Dell Inspiron N4050 :: ACPI Compliant Error While Trying To Install Windows 7
Mar 16, 2012
I have Dell inspiron N4050, I was attempting to install a fresh copy of Windows 7 Ultimate and after installation, it restarted I get an error blue screen that reads: A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer. If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps: The BIOS in this system is not fully ACPI compliant. Please contact your system vendor for an updated BIOS.
I'm on Windows 7 64 bit and the Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery device is causing my Aspire E5-551 to freeze. If I enable the device and I try to run my laptop on battery it freezes, but when it's disabled I can run on battery perfectly fine.
Now I don't mind having it disabled since it fixes the problem but when I disable it then I have no way of telling how much is left of my battery.
This is a brand new laptop, a little over a month old so I haven't done any damage to it. I sent it in to get fixed but when I received it back from the Acer repair center all they did was re-install windows which did actually fix the problem for about a week but the problem came back.
I just picked up a HP DV6812NR notebook. It has a AMD Turion 64 X2 processor (TL-60, 2.0GHZ). It's a barely used refurb model that the guy was selling because he couldn't get the OS to install. I bought it off him cheaply hoping it was just a software issue.
This model has an IDE hard drive so there was no need to slipstream SATA drivers into my XP install CD. However the XP install would not work right away. It successfully formatted the partition and copied files, but would hang after the installation reboot.
After a bit of research I tried selecting a different HAL by pressing F5 as the XP setup loaded. Funnily enough if i selected ACPI uniprocessor PC, the installation did complete. However unsurprisingly, XP then only saw one processor in task manager, and performance seemed just a little funky.
Does this suggest a bad processor? If so that wouldn't be the end of the world as I could probably pick up another TL-60 for around $100. Even cheaper I could pick up a Turion 64 X2 TL-50 (1.6 GHz). Any reason that lesser processor wouldn't work in this machine? What would the performance hit be like if this notebook is to be primarily used for watching movies and surfing the net?
I've Acer Aspire V5-431 with Intel Celeron 1007U @1.5Ghz with 4GB of RAM, but whenever I tried to install Windows 8, it's always came with Blue Screen of Dead and it's shows this error IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL.
The High Definition Audio Device ha an error10 , there ios no Driver installed for this device , is there a work around available to get my sound working??
I was using my laptop and suddenly it shutdown. I thought ot was some kind of battery probelm and i change it but same result i check ram and processor too but all are fine . Laptop shutdown after 10 to 15 sec . The fan speed increases before shutdown.
I have a problem on my Dell laptop Inspiron N4050, all USB ports suddenly stopped working, I tried to troubleshoot my laptop to fix the problem but it didn't work.
I upgraded the version of my BIOS, the chipset, and downloaded the latest version of the driver but still not working, I even tried to re-format my laptop but the problem is still the same.
My N4050 laptop got dead and I called the customer care they said that the Hard disk, BIOS chip, Fan were the problem. My laptop is under warranty now. I bought this laptop thru ebay and I have the invoice copy from the seller. How can I proceed for the warranty service. I dont have the paisa pay id details of ebay.
I am using Dell inspiron n4050 model laptop. While documenting the cursor frequently jumps to a new location. i need to disable the touch pad of my laptop. i had utilized the browser and came up with the fn+f3 key option to enable and disable the touch pad.
But the hotkey for this option is not working properly. all other hotkey options are working as normal.
The mice settings window the dell touchpad tab is not found.
What I have is a the blue screen with only windows home edition on it and it does not boot up any farther than that. This is a new machine and I would like to reset, I have tried tapping f8 at start up but it says resuming start up and then goes to the same screen. I tried to load Google chrome and then it all went south.
I have an inspiron laptop. been working fine now all of a sudden the circle icon keeps flashing in the background it doesn't go out. Ran norton antivirus didn't catch anything. checked register disks everything ok. the computer is working fine except it just keeps flashing off and on again.
I tried rebooting removing battery nothing works. the only msg i received was a box that said wireless configuration OLE initialization failed, make sure that the OLE libraries the correct version. I am running windows home premiun 7.
