I am using Dell inspiron n4050 model laptop. While documenting the cursor frequently jumps to a new location. i need to disable the touch pad of my laptop. i had utilized the browser and came up with the fn+f3 key option to enable and disable the touch pad.
But the hotkey for this option is not working properly. all other hotkey options are working as normal.
The mice settings window the dell touchpad tab is not found.
I've just received my XPS11 and think it's a beautiful machine... however, the one grief (everyones main grief with this unit it seems) is the keyboards sensitivity setting.
By default, when the computer starts, when you open up the Dell Keyboard (F10), the keyboard sensitivity is set to midway.... i constantly need to keep sliding it to lightest setting (makes it almost usable at this point). Where in registry this setting is kept ? or how i can permanently set it to LIGHTEST.

I upgraded the version of my BIOS, the chipset, and downloaded the latest version of the driver but still not working, I even tried to re-format my laptop but the problem is still the same.

My N4050 laptop got dead and I called the customer care they said that the Hard disk, BIOS chip, Fan were the problem. My laptop is under warranty now. I bought this laptop thru ebay and I have the invoice copy from the seller. How can I proceed for the warranty service. I dont have the paisa pay id details of ebay.

What I have is a the blue screen with only windows home edition on it and it does not boot up any farther than that. This is a new machine and I would like to reset, I have tried tapping f8 at start up but it says resuming start up and then goes to the same screen. I tried to load Google chrome and then it all went south.

Ran norton antivirus didn't catch anything. checked register disks everything ok. the computer is working fine except it just keeps flashing off and on again.

1) Dell Utility 41 MB FAT
2) OS 5.4 GB FAT
3) 310 GB ext 4
4) Extended 4.2 GB
5) 4.2 GB Swap ...
There is only one partition which is useful to me with a storage of 310 GB. But, I want 4 useful partitions. I don't need any recovery partition etc.
Am using Delll N4050 more than a year, now am facing some shutdown issues.
Computer details: My Laptop shipped with ubundu and I installed windows 7 home premium.

Problem: For past one year it was working fine but now am facing shutdown issues. When I shutdown my laptop it's not shutting properly (i.e.) power led keeps glowing and fan keeps running until i long press power button to shut it down. But restart works fine. Same problem occurs when I put in sleep mode and hibernate mode.

I am using 2012.0815.2143 version of catalyst control center which was default download available from the dell support center for my laptop model. The problem i am experiencing is that whenever i switch powerplay to maximize performance my GPU temp just increases to 90C, seems like fan doesn't work and system powers down due to maybe thermal shutdown. But when powerplay is set to maximize battery life the temperature remains fine and i can play games fine.In maximize battery life core runs at 300Mhz only which is not good heavy games.

It doesn't matter if the AC of the laptop is connected or not, the touchpad becomes impossible to use. I tried using it in other places thinking of an energy problem at my place, but it still occurs. Other laptops work normaly with the external harddrive and the HDMI.

When I look at pen and touch under pc info, I get "No pen or touch input is available for this display." Which is quite odd since it is a touch laptop. I cannot find any of the drivers for the touchscreen. The only thing I have under "mice and other pointing devices," is the dell touchpad. I tried reinstalling synaptics touchpad driver, no luck. I have a Inspiron 13 2-in-1 I purchased shortly before the holidays. The touch screen is nice, but when I'm operating in tablet mode, nearly every button and link I tap requires 14+ taps in frustrating repetition before any one registers. The screen responds to the fact that I'm tapping with the finger graphic, but it refuses to acknowledge that I'm clicking to open something. The windows 8 start menu works just fine, only one tap required for any tile. Everything else, however, program and internet sites, requires many taps before they register. Is there a way to fix this?
