Faced with the problem. No sound after the laptop. When you try to check the sound device, a window pops up "the device is already in use by another application." But no program is not running. After rebooting the laptop sound occurs. Drivers are all set.
Audio device Realtek ALC269
Win 7 Pro SP1 (x64)Â with all updates
Motherboard 20208
Chipset Intel Panther Point HM77
BIOS Version H5ET84WW(1.22)Â (11/26/2013)
UEFI boot mode, not Legacy.Drivers for sound downloaded from realtek.com.tw. With standard windows drivers sound is always there. Tried the previous version of the drivers - ineffectually. Could it be that the problem is due to the UEFI boot mode? I do not want to reinstall the OS mode Legacy just to check it out.
I have an HP ENVY 15t-j100 Quad Edition running Windows 7. Its card reader is not working. When I insert an SD card, I get a message that the device is not installed properly. Windows prompts me to update the driver, so I have let it, but it cannot find the driver. In the Device Manager, with the SD card inserted, it shows under "Other devices" a "Disk drive" with a yellow "!" symbol.  The device status reads:
Â
"The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)
Â
To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver."
Â
I have tried to update the driver from there, but again no driver is reported to be found.
Â
By the way, the Device Manager says that the Realtek PCIE CardReader is working properly. I have updated its driver using sp66065.exe, but there is no difference. The card reader is still not reading, nor is there a drive letter showing up for the inserted card.
Â
If I disable the Realtek PCIE CardReader, then the "Other devices," "Disk drive" in the Device Manager goes away. But the card reader is not functioning all the same. If I enable the card reader, the same error returns with a yellow '!"  under the "Other devices," "Disk drive" in the Device Manager,
i bought a new hp envy 15t-j100 (window's 8 64bit ). during installation of some program i installed another windows start menu (i thought it is windown 7 start menu for windows 8) but i discovered after that it is a windows 8 start menu for windows 7. this caused my computer to stop showing anything after starting up. i restarted it many times but nothing is showing on the screen except the mouse cursor .i don't have any backup recovery for my computer.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy hp envy can't detect the external monitor. I tried to re - install the graphic drivers (hd 4600 / Geforce 740m)...
It used to work and all of a sudden it stopped. My only assumption is that the HDMI output itself is not functioning.
Windows 8.1 Pro does not recognize Touchsmart. This work like a mouse when I click on the display. In properties of system, says that won't have a pen and touch.

I have a new HP ENVY TouchSmart 17T-J100. I do not see a num lock on or off indicator light. Prior computer keyboards have had such an indicator light. Is there one, or are we to figure out if num lock feature is on or off by trial and error?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have recently purchased an HP ENVY 15t-j100 Quad Edition CTO Notebook Windows 7 Professional (PC Product #: E1P05AV). I'll usually close the lid to put it into sleep mode when I have to do something else. But when I open it back up, it has the "Start windows normally or safe mode" sreen. I've noticed that this only happens after a certain amount of time of being in sleep mode. If I wake it up prior to that, it works just fine. I hope that this can be resolved since this is a brand new laptop.

View 3 Replies View Relatedyesterday I had a problem with my HP Envy 15t-j100 suddenly it became deadly slow!! a similar behavior after I reinstall windows 8.1 and in that time installing the Intel Management Engine Interface (MEI) Driver located in the drivers list for my laptop [URL].
Yesterday I reinstalled the driver again and that solve the problem, I was wondering is there is an update for this driver anywhere? I tried with HP Support Assistant and with Intel Driver Utility [URL]no luck so far.
Windows 8 64 bitProduct Number: E9G80UAI recently bought this about 4 months ago and it did fine for a little while. But recently it would do this annoying glitch. The screen would act as if I am pressing the screen somewhere in the middle of it and selecting anything within it's range. This may not seem so bad by the sounds of it, but if you're playing a video or are on a website with links in that area it will either click on a link or stop/play videos. It's very annoying!
Troubleshooting: At first I thought it might be my touchpad, so I made sure I didn't touch it during these times. But it would still do it even if I'm not touching the laptop. So if I were to only use my wireless mouse to go through webpages or whatever, it would still do the phantom clicking.I then thought maybe it's my wireless mouse, so I disconnected the USB receiver from the laptop and it still does it.I then tried getting tech support online with HP and they accessed my computer and tried a few things like removing the touchpad driver and whatnot with no results. He eventually told me I would have to send it to them to have it repaired (still in warranty). However, I don't have the time to send my laptop to them for repairs.
My final thought was to disable the touch screen. Which I did by going to device managers and disabling one of the HID options. I had several, so I had to try each one since none were labeled as touch screen, but only as HID compliant device. This has worked so far and it hasn't clicked anywhere yet.
I thought about updating the driver, but I can't find it on the HP site and when I try to update driver through device manager it says that it has the best driver available, which most of the time is BS. I guess I just need to know where I can find the true driver for the touch screen.
when i hook up my second monitor useing the hdmi port and switch the monitor mode to extend the audio stops working. The volume mixer still shows audio movement but will not output the audio.

