Can I add to my HP spectre ultrabook 14-3210NR as a second HDD mSATA Crucial M500 (CT240M500SSD3) . Should I expect any problems with configuration etc?

I cannot select my new SSD (M4 mSATA) in the boot order in the BIOS.
The mSATA drive DOES show up on the BIOS info page (first BIOS screen) but does NOT appear on the boot order page. The drive is visible and formatted in Windows 8 64bit and I can copy files to it,
Computer: Lenovo IdeaPad Y580 with a 1TB HDD (i7 CPU, 660M COU, 8GB RAM, etc.)OS: Windows 8 64bitSSD: Crucial M4 mSATA 256GB Model # M4-CT256M4SSD3Windows shows the drive as operating correctly. After some fiddling I did use disk management to populate the volume (238GB available) and assigned a drive letter. I successfully copied a txt file and can open the file.
I have created a recovery DVD but it doesn't recognize the drive when attempting to use--although I can see/use in Windows.
I have also removed the HDD and rebooted a number of times. So the drive is working but I cannot set it as a bootable drive. The things I have tried:

I'm currently using an HP Spectre XT 13-2201tu Ultrabook (purchased in Indonesia), it came with Windows8 operating system. But due to my company policy, I've to down graded the O/S to Windows7 Professional.
I just realized that one of the PCI-to-PCI Bridge device was not working properly, the PCI device driver not installed.
I've tried to search the driver in HP support and download for Indonesia, but cannot find any Windows7 Drivers.
I want to upgrade my SL510 (28577MG) with a new Crucial M550 512GB SSD. The Crucial website says that the drive is compatible with my laptop: [URL] ....
Unfortunately neither the Windows 8 Install CD nor my BIOS can detect the drive. Here is a list of steps I tried to solve the problem:
Change the SATA Controller Mode Option in the BIOS from AHCI to Compatibility
SSD does not get detected in BIOS2. Update the BIOS to the latest version 1.52 (6JET94WW)
SSD does not get detected in BIOS3. Run the 2.5 inch SATA Hard Drive Firmware Update Utility
[URL] ....Utility can't detect the SSD / find any updates4. Look for a firmware update on the Crucial homepage
[URL] .... There are "No firmware updates"...
I also installed the SSD in my desktop (Gigabyte GA-MA770-UD3, 770) where it is detected in the BIOS and in Windows 7. So it is definitely in working condition.
I have the HP Spectre 13-3010ea and I cannot get any sound from my hdmi. Only picture!
When I plug in the hdmi going to my tv i still get "Not plugged in" in sound settings...
Can I charge the batteries in my Spectre 13-h211 nr x2 PC through one of the USB ports, rather than the power supply provided?

Sometimes it works well, sometimes it works then drops out; and it is never able to connect using my iPhone as a hotspot for more than 10 seconds.
HP support person instructed me to install 2 updates. Now my laptop is completely not working!! It says "Boot Device Not Found". I have to wait for a technician to completely replace the hard drive, then wait a week for a USB plugin to load up a new system.
I downgraded my 13T-3000 from Windows 8 to Windows 7 via an image on a bootable USB thumb drive. However, when Windows 7 installed many of the drivers were not installed, including the NIC and the USB drivers. As a result, I can not access the internet or load any missing drivers via the USB port.how to get Windows 7 up and running?

I do not see the command to enable the bluetooth settings and the network card on the bluetooth does not even appear in the device manager! It was getting an error saying along the lines that it was unreconized or incorrect power supply when it was the one that came with the computer. We had a second XPS and used that charger, and had a replacement sent I was getting the same error. I could never updated the BIOS because it would not go past 1 percent. Now it no longer powers on at all. I get the Orange and white power light blinking and battery meter with one light and that is it. I hooked the battery and held the power and checked every other connection. I tried powering it on without the battery and did nothing so IDK if it would worked that way or not but just trying it. Is the motherboard or something else going on?

But the pointer is there and when I click, it does absolutely nothing!! I have to use the touch screen for everything or an external mouse that I plugged in.

