I am trying to fix an hp g7030eo computer. The first problem I had was the HDD broke so I bouht a new SATA HDD and tried to install windows VISTA and after copying the files and started install it I get a blue screen with the message 0x0000008e so , I removed both the memory and switched with another working memory and tried to install but with the same result, I also disabled SATA on bios but with the same result.

~5 bsods and solved by updating graphics drivers.
now, like 2 weeks later, it has been running fine and i decided i want to update my graphics driver by manually modding the inf file in the latest desktop drivers..
it did work out, but now it's giving me bsod errors everytime i close my laptop and come bak later to open it.
i also recently (today) installed a new realtek PCIe family controller driver..
so i dont know which driver is causing the bsod (0x50 non-paged fault)
right now my gfx is on 8.661 (found on a website, but WHQL certified)
I have a HP dv7t. Works great but on occasion (twice a week or so) I get an error message on startup that IDT Audio has closed due to an error. The error message is the typical Windows Vista error message that you receive when a program unexpectedly closes down. Because of this, I have no audio from my speakers until I restart my computer (headphones do work though). The IDT Audio Settings program that runs in my taskbar is still there, so that didn't close.
I am running the latest driver from HP's website: 6.10.6087.0 A

Problem 1 When I listen to music at full volume the laptop BSOD's (only full volume)

I have HP Pavilion dv5, Intel Core 2 Duo CPU P7350 @ 2.0 GHz, 4.00 GB RAM, 64-bit Windows Vista Home Premium SP1. Graphics card is NVIDIA GeForce 9200M GS with 256 MB dedicated video memory.
Since the past couple of days I am receiving this Error 2102: Detection error in HDD2 during every cold/warm boot. It pops up even after a complete powerdown for overnight and boot up the next day. Further, the boot itself has become very slow - shows blank screen until the Thinkpad logo is displayed, followed by which the error message pops up.

I got my 430s, and it's with a 16Gb mSATA SSD cache inside. Now everytime when I open my PC, it shows Error 2101 Detection error on HDD2 (mini sata) and I need to press ESC to continue. Is there any software or driver's problem, or it just phsically got wrong?

I was following these instructions on how to fix it [url], but when I put a new XP CD in and pressed a key to boot from CD, it came up with this error message:

Has my laptop reached the end of its life?
On my HP Pavilion the Recovery disk creator kicks out disk 1 (it says it will make 3) with an error note. If I stick another disk in it starts all over.My DVD+R disk is a 4.7 GB. Could it be only one disk was needed?

I received my Envy yesterday and was initially very impressed with the build quality and looks of the machine.
However, upon my first boot up things went downhill fast. I got an error before Windows even booted up. It stated that it had not been shut down properly before, (even though this was my first startup). It then went thorough a disk check and it appeared everything was ok.
I got the computer set up and then ran into several "black screens" for no apparent reason. Monitor would go blank and fans would start running loudly. I shut the computer off each time and rebooted without any problems.
Then it seemed to be stable for a few hours, only to go back to another "black screen". I did some research here and it sounds like a few others have had similar problems. I figured I'd try to update to the latest bios from HP's website,
Well, Bios update started ok, got about half way through and then the computer completely froze up and then went black again. So, it then became completely unbootable. No way to recover it, because there was no longer any bios on the system. I called tech support and they confirmed that it was shot at this point.

went into setup, selected CD drive first, inserted winME Cd rebooted, but still get same error.
I managed to create a Recovery Disc last night using the hard drive from the 6820s in an external caddy and accessed the Recovery CD creator that way.
But now I'm having a problem trying to reinstall Windows Vista as when I accessed the section concerning the complete format and reinstallation of Windows Vista; I got the following message:

If this issue continues, please contact HP Support.

HP dv7-3065dx Entertainment Notebook. Win 7.
HP battery alert system detected battery capacity to be very low error 601 (internal battery). So I changed the cell to a new CR 2032 battery. Showed the same error. I changed to another new CR2032 battery. The second time I did this I had a new 502 CMOS error along with the 601 error. My clock reverted back to 2009, I lost some of the icons on the lower right, and my wireless internet disappeared.
Now I have two things that need to be fixed.
I turned on, immediately hti ESC, hit system diag. F2, Battery Test:
Battery Test Primary FAILED (on the first battery I put in, didn't check on the second)
Control - Device Mgr. - HP - Batteries - Microsoft AC Adapter, Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery, and Microsoft Composit Battery all show that they work.
System CMOS/realtime clock says its working.
Microsoft System Mgmt. - BIOS Driver v. 6.1.7601.17514 from 6/21/2006 says it's the latest version.
I've manually updated my clock. I'll figure out the wireless and icons later I guess. Just need to know what to do about the errors.
I am getting error code 80070490 every time I try to do Windows updates. I have done the system restore as far back as I could and this did not solve the problem. I am going to be putting a new hard drive in the computer, but would like this problem to be resolved first.

It seems the only way I can get my computer to even power up is to lay it on it's side. Yesterday I resinstalled the restore disc. Now (still with it laying on its side) I am getting an error called Windows Boot manager. It says, "Windows failed to start, a recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix this problem, insert the windows installation disc and restart computer." I did a computer check on the hard drive when it was up a few days ago, and it seems to be fine. View 3 Replies View RelatedI just recently removed vista and upgraded to Win7 32 bit. I tryed to add 4gb of RAM, due to the factory 1gb it came with. However got a Blue screen Error. After that I only installed 1 of/ 2gb stick of RAM and it worked.
My question is, I need 4gb of RAM for this c700, Should I update the Bios for Win 7. By doing so will the c700 allow me to install the 4gb of RAM and work?
I have a new Compaq CQ58-353EM laptop. It came with preinstalled system (Windows 8). Afterwards I installed Windows and HP updates.
The problem I have is with the Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller (ethernet). In the device manager it is shown with a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark. In the device state it is stated: Your computer's system firmware does not include enough information to properly configure and use this device. To use this device, contact your computer manufacturer to obtain a firmware or BIOS update. (Code 35).
Laptop has all system and hp updates installed.
I tried the following to resolve the problem:
- 2 different bios versions (F.26 and F.25).
- several add/remove/reinstall of the Realtek drivers
- 2 different versions of Realtek drivers: 8.3.730.2012 and 8.20.815.2013 (from Realtek site).
Ethernet is working OK under Ubuntu.
My youngest son's Compaq Mini 110 boots staright up into a Password protect mode which I do not know and then locks up with a fatal error and system halt CNU93533NQ.
