I cannot connect to the internet to download these driversdirectly to her laptop. Can I download them to a usb from mine and transferthem? I've looked everywhere for these drivers but can't seem to navigate theDell Drivers page to find them.
Having a hard time figuring out how to swap a damaged HDD with a new one on this mini form factor Compaq EVO D5D case, it seems the case have a tab you press to release the HDD, CD-ROM or Floppy drive, but it seems everything is stuck inside, I can't slide the HDD or the floppy drive. On the second pic there is an identation on the inside of the casing when the device is attached and pressing the green tab at the top makes it flat so that supposedly you can slide it out but I don't know if this is how it's supposed to work.
Here some pics.
I am trying Windows 7 on my Latitude E6400, and I am having two a little issue for the system.
First issue is despite enabling advance performance for the drive under Device manager, Windows 7 gives me score or 2.0, than in Vista the score is significantly higher in the 5.0 range. My HDD is the Hitachi 5400RPM 160GB.
Second issue is, I don't know what I missed when installing the drivers/software, but I don't have the on-screen volume control. But the ambient light sensor, brightness level and keyboard backlit mode, does appear.
I'm thinking about getting a D630 and installing the 64-bit version of Windows 7 on it. Is there any reason that this won't be an easy process? Do I need any drivers from Dell?
I read here (http://www.sevenforums.com/sound-aud...-no-audio.html) that someone had a problem with audio from a docking station, but apparently it's fixed by installing vista drivers from the Dell website ...
So for now my feelings are not to good.
Dell is just starting to support Windows 7 on E4300. There are now few drivers coresponding to that system, but...
- Dell ControlPoint Security Manager Application - upgraded to A13 but still there are some problems with fingerprint reader after starting from sleep mode (long time before reader connect).
- Dell ControlPoint Security Device Driver - upraded to A12 but still I have a SmartCard Device (SCFILTERCID_3303013145410602b6) without drivers. Weird, because there is another SmartCard device that is installed corect, and my E4300 have only one SmartCards Reader.
- Dell ControlPoint System Manager - even with new A12 there is no possibility to adjust brightness without ALS.
- there are another two devices without drivers. Some "PCI Serial Port", and "PCI Simple Communications Controller".
I'm using Windows 7 x64 RTM.
Windows 7 seems to be running fine on the Dell Latitude E4200 other than the fact that the Ambient Light Sensor is not working,
did anybody find a fix for this, I know you can find the Windows 7 driver for the Dell Latitude E4200, but still same issue,
Has anyone done this? i'm currently on XP and would really like to move to Win 7, just wondering if anyone has any advice or has done this on a D530?

I'm running Windows 2008 64 bit on Dell Latitude e6400. Most everything works. The only issue is the Ethernet Gigabit adapter. The Vista 64 bit driver exists stating that no hardware was found. Dell supports says this laptop was specifically designed for Vista, no Win 2008 support if provided.

I got a great deal on a D620 w/2Ghz Intel Core Duo & 2gb of DDR2 ram,
it's coming with XP Pro but I've been running Windows 7 here on my Dell Desktop since around February(RC/beta version then bought Ultimate version when it was released) and I have to say I like it a lot and would love to install it on the D620 when it comes,
has anyone here installed Windows 7 on their D620 and if so and have any driver problems or issues of any kind??
Thanks in advance and sure nice to be here...

View 3 Replies View RelatedI acquired a Dell Latitude E5520 that I redid myself and downloaded the drivers from Dell's website. I would like Dell quickset x64 for windows 7. The one I had for my old laptop does not work. I tried googling some but can't find it.Â
View 1 Replies View Relatedon my E6510 I did install 8gb ram but windows 7 32 bit recognizes only 4GB. I'm thinking of switching to the 64-bit version of Windows 7 Professional, but I have doubts about the license key and the drivers. First, when changing from 32-bit to 64-bit, the current license is valid? If it is not, can I get a valid license from my actual? Finally, the drivers, are all supported? There is an image of Windows 7 Professional 64-bit (eg iso) downloadable from the Dell site with all the drivers and applications for my laptop?

