i have hp laptop/ vista and am trying to use this 3d chat program but it does not load i dont know why..i didnt have such problem with my other laptops.

View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter a very unsettling chat with a customer representative, most likely from India, who clearly knew nothing about any of the questions I directed at him (for example, s/he was clueless on what Centrino was), I decided to maybe try another rep. However I was astonished to find that suddenly all their customer support agents were busy (even though the wait time was 0 minutes before).
I suspected foul play, reconnected my DSL to obtain a new IP, and suddenly wait time was 0 again. Coincidence... I think not. If you want to implement some form of spam abuse tactic, then clearly explain this and not give some -and-bull story that your agents are "busy". Absolutely despicable.
I just had a chat with Dell Techsupport about one of the butons getting stuck on my touchpad. No biggie, they will replace the palmrest, but then at the end the guy is trying to sell me a cooling pad. I told him that the laptop isn't that hot and the fan rarely comes on. So he's trying to tell if the fan ever comes on, I need a cooling pad and he'd be happy to order one for me. I politely declined.
Has anyone experience the Indian tech support acting like sales people?
We've been trying different clients to chat with back and forth from a pc to a mac, iChat to AIM, yahoo, etc. Each one we try there is a prob, audio on one end, no video on the other, etc. Has anyone had a succeful video chat between a pc and a mac? If so how?

I don't like dealing with their reps on the phone because they're reading from a script and it's VERY annoying.....
I have been trying to access the Dell Live Tech Support Chat for the past 3 days and have had no success. I keep getting a message saying that chat is closed or all reps are busy. Is everyone experiencing this problem?
View 10 Replies View RelatedThis laptop is HP dv2000t with a 120 GB SATA drive. It was setup to dual boot Ubuntu LINUX and Win Vista. I want to change it so that the only OS is WinXP and the drive will have all space in a single NTFS partition. I booted up with a utilty CD containing Win98 DOS boot files (IO.SYS, MSDOS.SYS, etc.) and also containing a partition manager program. I deleted all existing partitions and created a NTFS partition containing the entire 120 GB space. Then I booted with a Win XP installation CD to start installing Win XP - but the Win XP setup program says there is no hard drive installed. That leaves me dead in the water. Note: my utility CD (Win98 DOS) accesses the HD just fine. Does anybody know why the Win XP setup program thinks there is no HD installed?
View 4 Replies View Relatedthe dolby surround sound expander and the bass enhancer program on the bottom right in the taskbar?? well when i turn off the surround sound, it causes certain apps to sound different. for example the fingerprint reader. a successful swipe will sound muddy but with the surround sound enabled, it will become clear. this problem also conflicts with AIM and webchat, id have to turn on the surround sound to hear the person's voice clearly.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI was using my brother's Compaq Presario V4000 laptop a few days ago, everything seemed fine but when I finished using it, it wouldn't shut down, I didn't know what to do so I just used the power button to turn it off. Then when I tried to turn it on, Windows (XP) would not load, it only gets as far as the screen with the Compaq logo. Between the time the Windows logo appears and the Compaq screen, a message appears that says something like "the computer did not shut down properly" or something to the effect, and it gives me several choices, but whatever choice I make I get taken to the Compaq screen and no further. If I choose safe mode a bunch of gibberish appears all the way down the screen and after a few seconds the screen goes black with the words "Safe Mode" appearing in four corners of the screen, I can move the mouse pointer around but nothing happens.
This laptop is several years old but it's rarely used, I've only been using it the past several months to upload files to my web server so I doubt that it would be a virus or something like that.
i purchased one compaq cq45-137tx in december. I guess it' similar to the dv4t models marketed in other countries.
model details
there are couple of temperature issues with this lappy ( ambient temp 25-30C):
1. at idle ( just media player or maybe a pdf file open), the cpu temp is at 43C, northbridge always above 50, gpu always above 55.hd also tends to operate at 45-48C. this is inspite of the fact that i am running this thing with no vents blocked ..and in fact the RAM, cmos battery and hd covers removed to allow better air circulation.
2. at normal load ( game like burnout paradise, with utor going on in background), cpu tends to reach 60 C, gpu at 80 C , northbridge at 70C and hd at 60 C.
3. cpu temp never seem to change really. tried using various s/w' like realtemp ( shows 28 C for gpu..which i dont think is feasible). only when i reboot after a high load session, the s/w' show higher temperatures ( and the notebook shows erratic behavior with display artifacts!).
4. the only fan in the machine never appears to speed up or down. i don't have an issue with the noise, as long as it helps this thing run cooler.......
Shut it off one day and it wont load windows the next day. I get to the HP logo on start up and then the screen goes blank. After about 5 mins, the HP logo come back up again indicating the system is stuck in a restart loop. I cant get it to enter safe mode. I have removed the battery and held down the power button for up to 60 secs. No go. By hitting the escape button while the HP logo comes up, i was able to get to a limited menu where you can check memory and supposedly the hard drive. Ran through all that. No go. Removed CMOS battery for 5 minutes. No go. About the only thing i have not done yet is reseat the memory. I'll try that soon. From experience, am i looking at possibly a dead HD or is this sounding like a mobo issue?

