View 6 RepliesJust got my Studio 15 today. So far so good. I thought Firefox was not compatible with the finger print reader, so far it's working for me with over 25 passwords already. My only concern so far is the keyboard flex!
View 9 Replies View RelatedI recently have ordered an M1330 but I have been looking at some of the user pictures that do not have the finger print reader. Is this because it is not standard on the laptop and do you need to pay extra? (Im talking about the NZ/AUS version [url] theres no option to include or exclude it like the US site).
Also is it possible to upgrade from the LCD to LED in the future, if so how much?
I have a brand new dell precision m6400. It didnt include the finger print reader and over at part people.com i can get two different types of finger print readers.
Dell Precision M6400 Center Control Power Button Cover with FIPS Swipe Module

Now what does FIPS Swipe Module mean?? What are the difference between them?
I have a Compaq nx6325 running Windows Vista Business 32bit and I was trying to get the AuthenTec Inc. AES2501A fingerpint reader to work. I installed the minimal install from the HP Driver page and I was wondering how I could then logon with my fingerprint? Would I have to install some extra software?

My HP ProBook 440 G2, Finger print reader not working when I upgraded form Win 7 Pro to Win 8.1 Pro. In device manager showing that biometric reader is working properly. But actually the finger printer reader is not reading or senseing. It seems like "dummy" part.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy finger print reader doesn't work the way it used to. It only asks for my finger print when logging on to Windows. At all other times it only asks for my windows password which is very annoying. What's wrong -it used to work fine. I reformatted my hdd and downloaded the latest drivers and programs using the system update program. My finger print reader version is 3.3.2.27. I have a T400 with Windows 7 Pro.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI did an upgrade from win vista x32 to win 7 x64 on my Dell Studio 1735. In order to do that upgrade I did change the HDD to a 1 TB and update from 3GB to 4GB ram.
Now I have on item still not working after that upgrade. The integrated biometric (fingerprint reader) refuse to work. Windows 7 x64 did detect that it was an Authentec device, and installed it driver.
But If I installe the software for the reader. It refuse to install and give this as the reason (No driver installed for the reader) I've tried to replace the windows driver with the original Authentec drivers, but windows 7 replace the drivers with it's own.
Any windows 7 drivers out there for my Authentec integrated device ?
I upgraded xp to win 7, like we all are going to have to do, but can't get the finger print reader to work. It does show in devices that there is one on the machine. I downloaded the drivers for Vista but they got me nowhere.

I went into this challenge when I reinstalled my windows 7 o/s after I realised I had some corrupted files and so could not install an HP printer on my computer. Unfortunately I did not have the original restoration file so I had to do reformating and reinstallation of the o/s.

I remember on my v570 when the user access control came up i had the option and i could type the password or use the finger print. so i was wonder if their is away i could set that up on the thinkvantage fingerprint software so that when the use access control comes up when i'm on my standard user account i could swipe my finger that i use for my admin.
View 2 Replies View RelatedOn my T410 i was able to save my username and password to my network so that loggin in was super quick.
Sit, swipe, and surf.
Now on my t440s the finger print reader software only allows you to save your password. So i have to:
1. ctrl-alt-delete
2. type my user name
3. swipe (it would be just as fast to type from there)..
Recently my fingerprint stopped working for power on and Windows login. Fingerprint reader setup utility started to show some strange error followed by empty utility window (see screenshots below).

I have updated all the software using "Lenovo update and drivers" but it did not work (BIOS image also was updated during this process). I doubt that it is hardware fault because I have Linux OS installed as dual boot among with Windows, and no problems there with logging in using fingerprint reader (fingerprint-gui package)...
as the dramtic headline says i just went to log onto my e6500 and placed my finger on the FIPS fingerprint reader and it roasted me !
and it didnt even log me in either , but worst part is it made me recoil a little and the machine fell of my lap and the screen lid took a knock on the floor,

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a Dell Inspiron 15r and a Dell v313w I purchased in November 2010, both are wireless and connected through a gateway/router that have been very great over the years but about a year or so ago I noticed each time I would try to print out multiple documents I could only get one document to print out, it could include one sheet or many sheets . Any others documents would be stuck in the print queue listed as " printing " but would never print out unless I restarted the computer then it would print out all documents one after another just as they had been entered complete with all sheets per document accounted for and in correct order.
After the printer had finished printing all the documents if I needed to print another document I would have the same headache all over again and the document would remain in the queue until I restarted the computer again.I'm not a spring chicken by any means and have to think logically went operating the computer or installing software so many of the technical jargon is something I really don't understand.
I just bought and Im the proud owner of a HP Envy 15-k064nd laptop.
I would like to disable the fingerprint reader because it keeps asking for codes while I'm typing on the keyboard. How I can disable the fingerprint reader?
I have just installed the HP 4635 printer to my network. All devices were printing yesterday wirelessly. Today the laptop device has a print job that I have requested to delete. It has said "deleting" for two days and I can not get it "unstuck". each time I send a new print job to the que it goes in line "behind" the print job that is stuck in "deleting" mode. I have tried re-starting. re-booting, ctrl, alt, delete. nothing seeings to get this print job "unstuck" and deleted.

I had previously attempted to use modded drivers and other apps (none of which worked), but surprisingly, synaptics seems to have enabled it all by themselves in the latest driver, which is part of scrybe.
More about scrybe: [url]
Guide:
1. Download the ScrybeSetup.exe file from here (you can enter a junk email): [url]
2. Install the software (Make sure it installs both scrybe and the new driver)
2.1 Restart
3. Go to Control Panel>Mouse>Device Settings (Tab)>Highlight Synaptics Touchpad Vx.x> then click settings
4. Once you have the Touchpad settings windows open, you can change all kinds of settings:
