Nov 5, 2014Attempting to install 1600x900 screen and getting wrong colors and bad resolution. I understand the cable may need replacement.

Why for the Bios A09 and A11 is not shown for what operating systems are validated?
Dell Latitude E6430 :: Cannot Enable Wireless
Feb 13, 2013Weird issue... I cannot enable wireless.
The driver is current
The switch on the side is on.
In device manager all looks fine.
When I try and enable it ... it says enabling but never get enabled.
Tried dleting the driver completely and loding the current... no joy.
Dell :: Memory Options For Latitude E6430?
Aug 3, 2013I'm planning to purchase a Dell Latitude E6430 in a few days time but I have a couple of things to clarify before I purchase this laptop. The question is, Dell manual correctly says this supports up to 16GB of RAM. However Dell does not provide/ship 16GB of ram with this laptop.
I would purchase aftermarket 16GB of ram to do what I want to do with this laptop. But I'm uncertain which RAM specification I should buy. Should I buy DDR3L (1.35V) or DDR3 (1.5V) SODIMM ?
This is what the Latitude E6430 manual says :

Dell Latitude E5520 :: Citrix Screen Resolution At 1260x 760 When It Should Be 1920x1024
Apr 6, 2012When I first got my Latitude E5520 (i7, 8Gb RAM, Intel HD graphics) I could connect to a Citrix based VDI desktop with a screen resolution of 1920x1024. Suddenly it dropped to 1280x760. I have never been able to get it to shift back to 1920.
The Citrix client has been replaced with both available options. Same result. Every possible configuration setting has been set to 1920x1024 to no avail.
The native desktop is at 1920x1024. Shifting into the VDI session, the only screen resolution offered is 1280x760.
I have also reloaded the graphics driver. Same results.Going into the advanced graphics configuration on the laptop confirms 1920x1024.
Other laptops allow me to log in to the same VDI desktop in 1920x1024 resolution so it is isolated to the laptop itself...
Dell Latitude E6430 :: Touchpad Doesn't Work
Mar 26, 2014I have a Dell Latitude E6430 and touch pad has not worked since day one I got it but I always have a mouse plugged into the USB so I never used the Touch pad since testing it on day one.
I download the Dell Diagnostic tool and ran it under the "Complete Setting" and everything back as passed.

Jan 23, 2015I used to be a Dell Technician too, 578260. I got a latitude e6430 given to me from the company I am currently working now Prodagio Software. I am locked out of my BIOS but manage to use the laptop using finger print. I forgot my password and with that problem I am not able to modify anything inside the BIOS. I am afraid to do a reset because I might lose the A08 upgrade.

Mar 16, 2013I just purchased a Latitude E6430 to replace my aging Latitude D630. I like to keep a second AC adaptor in my laptop case just for travel. When talking with the telephone sales agent at Dell, she told me the two adaptors are not compatible, yet both are PA-12, 65W, 19.5v, 3.34A. the only difference, is the old one is 2-pin and the new one is 3-pin. Is she blowing smoke at me?
I also have an off-brand "universal" audo/air/AC adaptor for the old computer that's, 90W, 19v, 2.7A that was listed as compatible with the D630. Are these all compatible with each other?

Mar 6, 2013I have a problem with my Latitude E6430 i7-3720QM upgraded to Windows 8,, Bios A09, 8 core...Fan is constantly running and drying the battery out. Tem range between 60-70C. All tests from Dell webpage passed successfully. Tests from Intel Diagnostic tools passed. However, fun is always running, lap top is warm and battery goes down very quickly, in an hour. Under windows 7 it used to last much longer. I even did a clean install of Windows 8 and the problem persists

Running two Toshiba 32L2300U 32" tv's that have VGA connections. Since the eport only has one VGA connection the other is connected with a DisplayPort to VGA adapter.
I need to work from home on two monitors, not the laptop in a dock with the lid open and one TV screen. (Internet is restored when I open the lid as it's in the dock but only one monitor works.

Mar 1, 2014I have a Dell Latitude E6430 laptop running windows 7 64-bit. When I try to use it with a docking station, the USB ports on the docking station do not work. When I try to use a USB mouse with it, it only works with one of the USB ports. When I try using my printer (HP laserjet 1320) through the USB ports, it doesn't work (it did previously with a Dell latitude E6430 running windows 7 64-bit).
I've installed the latest BIOS upgrade, updated the USB and intel chipset drivers. How do I get these working?
Dell :: Latitude D630 @ 1400x900 Resolution
Apr 10, 2009I have considered purchasing a Dell latitude D630. I've looked at online retailers such as liquidation.com, ascendtech.us, ebay, amazon...but so far can't find a D630 at the resolution of 1440x900, only at a lower resolution of 1280x800.
So, looks like the only option is to buy a screen sold individually, and upgrade the laptop manually to replace it.
The question is, is it safe to replace a lower-resolution screen with a better one on a laptop?

