View 14 Replies View RelatedMy warranty has no run out so dell can't actually support me. Whenever I try to use the camera the blue light comes on as if to say that it is working but the picture is just black. When I click to take a picture regardless a box pops up that says "Unable to capture a photo. Please reconnect your camera and try again". But if the camera is integrated how can disconnect it? Have tried reinstalling drivers and even the webcam manager itself but it has not worked.

My webcam stopped working all of a sudden. I have HP ENVY dv6-7258nr Notebook PC with Windows 8. The camera app says "Connect a camera." and the device manager does not show "Imaging Devices". Instead there is "Other Devices" which has a subcategory of "Unknown Devices" with a yellow mark.
I have updated, reinstalled cyberlink youcam drivers, tried system restore (which does not complete saying i have an anti virus open when i don't have any antivirus on my notebook) but nothing works. Scanning for hardware does not bring up any thing. I have also followed the instructions given on hp site and opened the youcam software but it does not detect the camera.

It seems like multiple people in the 1640 thread are having this issue and we seem to be unable to figure this out. Would anyone be able to give us guidance to get the facial recognition software onto our computers after a clean install and also the dell webcam software?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have an Inspiron 1525 with 4gb RAM and 285gb hard drive (158gb free). Processor is 2.17gHz, dual core. Â O/S Vista. Â Up until very recently, it's been running fine. Â But within the last week or two, it has gotten veerrryyy slow. Â The fan seems to be running more often (maybe it's my imagination), and the video is halting even for a simple game of Free Cell. Â I have ccleaner which I run regularly. Â I have also run two different spyware programs and Norton Utilities optimizer.
I just had to replace my desktop computer a few months ago. Â I certainly don't want to have to replace this one too. Â Â
I upgraded to win 8 64bit.the touch pad scroll not working, and I couldnot find the correct driver for alps touch pad for 64bit.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI bought my new latop in October and would like to restore it to it's origional factory settings, however I have been unable to do this as I have been told a number of different actions to try by PC performance and none of them work:Â
First I was told to press f8 on a reboot then select repair my computer so I pressed f8 and there was no option to repair my computer;
Second I was told to restart and press f12 insert a blank dvd and boot using cd/dvd which would create a boot disc which in turn would restore to factory settings, after choosing boot from cd/dvd my laptop just restarts as normal without creating a boot disc;
I was then told to burn recovery (which was on a small drive D:) to disc first then boot from cd/dvd which has no effect again windows starts normally.........
So I had a look around this recovery file and found a setup icon that said factory restore when I clicked on it, I got the message ERROR: the factory image could not be found please reinstall using the operating system media dvd.
I am getting the above msg when trying to use the built-in Web cam for Video or for “picture capture”, i.e. photos.
I removed everything with the Dell camera and reinstalled the “Creative Labs Dell Webcam Manager , 140 mb”. No joy
I also installed from the Dell site "input device drivers"- "Creative labs driver, R2RC1, A04", no joy.
Webcam works fine with Messenger therefor I am cautious to “reinstall/remove, disable” or so the Webcam Device in Device Manager since I don’t want to ruin it further
I did a bit of searching and noticed others found solutions mainly by reinstalling drivers though this has not worked for me. Would someone have any other tips?
Here some PC details: Dell Inspiron 1525, Vista Home Premium, SP1, 2GB RAM, one reimage done around 4 months ago, not sure if it happened because of that)
I recently purchased a stock-standard Inspiron 3521 Touch running windows 8.
The touchscreen worked for the first few days but has subsequently stopped working which I suspect is due to windows/other software updates.
The system is not showing/recognising any Tablet and Pen hardware/drivers.
I have a Dell Inspiron 1545 and the 98% ofthe keyboard has stopped working. I turned it on and tried to log on but nothing. I tried restarting it, taking out the battery and even cleaning the keyboard still nothing.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy Dell Inspiron 1525's touchpad no longer works. It worked fine this morning. I updated security essentials and windows and then it stopped working after updates had installed. I tried system restore and it still does not work. I can use a corded USB mouse, but I really need the touchpad.
View 4 Replies View RelatedAfter connecting to the internet on my laptop(Dell inspiron 1525, Windows Vista), the internet connection will work great for 5 minutes or less than it slows down drastically or essentially not working at all. If I disconnect and reconnect it will work again but just for a short amount of time. The wireless connection works great on other laptops, tablets and mobile.  I have Mcafee antivirus, and it could not detect any malware or viruses. Tried restoring the computer to factory settings and the internet stays connected for what seem a few minutes longer.Â
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an Inspiron 1720 laptop. It will be 2 years old this coming Christmas...and I ain't got the extended warranty so no go on sending this thing back to dell.
Recently within the past week or so the 1 and only fan has stopped working on it. Once I found out it stopped working I went and download SpeedFan to check on my temps and they was pretty high it showed the above normal arrow and sometimes even the flame icon next to the temps. So I have not been using my laptop since. I tried taking this thing apart but I have had no luck. I'm not very experienced in working on laptops.
~~UPDATE~~
My fan is working now. I don't know if I jumped to conclusions whenever my fan wouldn't turn on after a good 20 mins or so of just web surfing. So I decided to just hop on a game and play. Then there it was not even 5 mins into playing the fan kicked in and starting pushing out hot air very nicely, but I did look at the temps on SpeedFan and during gameplay my GPU would reach 140F and CPU would get at like 130-135F. My idle temps are still high in my opinion. The GPU idles in these ranges 125-130F and CPU at 100-110F. Is these temps normal? .....
I've got a new Inspiron 15 (S/N DPDYC12) with Ubuntu, installed Win7 x64 on it, most drivers from the Dell site, and on launch it brings up the error "Synaptics touchpad 64-bit enhancements has stopped working". When I try to enter mouse options in control panel, I get the error "Unable to connect to synaptics pointing device driver'. Tried reinstalling the driver, rebooting, etc. How do I fix it?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a new Inspiron 5547 w/Windows 7, everything is working well except for the Touchpad. Initially the touchpad was working fine, then it stopped responding, only when I attached a USB mouse could I use the laptop. I re-installed drivers and the Touchpad worked correctly again. A few days later, the trackpad stopped working again....reinstalled drivers yet again and everything worked fine. Now for the 3rd time in 4 days the trackpad is not working. Is this a hardware or Windows 7 Issue?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI bought an Inspiron 14R about four months ago. The touchscreen worked fine until maybe a month ago. It was after the computer had some sort of update that the touchscreen stopped working. Any clue if there is a driver or something that I can download to fix this problem?