My laptop(Inspiron N 4050) works fine last night and since the battery went down, i turn off without any problem and when i plug the charger the adapter light went off. and it 's not getting charge.
I got the same problem earlier also and i fixed it with my international warranty. but from that date only 4 months have gone and i got it again. but last time i got an error message. but this time i did not get anything just got off normally.
My Inspiron 14 Intel N4050 's keyboard is warped and some of the keys are dislocating and stuck. How can I get it replaced? Is it covered under warranty ?
My laptop's bluetooth is not work.I don't know what to do.I reinstall the driver but the same.In Device Manager ,it say that window has stop this device because it has report problems.(Code 43).
Am using Delll N4050 more than a year, now am facing some shutdown issues.
Computer details: My Laptop shipped with ubundu and I installed windows 7 home premium.
Processor: Intel core i3-2350M CPU @ 2.30 GHz
System: 64-bit
Problem: For past one year it was working fine but now am facing shutdown issues. When I shutdown my laptop it's not shutting properly (i.e.) power led keeps glowing and fan keeps running until i long press power button to shut it down. But restart works fine. Same problem occurs when I put in sleep mode and hibernate mode.
I am using 2012.0815.2143 version of catalyst control center which was default download available from the dell support center for my laptop model. The problem i am experiencing is that whenever i switch powerplay to maximize performance my GPU temp just increases to 90C, seems like fan doesn't work and system powers down due to maybe thermal shutdown. But when powerplay is set to maximize battery life the temperature remains fine and i can play games fine.In maximize battery life core runs at 300Mhz only which is not good heavy games.
I recently ran a test on my laptop(N4050).It first showed me I had a SMART extended self test failure. Then I had a hardware failure message. I have attached one of the things.May I know what am I supposed to do? My warranty has expired.
I am having problem with my dell n4050 keyboard shift key..when i start writing something in Microsoft word by pressing shift to write CAPs or other symbols..it creates some other symbol or open a program from start menu.i also changed my key board layout settings, but it doesn't work.
The touchpad of my Inspiron N4050 stops working properly everytime i plug my external HD that is AC powered or the HDMI cable. It doesn't matter if the AC of the laptop is connected or not, the touchpad becomes impossible to use. I tried using it in other places thinking of an energy problem at my place, but it still occurs. Other laptops work normaly with the external harddrive and the HDMI.
I have a Inspiron 1545 laptop and it shows a " windows error recovery". The screen reads: windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. If windows files have been damaged or configured incorrectly, startup repair can diagnose and fix the problem. If power was interupted during startup, choose start windows Normally.
Ok..... now i have two choices to choose from: launch startup repair (recommended) or start windows normally.
I choose the recommended one and it looks like it is going to bootup but shows this blue screen with flowers on it and does nothing?
Then i choose the second option, which takes me back to the error screen!
Received new 5748 laptop today. Made a bootable factory restore disc + external hdd boot up image. Removed the 1TB hdd that came with the laptop and installed my Samsung 840 SSD. Keep getting an error trying to do the restore onto the SSD.
How I install windows 8 on my SSD with no installation cd as it was not provided with the laptop.
The hard drive went bad on my Inspiron M5030. I had made system recovery DVDs (Win7) when I first got it, so I replaced the hard drive and restored the system from the DVDs to the new hard drive. All went great, and Win 7 worked perfectly until I shut the system down (restarts work fine). After a shutdown, and upon startup, I get this error:
Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix the problem:
Insert your Windows installation disc and restart your computer. Choose your language settings, and then click "Next." Click "Repair your computer."
If you do not have this disc, contact your system administrator or computer manufacturer for assistance.
Status: 0xc000000e Info: The boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible.
I have tried going in the bios and the system sees the new hard drive. I also tried all the Dell diagnostics (F12), and all passed, including the hard drive.
There is no option to "Repair" once I boot from the Recovery DVDs, only to restore the system completely, which I've done twice now with the same results.
It seems that the lack of a recovery partition on the new hard drive might be to blame? I don't know. I'm out of options at this point.
