I've searched the forums for another link to 7900GSX.iso (cdrom image for doing the "7900GSX" mod), but I can't seem to find a live one. Does anyone have a copy of this file? I'm willing to throw it on rapidshare or something too if someone could give me a copy.

I haven't visited in a long time, not since getting my 9300 a few years back. Since then, the screen has crapped out and is blank. I get nothing.
I have acquired an ibook G4 and an external monitor recently. I need help with these options to be able to either connect the external monitor or be able to transfer files:
1. Connect the external monitor to the dell 9300 with the vga connector. i tried that. i am using an external keyboard for the dell since the dell's keyboard crapped out too.
the external has no 'fn' key, but i read i can use 'scroll lock + f8' to switch to the external monitor. doesn't work. any suggestions on how to switch monitors without being able to see the dell's screen?
2. Firewire. If I cannot get the monitor to work, then I want to try this. I am new to firewire, but i read it is possible to transfer files from the pc to the mac. Is it possible to transfer files though if one screen is blank? Could I see the dell's output on the mac screen somehow .....
I deleted a file, Google search toolbar, After I deleted it, all my files went to ' lnk ' files...
I tried reloading ' windows xp ' but the computer will not let me.
I recently purchased an Inspiron 17R SE and have been trying to move all my files, music, videos, etc. from my old desktop PC.
I've successfully transferred about 750GB of data to my USB3.0 backup drive. When I plug it into my new laptop, it appears fine and I can start copying files from it. However, after about 5 minutes of copying, it stops and the Windows Explorer windows close. If I try again, it copies fine for 5 minutes then everything stops again.
I've tried plugging the drive into different ports but the same problem occurs. I've also tried plugging it into a different PC and I can copy the files no problem.
I have an Inspiron 15R N1150(Core i5 2450m) running the latest A10 'BIOS'My research shows, that the AMI Aptio platfrom is a UEFI based one, but when I cross references photographs of other Aptio BIOS's with mine, I see that I am missing the UEFI Boot option under my boot tab. How am I supposed to go about installing Windows 7 over GPT if I can properly make use of EFI?

i have all the usual codecs installed and i have tried it with wmp and vlc media cetner edition and cant seem to get it to work smoothly
I can't seem to get the .TS files to play properly with the latest K-LITE codec pack and whichever player. Even VLC player does not display it correctly: video is either choppy/jerky or sound crackles/etc.
7900GS/2GB RAM/T7400 on Inspiron 9400. Never had a problem with any other video files, just high def.

I am currently on my dell xps 14z laptop. Ive been having some software issues and I want to reset my computer. I tap f8 like the tutorials say, then I go to repair, state my location and which account to use, but it doesn't have the normal Dell Factory Image Or Dell factory tools for the bottom option. It only has a link to the command prompt window. So how can I factory reset my computer without formatting my hard drive.

I am trying to do a restore on my laptop but when i try to install windows 7 it ask for the driver files. (To install the device driver needed to access your hard drive, insert the installation media containing the driver files and then click okay.) My laptop came with the restore disk but it worked only the first time i had to do a restore. 2nd time i had my mother download a driver on to her flash drive and it worked but recently she lost the flash drive and now we can't find the same driver that worked before.

I have a Dell Inspiron E1505. I just reinstalled XP earlier today and now everything is like new again. Unfortunately, my files and movies from my external hardrive are taking too long to transfer onto my computer.
I did one movie at a time and it's taking like 35 minutes to transfer, when before it only took 3 minutes to transfer. Anyone know why this is happening
I have m170 laptop which has a fried motherboard but the harddrive works, also I need my stuff from this harddrdive like my mp3's, pictures, and videos.
I also have inspiron working 9400 laptop. I wanted to know how can I get back these files and put it in the 9400 harddrive because I cant use the m170 laptop to get it back.
I have windows xp home editon installed on the m170 harddrive, I didnt get a chance to backup these files before the m170 got a fried motherboard. It got fried during when I was still using m170.
I got my E6400 + regular dock few weeks ago.
I'm working with Windows 7 64bit.
When the dock is connected and I'm transfer files from computer in my network to the E6400.. The fan start work at full power and it's very annoying

the processor is T9550 (I'm undervolting the processor)

Now according to my calculation there should be 9.74GB free space on C: but as you can see it's showing only 3.88GB!
I have recenttly purchased a 6930G and am very happy wioth it so far howver I went to play some movies that were in AVI format and all I got was the lines on the Windows Media Player and the sound. Can any one help out here, I was under the understanding that this was a complete Home Thearter package.

Then i realized it still was somewhat on the computer. So i manually deleted it folder off the harddrive. However there are 4 files it cant delete because they are in use , and when i right click on a rar file it still says "extract with winrar - windows xp pro 2- vm ware fusion" It's getting annoying.

The reason I ask is because I just got a hard drive that I formatted in MS DOS FAT (so that Windows and Mac can read the drive).
I am unable to boot into the OS, so I am going to format my drive and re install the OS. But, before I do that I have some files that I need to get off from my Music and Pictures folder. Recently, sometimes when I try to play a video file or open specific programs (so far, photoshop and certain games) the screen turns bizarre colors and then quickly crashes .....
When I try to access my files on one of those file transfer boxes that can be used as an external drive it is impossible to read my files or play the mp3s. I had a password on my account and now that the comp it was on is dead I cannot go back and fix that. The 1525 uses SATA and the 8600 had PATA? i think thats right. But the main thing is I am locked out of my old files and not abe to transfer them.
What can I do? 8600 was xp and 1525 vista of course
I have a one month old Inspiron 15 laptop. The touch pad is very very sensisitive and I am for ever dragging files around unintentionally. From time to time the touchpad seems to do what it wants to do and highlights lots of text.

So I sent my laptop in for repair, comes back they have done a clean install of windows.
I got my laptop back this morning and when i started to transfer my back up files back over i remembered that i forgot to back up my PSD files. Is there any chance of recovering them after a reinstallation of windows? with my knowledge the answer would be no, correct? Hopefully there is some lifesaver out there that knows how to get them back. Awaiting replies and hoping for the best.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a 250Gb Maxtor Harddrive which is 2.5" and formatted as FAT32 (so I'm able to use it on my Mac and work PC), I have roughly 100Gb worth of research documents on there already which I constantly update every fortnight. Just recently I tried to copy some video files onto the harddrive but it doesn't seem to work?
A few problems, it wouldn't copy as the little box always said 'preparing to copy' but never did anything so I kept restarting my Macbook untill it finally would copy and now it has copied over but I don't see the files on the harddrive?
Is there anything I can do? I'm running 10.5.5