Feb 15, 2013So I just had Windows 7 reinstalled as my harddrive died. But after the reinstall, Windows 7 only detects my laptops native resolution (recommended resolution) as 1280x800.
I know this laptop has the 1440x900 display, I have coworkers with the same laptop and their display shows the "recommended" is 1440x900, and I know that was the case before I lost my drive and got a new one with a reinstall.
This laptop has the NVIDIA Quadro NVS 160M adapter, and I have the latest driver for this from NVIDIA.
Why does windows think my native resolution is 1280x800. I can use the NVIDIA driver to force it to go to 1440x900, which works. I was just wondering why it is doing this. Is there some inf package that I need from Dell?

I would like to know if I can upgrade my lcd resolution to 1680x1050 (of course, I am talking about buying another lcd here). I know both resolutions have a 1.60 aspect ratio. And also that this model was offered with 1680x1050 displays.
I am using Vista Bussiness and XP Professional (32bits). The video hardware installed in my laptop is: Mobile Intel(R) GM965 Express Chipset.

Apr 18, 2010I just bought a brand new Sony Vaio VPCF11M1E and I have the following problem:
Because in normal stand the screen is very small, I enlarged it to x150%. Everything becomes bigger, but the following parts are blurry and absolutely not sharp:
-Pop ups, of programs and of windows itself (like advanced settings of something and then a new windows pops up, that one is then totally blurry; you can read it, but it is not the good resolution)
-Google chrome (and with that, all the internet pages)
-The google chrome on the desktop is also very blurry, while all the others, are still sharp (after the enlargement by 150%)
I have tried everything (32 bits colours is on, cleartype is on). I also did a system restore to the first days I bought the laptop and then it was on 100% so the resolution was excellent, but then I put it on 150% and again, the parts I mentioned above, were blurry.
Acer :: Memory Upgrade/Resolution Change - Aspire 3680
Oct 1, 2007My brother just bought an Acer Aspire 3680.He purchased 1 gig of DDR2 Memory from Crucial. When we get to the desktop the screen is fine at first then the screen goes off and back on with 8 bit display. 512 DDR2 came in the machine. Crucial site said he could mix memory sizes. I tried it with the 1 gig stick by itself in case the mixed memory was the problem. Same thing..I've tried 2 sticks of 512...same thing. I've tried 2 sticks of 1 gig each..same problem. This laptop won't allow any upgrade at all. Will only run correctly with (1) 512 stick. I've never seen this problem before. I've installed many memory sticks in computers. This is a first for me. What could be causing this?? Any advice would be appreciated. BTW. the computer shows the upgrade amount of memory but the display color keeps changing to 8 Bit! I change it back to 32 and it reverts back after a few moments to 8 Bit. I went to Acer and installed an updated driver for the Intel Graphics card thinking the driver would help. I haven't installed a bios update yet. Called Acer and they said to return it for repair.

Nov 10, 2011Just upgraded from Windows 8.1 preview to Windows 8.1... since then my display doesn't look right at all. Resolution seems to be set to 1920x1080... which I belive is correct.
But text, icons and windows seem bigger than they were before.
Also the display is lacking sharpness around text. Do I need to upgrade some drivers or something?

Dec 28, 2013I have a lenovo T510 which has a maximum res of 1366x768 it has nvidia NVS 3100M graphics.Ive checked with nvidia and it says the gfx card supports 1920x1080.
If its possible could i buy a 1920x1080 lcd and fit it to this laptop without any problems.Or shall i just buy a 1366x768 lcd.

Jul 28, 2009I just got my new Studio XPS 1640 in the mail today and got a little excited. I started tweaking stuff galore, following the variety of vista tweaking thread for reducing boot time, speeding up your comp etc... but I think I must have screwed something up because the computer started lagging like crazy. i couldn't even navigate in "My Computer"
So me, being all excited and dumb decided that I would reinstall Vista and partition my C drive (which is a 256gb SSD btw, if that's important), instead of learning about the Factory Image Restore.
So now my screen resolution sucks, and I'm frustrated and tired of trying to fix this. I just want it back to how it was before, fresh out of the box. I have the Vista CD and The Driver CD, and I tried installing every damned driver and application and whatever, but it's never the same as it came out of the box.
I can't find the webcam or facial recognition software anywhere and I'm missing the cool dock at the top and bleh. I'll stop ranting, but if anyone. ANYONE, knows how to help me I would greatly appreciate it. I just want the good laptop that I paid 2000$ for.

May 20, 2008Currently i have my screen resolution at 1200x800 and i find it too sharp, the one below that 1280x720 is too squashed and too sharp, the one lower from that is too blurry, but perfect proportions (1024x768)
is there any way i can change to a one in between or something.

Dec 26, 2008I just bought a Latitude E6500 with a WUXGA LCD with Nvidia NVS 160M to replace my old Inspiron 8600 also with WUXGA screen.
I am puzzled with one thing : with my old 8600 I was able to change resolution from 1920X1200 way back to 800X600 without any loss of quality. The screen always ramained crisp and clear.
Now, with my new E6500, anything less than 1920 X 1200 gets fuzzy. I read all about the "native resolution" speach, but what I can't understand is why the old laptop was able to show all resolutions properly, and the new on doesn't.

Mar 10, 2010There is no configurable screen and the tech specs don't say other than "HD" which most people use for 1366x768.
Has anyone been able to confirm the screen resolution on the new Vostro 2500 series or 3400?
Any idea on how long it takes them to make it a bit more configurable?