" Windows Update cannot currently check for updates, because the service is not running. You many need to restart your computer"
I updated the bios, and rebooted like 15 times.
I have a Latitude E6410 with SD card reader. I can see the card reader in device management but the sd card will not apper as a drive in Windows 7. I tried the sd card on a colleagues laptop (exactly same spec and OS installation) and it works instantly.

View 2 Replies View RelatedIn Window's control panel, Biometric Devices shows me that the drivers are ok "Allow biometric devices with windows" is flagged. With Broadcom FMA I can easly enroll my fingerprints
Everything looks good but at this point there's no way to use my fingerprints to logon with Win7 pro.
In control panel / programs I can see installed: Dell Data Protection | Security Tools and Dell Data Protection | Security Tools Authentication but I can't find out any program to manage my fingerprinters.
I tried almost everything, installing/uninstalling drivers, softwares and all this didn't work. I suppose that I should find a program or something that allows me to associate the enrolled fingerprints to my account.
I even tried to use Dell My Downloads (with Internet Explorer) but I cannot because during the installation I had the message Service Tag Number not supported.
Windows logon shows me, next to my account and security card, another "account" fingerprints, I even tried to login with this but I received the message "Fingerprint not verified" (obviously because they are not associated to any account)....
I am looking for the Windows XP video driver for a Dell latitude 2100. I can find the Vista driver on the site but it won't work. Need to be able to use multiple screen and with out the drivers I can't use the VGA output.Â
View 4 Replies View RelatedRecently began recollecting drivers needed for Latitude E6410 Win 7 32 bit fresh build, and found some descrepancies. 1 "How to Download and Install Drivers in the Correct Order" (Dated 8-14-2006) on the Latitude E6410 driver page states that for number 8 the Dell ControlPoint software Says it is located in "Applications" when itis in fact under Dell Control Point. It Suggests installing the following:
-Control Point System Manger
-Control Point Security Manager
-Control Point Connection Manager
But in fact the only 2 available are Control Point System Manager and Control Vault (A little confusing). Also, under System Utilities is the PDF E-Family How-To Reimage Guide Which is marked urgent and I use for recreating images. It states that the Driver that has to be installed (Prerequisite to other DCP ) is Dell Control Point Security Driver Pack. Which is no where to be found. I heard toady from "Ronnie" at Dell Tech services via phone that I should use Dell Data Protection (Instead of Dell Control Point) but can find nothing on the correct order or how and when to install it.
Is there anyway to get an updated Latitude E6410 Win 7 32bit Correct order (And which ones) Driver install list?
I have a Latitude E6320, running Windows 7 SP 1 (64-bit). Â I have all the required and recommended patches installed. Â I generally use my laptop on a part-replicator. Â Recently, my laptop has been restarting when I hibernate my computer using either the on/off switch or the start button on the task bar.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently had to reinstall my Latitude E6420 with Windows 7.
Afterwards, Audio and Video (having Spotify+a few Office apps running) start to lag.
I tried reinstalling the Machine again without success. I tried all driveres suggested on the Dell supportpage and I asked google which told me "Turn off eSATA and SpeedStep" [URL] .... which hadnt any success either.
I bought a new Dell Latitude E6230. When I'm trying to configure smart card login, I think the Pre-Windows password set wrongly.I didn't notice how this password apply and what password is set.
Now, when I turn on my computer System show #47ZPWW1-1D3B and asking password.Could I reset or remove System or administrator password ?
I am booting a Dell Latitude E5420 running Windows 7 and after the POST it just shows a blinking cursor..... BUT WAIT... not ALL the time... it does manage to boot into the windows after I choose the HDD from F12 options or sometimes even when I keep on shutting down and starting up again and sometimes when I do a restore checkpoint in the repair options....
The Diagnostic tests are not working when I go through the F12 and just hangs up showing the message -
Examining ACPI interface
Running MATS test
I can't understand... if it was consistently NOT booting or showing a consistent error... but here the behavior is erratic (except for the MATS test failure....
I have the following problem: I set up an Administrator Account with password security and then add a Dell Security with fingerpint security. Now, I cannot access the Windows. The problem is the TPM cannot be connected or something like that. The scan says it accepts the scanned finger, and password is also Ok. How can I disable secure access or reset password, disable fingerprint control, etc. In BIOS I do not find any possibility to disable fingerpint but TPM activation/deactivation is there.
