So far my Dell has been in shipping from China for 4 days.
Looking on here, it seems that it normally lands here in the UK on the 3rd or 4th day.
So, my question is, are they using a Canoe, or one of those old pedal powered planes to bring my Laptop to me?
I ordered a custom Studio 15 from Dell last Friday. It reached the "Shipped" status by Monday. The order status on the Walsh Western site. It looks kinda something like this:

23/11/09. 13:30. China. DEPARTED MANU. FACILITY
23/11/09. 05:30. PENDING
Just wondering, how long does it take for the next stage / status update. I'm so impatient and want to know how long it takes on average for delivery. I'm in the UK.
Also, I've heard some negative things about Walsh Western and the quality of their service...
I recently ordered a Dell Studio 1558. Dell claim it has been shipped, and on clicking the Walsh Western link, it gives me the Customer number not found etc dialog. I tried the methods mentioned to input my numbers manually, but it still says not found. What can i do?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have the T540p with Win 8.1, actual drivers. Updates as in the web site. It works in the Ultra Dock with a 135 W power supply.
Attached to the Dock are following USB Peripherals
1) MS Keyboard 4000
2) Ms Mouse
3) Web Cam (Logitech 920)
After some time (sometimes 10 Min after booting, sometimes longer), the USB ports do not work. Unplugging the peripherals and plugging them into other USB ports of the dock does the trick, but the previous ones do not longer work until the next start.
The Screen goes blank. Sometimes but not always I get a message from the power manager stating that plane mode has been initiated due to power supply problems. I have tried connecting the thinkpads own 135 w supply, but no difference.
ThinkPad t540p, 2880x1620, i7 4700MQ, 16GB, 256GB SSD, WWAN
Does w530 can operate while connected to a power port in a plane? I understand that most of the in-flight AC power ports are limited to 75W, but I haven't tested my machine under such conditions.

I do have disks for a Dell desktop computer. I'm not worried about the drivers, as I have them backed up, but is it possible to use these other disks to reinstall windows on this laptop and use this computers windows key?

View 12 Replies View RelatedI have a Dell Inspiron 15 7000 with 1TB HDD. The disk is slow and want to replace with a 500GB SSD. I can remove the HDD and put in its place the SSD. However, how exactly to get Windows 8.1 installed on the SSD and the other Dell provided pre-installed software?
I made a factory image usb flash drive on a 32GB stick by using the backup & recovery software that came pre-installed. I also updated that software to the latest version available. However, when recovering from the flash drive it gives an error code 0x400110020000100A and does not restore Windows on the SSD. The SSD is formatted as NTFS (or FAT32 tried both) and can be read by the laptop if connected thru' a USB port. So, I know that the SSD is working and good.
I have a Dell Latitude E6410. I recently installed created a linux partition on my HDD but was not interested in keeping it. Anyway after I uninstalled this OS, the space allocated to it on the HDD was turned into unallocated space. I have been unable to merge it with my primary partition. What I wanted to ask was that if I perform a reinstall of my original OS(Windows 7 Professional), will I be able to recover the original partitions and how can it be done?

When i connect the new Dell 90w Adaptor when laptop is Off the indicator turns white colour with blinking. I kept charger for more than 3 hours still the white light battery indicator with blinking.
Does the Battery charge when Laptop is turned Off, wil get any Battery indicator. How many hours need to charge a new battery.
Can i use Dell 90W battery to charge instead 65W?
I have tried removing static power , removing battery holding power for 60 seconds..removing all external items.I couldnt able to turn on the Laptop.
I have been looking all over the internet and on Dell for the past 2 hours with no luck. I have a Dell Inspiron E1505. I want to wipe everything off this laptop except what was on it when I purchased it. I keep reading hit F12 or control F11 and then click Restore. There is no Restore anywhere. View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to load a new hard drive for my Dell Studio 1557 LT due to the original failed. I've worked on many PCs and LTs before and loaded software so I know the basics and then some. Problem is, when the LT boots from the OS from an external dvd drive -Win 7 64 when it attempts a write to the hard drive at the same point in the installation every time it blue screens then reboots. I cannot capture the blue screen info due to the immediate reboot. I have tried many utilities and other hard drives but the LT wont let me write to the hd to load an OS. I tried loading a hd from another pc then install it into this LT, same results blue screen then reboot. Very strange as if the LT wont allow a new hard drive or OS to be loaded. I've been trying to get this loaded for a week now and have tried everything. The hd was even DoD low level formatted too. Is there s Dell disk I need to get it started ?

The ones who tried it, how easy was it? from the manual it didn't seem too hard the only think that seems kind of dificulty was removing the keyboard..Is there any trick for it?

Regarding the heat grease, it was mentioned in the other thread

When re-assembling and when you're about to put in the thermal module, make sure there's adequate heat grease on the CPU (don't put TOO much on). Sometimes taking off the thermal module can upset the heat grease, you want to make sure there's a good thermal path for the CPU."
Is this, only in case we notice that there isn't adequate amount? or should be applied some in any case?
My problem is after using Candybar, I somehow got rid of the original trash can icon, and it was replaced with something else. I like the original wire mesh one. Is there anywhere I can download the original one? Or if someone can email me their trashempty.png and trashfull.png files. I'm new to OS X.

When I try to remove it, I can't. There are 4 mini holder on the top of the keyboard, after I push them, the keyboard lifts up a bit, but at the upper angles it is still stick to the chassis. No video disassembly guide is available...