It has been great up until recently. i was using my laptop last nite when suddenly it turned off but i didn't think that the battery shoukd have been dead yet. its acting as if the bat is empty and plugging it in just turn on the orange led by the power plug. when i press the power button it flashes for a second but the screen does nothing and it doesn't actually turn on.I'm using my phone to attempt to find a solution atm which is very frustrating. adding to the stress is the fact that i have school work projects and a midterm project on it that I need to finish.Almost forgot to mention it started doing a few other odd things over the last week such as the touchscreen going nuts registering phantom touches endlessly until i close/hibernate/shutdown it.

While at home, I tested the mini-display port output with my TV and it projected my laptop screen perfectly. Now I am on the road at a client site and their Epson projector will not recognize my computer's output (or more likely my computer won't recognize their projector, since other people have no problem connecting to this same projector).
XPS 13... I've tried both duplicating and extending my screen to the projector with no success. I can't find anything about this problem by doing a Google search...
This touch pad sucks! I just got the new XPS 12 convertible Ultrabook and I have always loved the XPS now regretting that I did not go with the Macbook....
The touch pad is rarely seems to work correctly even after I have adjust the settings and it is constantly freezing up for 10-20 seconds and I have to right click several times to get it to unfreeze. Really irritating! The only way to get around this is to use a USB mouse.
I recently received my new XPS 14 (L421x) ultrabook. Out of the box, this machine has a 500Gb C: drive labeled "OS" and a second 110Gb SSD D: drive labeled "Data". Windows 8 is installed on the C: drive. There is absolutely nothing on the D: drive.
Does this sound right? I would have thought that you would want to have the OS on the SSD and boot from that (much faster?) drive.
I thought sleep mode only occured when you did not touch the mouse or keyboard for a specific period of time but my new ultrabook is dimming and locking me out while I am typing. I have to push the blinking power button and then I have the blue screen with CTRL+ALT+DELETE (work laptop).I cannot find any sleep mode settings and perhaps.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy year old XPS 13 Ultrabook's battery is not charging when plugged in. I measured the voltage of the power adaptor at the plug (the end that connects to the Ultrabook) and the voltage level seem fine at 19.4V
However when I plug and unplug the power when the Ultrabook is off, the LED turns on and off accordingly.
My Ultrabook is L321x, running Windows 7, and has BIOS A7 installed.
I bought an XPS13 i7, installed the BIOS (that went fine) and then installed the drivers. After installing the "WiFi Display" driver, the computer will not restart. Here is what happens:
I select the restart option
it shuts down
it powers up (the Dell logo appears)
it then goes to a grey screen.
After approximately 10 seconds (or after I press enter) a progress bar appears at the bottom of the screen with the words "F12 Options." The progress bar is persistently at 99% or thereabouts the computer is completely frozen and nothing happens
If I then press the power button, it powers off. When I press the power button again, it starts perfectly normally.
The main concern for me is that this is the second XPS13 from Dell in 1 week!!! The first one had an almost identical problems after the driver installs but it couldn't even be powered back into Windows. No matter what you tried, it simply went to the screen with the progress bar and froze.
I received my new Inspiron Utrabook today . Everything was fine for the first time that I booted. When I tried booting the second time, it's stuck on the Dell screen. Tried hitting F2 as per the suggested posts but to no avail. And how do you remove the battery ?

Dell XPS 14 Ultrabook
Got a new Inspiron 14z Ultrabook with Windows 8 64 bit, and I want to connect the Internet through a Huawei EC167 3G modem, running a program called "Mobile Partner". When I first install the modem it works fine, but as soon as I switch off the computer and switch it on again it stops working. The only way I get the modem working again is doing a computer refresh and re-installing the modem, but then it only works until I switch the computer off.
That Huawei modem used to work alright with an Inspiron 11z with Windows 7 64 bit.
I am wondering, does an HP dv6t-6100 have an msata slot? I would like to put an msats SSD in if it does, to speed up my computer.