When I installed Windows 7, I receive error message "Synaptics TouchPad 64-bit Enhancements has stopped working." Wen I close this my touchpad start working erratically. While typing cursor moves itself without touch or click.
The driver given on Dell site under Windows 7 is same as for Windows 8. I also tried drivers from Synaptics website but nothing worked.
The touchpad on my dell inspiron 1545 has stopped working for no apparent reason. The left and right buttons still work. An external mouse works and I was able to check my touchpad settings using it, the touchpad settings all appear to be in order and I verified it was enabled. I can't understand why the touchpad suddenly stopped working...
I'm using Windows Vista.
I've discovered my display driver has stopped working and frequently crashes.
Can i get a download link and replace it for Inspiron 15R (N5010)
The touchpad on my Inspiron 15 stopped working this morning. I have a mouse plugged in and that seems to work but I'd like to get my touchpad working again. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the touch pad drivers but it won't allow the driver to reinstall.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a Dell Inspiron 3520 the wifi was working fine, and then it all of a sudden stopped. I already went and bought a new router, and tried using my Ethernet cable. The new router hasn't changed it but i can connect to my LAN network with the Ethernet cable. I am not satisfied with the LAN network because I bought a laptop so i could use it all of the house. I will not purchase anything else because i already bought an 85 dollar Belkin router.