When I press the power button, the machine will turn on, all quick play lights will power on, in fact all lights power on. But there is no display. I cannot access the BIOS, there is no P.O.S.T. It will not load from a CD-ROM.
If it is the BIOS, is there a way I can flash a new BIOS from a USB floppy drive? If I need a new motherboard.
I have a DV3Z with a slot-load DVD drive.
I somehow messed up my Windows 7 installation and get a BSOD every time I try to boot into Win7 or even safe mode from the hard drive.
However, what I can NOT figure out is how to EJECT the disc in the drive.
I can get to a command prompt via the Startup Repair advanced options, but there doesn't appear to be a command to eject in the disc.
Is there a keyboard combination I can press at power on to eject the disc?
I have a compaq presario CQ56 - 154CA laptop. I wiped the hard drive using DriveCleanser in TrueImage Home 2011 and then attempted to load the recovery manager with F11 (or F10 or whatever it is), but now all I get is a red screen with the big Q logo with "press ESC for startup menu" on the bottom left and it just hangs there. I did wipe the Win7 and the System partitions, but not the Recovery partition. I did do a backup of those 3 partitions onto my external drive, but the laptop won't boot from a bootable flash drive I made in True Image, nor any of my boot CD's. And I did set the bios to boot from flash first, then DVD, then hard drive before wiping.
I didn't make the recovery DVD's with Recovery Manager in Win7, but I shouldn't need them since the Recovery partition is still there.
I've read that some Compaq laptops use a utility on the hard drive to load the bios, startup menu etc, so if that is the case with mine then it was thoroughly deleted. If this is the case, is there any way I can get it back on the drive?
If not, I could try to remove the drive and put it in an ext enclosure and hook it up to my desktop. It's possible that I can use the flash drive to use True Image to restore the two wiped partitions. Also, I've read that in this instance, removing the drive and then turning on the laptop may allow the bios to load, but I'd really rather not take out the drive if I don't have to.

On my desktop I use "dtemp", to show the harddrive temp in the sys tray, but dtemp cant read the hdd temp on my HP
And an another program for showing the cpu load or/and cpu clock in the sys tray..? tried NHC 2 pre 06, but it hangs when I go to settings to configure the program..
if there are any good, alternate webcam programs that I can download. The one that came pre-installed on my Vaio FW is lacking a lot of functions (insists that I pay for the features).

Unable to run bootcamp, or any xp/vista/7 on my friend's computer.
I have this new program that I want to load on my E drive but its not working. When I click properties it says used space 585mb and free space 0 bytes.
Isnt it supposed to say that? lol I've never had a problem with the e drive b4 so I dont know whats wrong. Whenever I try to run the program it says access is denied.
I registered online w/ my service tag a while ago. Will they be sending it out tomorrow and do u have to pay shipping and handling

Friday 10/9/09 We priced out our orders and made an order. Something happened with my DPA and the following series happened:
1) My order was cancelled.
2) My DPA was put on hold pending validation.
3) I spent 3 hours *that night* trying to figure out what was going on and nobody
would tell me until I finally got a hold of some one telling me that this all occurred because my initial rep put in "Avenue" instead of "Street" on my DPA setup.
The rep I'm on the phone with that finally spills those beans tells me that she can't help me recreate the order because she isn't EPP, and EPP is closed

when i put my recovery discs in, i cant sem how to use them.
i cant run program or anything, i cant seem how to use them.
for some reason i can only get bluray discs to run on the acer arcade thing and windows media centre(which just turns acer arcade and plays it through that)
iv tried vlc player and windows media player 1 and neither work
also my partitions are 140gb each.
im guessing the other is for storeing stuff and backups.
but how can i make it so i have like 250gb for the first partition and only 30-40gb for the second one?