View 4 Replies View RelatedToday, I tried connecting an external display to my HP ENVY TouchSmart 15 laptop, via a USB hub, only to discover that using the touch screen points at the corresponding part of the external display rather than the inbuilt one (the displays are being extended). Can this be changed?
Â
I'm using the same 64-bit Windows 8 installation and drivers that the computer came with.
When I connect my laptop to my tv the sound does no come out the tv, but remains coming out the pc speakers. it is not a cable issue as my other hp laptop works fine. i can't find a setting to change it to hdmi audio output.

I have an HP Envy dv7-7230us.  I recently installed multiple HP updates deemed "critical" by their prompt.  After installing and rebooting, I have no sound.  If it is a clue, it also disconnected my WiFi.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI had sound coming from my speakers yesterday, but today none at all. What is going on HP?
View 9 Replies View RelatedBasically, I donwload the new audio driver and there would be sound only on the right speaker. However, when the computer is shut down or reset the speakers will not work.
Â
what else can I do? FYI I am using windows 8-64bit.Â
I use my laptop almost everyday, and it has been fine up until today. I have an HP Envy dv4. I rarely shut it down--I usually just close the lid and leave it like that until I'm ready to use it again. Today, when I opened it and logged in, I went to Youtube. However, no sound will play. I didn't have this problem the last time I used the PC, and can't figure out what's wrong. I don't have any sound with headphones plugged in, and I don't have any sound when I try to use just the PC speakers.Â
Â
I've already made sure the sound  is definitely on--I have muted it and unmuted it several times, raised and lowered the volume by using the f9 and f10 keys, and nothing happens. I've tried playing media that is stored on my PC, and no sound there either. I've also tried using Rosetta Stone, and it won't open because it says it can't find any sound output.Â
Â
I have restarted the computer several times, scanned for viruses, and scanned for updates. Nothing has worked.
I have a problem with my HP ENVY m6 laptop (Running Windows 8) regarding sound on my headphones. Just as recent as today, when I plugged in my headphones no sound came through. I tried another pair, but got the same result. This laptop is only about 4 and a half months old (Got it in mid-January), and this is a real bummer.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI just bought a hp envy  m6-1105dx (windows 8) yesterday and as i was setting it up, I realized that the music volume in winamp got loud all of the sudden and they it went down again. It happens with every song. I downloaded the new sound drivers but the problem is still there. I read about this problem in other types of envy laptops but I did not see anything regarding my particular laptop.

I have tried the following fixes with the following results:
1) run troubleshooter - audio services not running. Unable to start it; error states endpoint is duplicate
2) update drivers - no fix (IDT High Definition Audio CODEC -Â 6.10.6433.0)
3) Change System Sounds - fails to play test tone
4) Device Manager - shows the system is running
5) Restore - no fix
I've recently noticed a problem with my PC's speakers not working. I'm not entirely sure what causes them to stop working, but if I remember correctly, the first time I remember it happening was after I had my computer plugged into the TV via an HDMI cable. Since then, the speakers seem to come and go. I think restarting my computer usually brings them back, but I was curious if there was another way to fix them other than that and if I could do something to keep this from happening in the future. Also, I'm interested in finding out why this is happening to my PC.

I have an HP ENVY dv6 Notebook PC...
Got this brand new notebook the other day. LOVE IT however I noticed when a web site is loading or a song is just playing and I'm doing nothing the audio will hiss, pop, or hiccup. It's not bad but really annoying and a high end laptop shouldn't be doing this. I have tried reinstalling the IDT drivers, reload windows, disable enhancements. I also stopped the IDT service from loading when windows starts but this still persists. Gonna try just using the vista drivers. My specs are:

I have uninstalled/re-installed the driver, rebooted, and still no sound. Â When I right-click Speakers/HP, and Test - the pop-up says Device in Use. Â There are no legit applications using the device. Â I have been running Windows Defender since I used the official HP Recovery Discs I ordered. Â I have not visited questionable websites, yet, it looks like I have malware? Â
I use an HP ENVY M6 notebook running Windows 8.1, 64 bit. I was seeing a lot of unwanted popups telling me I needed Java or other add ons which I don't. The computer is less than a month old. I went to that day's downloads and deleted everything I found from that day. Since then, I have no sound. I probably deleted something but I thought I was pretty careful. Can I download a sound card?
