Downloaded Safari 4b and installed it on a Windows machine ( running Win 2008 Server), everything is running fine except the downloaded files are no where to be found anywhere!
I specifically told Safari to save them on the desktop but they don't appear at all, nil result comes up while searching for them.
Decided I wanted to try out Windows 7 on my mac. I downloaded it, but can't seem to get it to install. Bootcamp says I need an installation dvd which I don't have...
I have roxio toast titanium 8 and that is about it.
I am running Windows XP on my mac via Fusion. If I download files in Windows XP, can I access those files in OSX?

View 10 Replies View RelatedI installed iStat, Chrome and Safari and I noticed that Safari usually uses less cpu usage than Chrome but I can't tell for sure. When I (used to) use Chrome for pc, I never rememebered cpu usage to go as high as it did with my mbp; but the cpu in my pc was an AMD dual core @ 3.6 ghz so it's kind of hard to compare.
This kind of leads me to believe that Safari may be better for os x than Chrome but I don't know; is it?
i deleted the app and now using safari4beta and firefox instead, didn't bothered with installing it again before i know what is wrong and how to fix it, i've checked with the system monitor and safari3 was program responsible.

Usally when you start a new browser it ask you if you want to import any thing. But Safari 4 didn't. If I can't do this I will not switch, witch suck because I hear it's good.

Problems with Safari. This just started a few weeks ago. I keep having compatibility issues with my Hotmail and Safari 3.2.1 (the 4.0 is worse), I can't even open my hotmail messages 4.0. At first I thought it was MSN, so I contacted them. I'm pretty sure it's a browser issue.
It keeps inserting random question mark symbols throughout my outgoing Hotmail messages.
I've tried resetting Safari, deleting cookies... blah blah blah.... done all the updates.
It's annoying. I like Safari, and want to continue using it. I have Firefox and it works fine. Could my computer have a virus?
I have Camino too, but it won't let me put anything in the "subject line" when composing a new hotmail message. Very annoying.
safari does not let me logon to "t-mobile" for my account but it lets me logon to AT&T, bank of america, NYCB,TD banking, and all other sites "WHY" does anyone else have this problem with T-mobile site ?

Though, as soon as I could I changed the address bar so that it used the original blue progress indicator instead of the stupid spinner. That was a mistake, IMO, getting rid of the blue progress indicator. Thankfully you can edit the preferences file to get it back.

I've been having major problems browsing the internet lately. Safari won't stay open for more than 2 minutes without crashing and Firefox will half the time not format web pages correctly. For example, as I'm typing this in FF right now, in my tool bar up above this text box I have the boxes with bold, italics and underline options showing, but I can't select them. Even worse, the rest of where boxes should be just have text, for example it says Align Left, Align Center and Align Right instead of having selectable boxes. What is up with my browsers?

What is going on here and would Chrome resolve these issues? Yes I know I could try out Chrome for myself but I alone am not a good enough sample size for the question I'm asking.
At any rate, why does Firefox handle flash much better than Safari on OS X?

the windows xp is a desktop with a router configured and the laptop configured to use the router for wireless access...

I' ve been using a pc forever. Looking at a Macbook Pro 13" or smaller. How easy is it to transfer files from a pc to mac? I use ACT for contract tracking software and want to use it on the new MAC as well. I have word docs. I get files sent to me in word too.

Then i realized it still was somewhat on the computer. So i manually deleted it folder off the harddrive. However there are 4 files it cant delete because they are in use , and when i right click on a rar file it still says "extract with winrar - windows xp pro 2- vm ware fusion" It's getting annoying.

The reason I ask is because I just got a hard drive that I formatted in MS DOS FAT (so that Windows and Mac can read the drive).
I am unable to boot into the OS, so I am going to format my drive and re install the OS. But, before I do that I have some files that I need to get off from my Music and Pictures folder. I have the latest OS X, so how can I get these off. I have an external hard drive so the only part left is getting to the files.
