I tried pressing f8 but nothing appears. I have also tried draining the battery and recharging then rebooting but nothing happened. It is completely unresponsive. It used to work just fine, just last night I've been playing games and it was working smoothly. But when I woke up and booted up my laptop, nothing was working. By the way, what's the small button underneath the laptop, I think it is the master reset button, because my brother was thinking of pressing it.

Issue: I get a black screen permanently now. When connected to wall battery indicator is blue, I touch the power button, power indicator turns blue for 7 seconds then turns off. Nothing happens. Screen doesn't power, can't hear any fans, etc. Same issue when not connected to wall.
There was a BIOS update version 2.04 which fixed a problem "2. Revise system can't boot when "Exit Discarding Changes" was selected in BIOS menu." I believe that's my issue.
Is there any recovery method that can be done at home to get it out of this state?

Another user suggested sending in the laptop to have the EPROM replaced but never said why or if it fixed it.
Tried:
pinhole button to reset the system
removed battery, hard drive
looked for crimped wires in hinge going to screen
So if you guys have downloaded Safari 4, as I have, you'll notice there's a new function called "Top Sites".
Is there some way to set your homepage to the Top Sites? I can't figure it out.
If so then is it worth adding to Safari 4 beta? [url]

View 10 Replies View RelatedI installed iStat, Chrome and Safari and I noticed that Safari usually uses less cpu usage than Chrome but I can't tell for sure. When I (used to) use Chrome for pc, I never rememebered cpu usage to go as high as it did with my mbp; but the cpu in my pc was an AMD dual core @ 3.6 ghz so it's kind of hard to compare.
This kind of leads me to believe that Safari may be better for os x than Chrome but I don't know; is it?
i deleted the app and now using safari4beta and firefox instead, didn't bothered with installing it again before i know what is wrong and how to fix it, i've checked with the system monitor and safari3 was program responsible.

Problems with Safari. This just started a few weeks ago. I keep having compatibility issues with my Hotmail and Safari 3.2.1 (the 4.0 is worse), I can't even open my hotmail messages 4.0. At first I thought it was MSN, so I contacted them. I'm pretty sure it's a browser issue.
It keeps inserting random question mark symbols throughout my outgoing Hotmail messages.
I've tried resetting Safari, deleting cookies... blah blah blah.... done all the updates.
It's annoying. I like Safari, and want to continue using it. I have Firefox and it works fine. Could my computer have a virus?
I have Camino too, but it won't let me put anything in the "subject line" when composing a new hotmail message. Very annoying.
safari does not let me logon to "t-mobile" for my account but it lets me logon to AT&T, bank of america, NYCB,TD banking, and all other sites "WHY" does anyone else have this problem with T-mobile site ?

I've been having major problems browsing the internet lately. Safari won't stay open for more than 2 minutes without crashing and Firefox will half the time not format web pages correctly. For example, as I'm typing this in FF right now, in my tool bar up above this text box I have the boxes with bold, italics and underline options showing, but I can't select them. Even worse, the rest of where boxes should be just have text, for example it says Align Left, Align Center and Align Right instead of having selectable boxes. What is up with my browsers?

What is going on here and would Chrome resolve these issues? Yes I know I could try out Chrome for myself but I alone am not a good enough sample size for the question I'm asking.
At any rate, why does Firefox handle flash much better than Safari on OS X?

I specifically told Safari to save them on the desktop but they don't appear at all, nil result comes up while searching for them.
i've just purchased a 2.0GHZ aluminum macbook recently and am having a small problem with it. The macbooks battery percentage indicator seems to be dropping a percentage point every couple of days even though i'm on mains power? The power adaptor LED is green idicating the computer is fully charged. I've calibrated the battery as apple recommended but its still doing it. The apple tech guy said that it is possibly a 'power board' problem rather than a battery fault and it will need changing. Has anybody else experienced this problem? Other than this small problem the macbook is fantastic, should have coverted over from a pc years ago

Is there any way that when i click clear downloads in the safari downloads window that the actual downloads will be deleted to. Like in firefox if you remove the downloads from the dl window it will remove the actual dl from wherever your default dl folder is.

When using Safari it asks for me to use the login keychain every few pages. This confuses me as I never set it up in the first place. Also it asks for me to use the login keychain everytime I launch Skype which is a pain in the . The only cause of this I can think of is that my IT department at college thought it would be clever to set up a login keychain before they handed my Macbook over to me and not tell me the password. I've tried my main password to log into my Macbook and its keeps saying the password is invalid. not a massive problem but still would like to get to the bottom of it.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am using Dell Insipron 15R 5520 Laptop Windows 7. Last few days I am getting a long beep sound after I pressed the power button and the Dell progress bar loads. And if I press power button, its turning off. Later I've pressed F8 key to login in Wiindows Normal Mode, its opening Windows. So every time i've to press F8 key to login. Sometimes the beep sound continues and not logging in normal mode or in Safe mode.
I thought it might be RAM issue and I checked 'System Settings' in Control Panel, it shows the usable RAM is 2.77GB of 8GB.
I went to Dell laptop service center near by my location and they said its keyboard problem, they charging too much amount to replace keyboard. but my keyboard is working properly.
I just bought a race game for my new Mac Book Pro 15.
& starting thinking how much better it would be with a game controler..
I know Mac sells game controllers similar to the play station ones.
Then I realized that my Play Station controller is a blue tooth...
Might it mate with my Mac?

Knowing Mac I doubt it..
