View 1 RepliesMy laptop hp mini 110-3605tu model number is facing stuck after windows 7 installation load. It has no recovery hard drive as hard drive is fully formatted. i want to flash my bios because i know bios is corrupted. How can i flash my bios using usb drive. What is the bios manufacturer company so that i can flash my bios using non windows application ....
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a compaq presario CQ56 - 154CA laptop. I wiped the hard drive using DriveCleanser in TrueImage Home 2011 and then attempted to load the recovery manager with F11 (or F10 or whatever it is), but now all I get is a red screen with the big Q logo with "press ESC for startup menu" on the bottom left and it just hangs there. I did wipe the Win7 and the System partitions, but not the Recovery partition. I did do a backup of those 3 partitions onto my external drive, but the laptop won't boot from a bootable flash drive I made in True Image, nor any of my boot CD's. And I did set the bios to boot from flash first, then DVD, then hard drive before wiping.
I didn't make the recovery DVD's with Recovery Manager in Win7, but I shouldn't need them since the Recovery partition is still there.
I've read that some Compaq laptops use a utility on the hard drive to load the bios, startup menu etc, so if that is the case with mine then it was thoroughly deleted. If this is the case, is there any way I can get it back on the drive?
If not, I could try to remove the drive and put it in an ext enclosure and hook it up to my desktop. It's possible that I can use the flash drive to use True Image to restore the two wiped partitions. Also, I've read that in this instance, removing the drive and then turning on the laptop may allow the bios to load, but I'd really rather not take out the drive if I don't have to.
The laptop won't power on. I've tried it with and without the battery. I've tried it with just the power cord. The light near the power cord lights up. When I press the power button it flashes once there and on the CapsLock key, then goes dark. I've tried removing the battery and power cord, holding down the power button for a minute, then plugging in the power cord. Same result.
View 3 Replies View RelatedEverytime I go onto the internet, try to download something, try to open a new tab my Laptop will freeze, and usually it will not let me open the task manager when I press CTRL + ALT + DEL. I have run virus scans with Norton (I am still in my free 90 day trial) and no threats have been found, I have done disc defragmenter, I have scanned the computer for errors, I have performed disc clean ups and why it is still freezing. I have also changed my Internet browser from Internet Explorer to Mozilla Firefox and I still seem to have the same problems.why it keeps freezing.

This same password has worked fine for 2 years. I do not have a backup. What can i do?
Okay, so. I have an HP Pavilion g6-1145sg. It was working properly all morning, and then I put it to sleep temporarily (about ten to twenty minutes). When I went to turn it on, the screen was black and said something along the lines of "the system has detected that a cooling fan is not operating correctly. Continued operation would not be recommended at this time... may cause unpredictable behaviour that could result in random shut down, data loss or possible system damage."
Then after a few seconds it shuts off completely. There is an option to continue with system resume, and I clicked it once, but it didn't go all the way through to letting me use my laptop properly (I got to my desktop background and it shut down).
I have had it since last August, and it has worked somewhat alright through until today. Of course, the system lags occasionally, but nothing serious, mostly just aggravating.
I just bought my HP Pavilion 360 less than a month ago and it's only been used for schoolwork and research. No virus or threats were detected. It was working fine today until I had to charge it. When it was fully charged, I turned it on and the screen just froze. I tried shutting it down by pressing the power button but it didn't work. Now, the screen's just black but the power button's lit up (meaning it's turned on). What do I do?

My problem is that my laptop suddenly powers off while running, not hibernating - total shutdown without any error or warning or anything. It just goes blank and dont turn on again until i connect it with its charger. Low battery is not the problem cause it doesnt give low battery error even battery sign shows that i have enough battery to work about next 30 mins.
I bought this laptop of your company pavilion p077tx 3 weeks ago........... in the starting it worked fine but now every time when I switch it on it freezes after 5 mins, I have to use the power button to turn it off....... what should I do??
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Hp pavilion dv6700 series (dv6840el) and it just won't boot without the battery attached.
If i plug the AC adapter, i get some computer activity (fan, dvd drive noise and HD drive spins) for about 5 seconds and then shuts down.
Once i plug the battery (which is dying, needing a replacement), the laptop boots fine.
So, my question is: is this a motherboard or an AC adapter issue?
The AC adapter seems ok, though. But if i'm considering to buy a spare battery, i must make sure that i don't need a new AC adapter as well.
When I power on my HP laptop it is asking me for an admin password and I clearly don't know it. After 3 attempts I get a system disable with a key: 61773846What do I do to unlock this??

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just got around to trying out this laptop from a few years back. It was stored and before that it had only been used a few times.
It's been freezing *every* time I use it. Mouse just freezes in place and it's stuck. I tried doing a fresh install with all of the system disks and it still froze. I then tried to upgrade it to Windows 7, it still froze and it was pretty slow, so I did another fresh install with the system disks. Now I'm back to WinXP and it's still freezing.
I checked the event logs and it doesn't seem to register anything - maybe freezing too quickly? It seems to freeze whenever I do heavy web browsing or transferring files on my network via wireless, But I can't be sure and that might be a false lead, it just seems to happen when I'm doing those.
I think it may be a broken fan, The center fan runs smoothly, but the fan with the cooling unit on the side never seems to run at all. Is there any way to tell if the fan is broken? Is there any way to manually make it run so I can check if it's working? Should it be on all the time, or does it only come on when it gets hot?
The model is a HP Pavilion 15-n278sa. My laptop shuts down randomly when it is clearly completely cool, when it has shutdown, the power button will not respond, and the laptop will flash on, and shutdown immediately if it is moved/picked up/tilted, while it is off.The laptop is increasingly getting more unstable and I'm unable to use it...
View 8 Replies View RelatedI purchased this new HP laptop a couple weeks ago. Since new, I've noticed that it frequently freezes up with "NOT RESPONDING" in the upper frame.
I researched a few other posts similar & tried to do the processes, but they did nothing.
FYI - Did the sfc /scannow .... When finished it did say "resource protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them"
I then went and did the local disc C - check the drive for errors. It came back with NO ISSUES? I then did a defrag just for fun, and it said no fragmented files or issues?
I am having HP Pavilion DV6 6140Tx . Installed Windows 8 Enterprise Edition and updated drivers using drivers for Windows 7 64x from HP site
The problem is that, when i shutdown my laptop, it doesnt shutsdown, it turns off the screen, but not the processor, fan, touchpad, the light and fan movement is ON and it never shuts down. Then I have forcibly press n hold the Power button to shut it down !
It also has a delayed Startup issue! But Restart function just works fine..!
I don't graphics drivers installed on the system - its AMD ATI RADEON 6700M HD - no compatible drivers available !
I was using my brother's Compaq Presario V4000 laptop a few days ago, everything seemed fine but when I finished using it, it wouldn't shut down, I didn't know what to do so I just used the power button to turn it off. Then when I tried to turn it on, Windows (XP) would not load, it only gets as far as the screen with the Compaq logo. Between the time the Windows logo appears and the Compaq screen, a message appears that says something like "the computer did not shut down properly" or something to the effect, and it gives me several choices, but whatever choice I make I get taken to the Compaq screen and no further. If I choose safe mode a bunch of gibberish appears all the way down the screen and after a few seconds the screen goes black with the words "Safe Mode" appearing in four corners of the screen, I can move the mouse pointer around but nothing happens.
This laptop is several years old but it's rarely used, I've only been using it the past several months to upload files to my web server so I doubt that it would be a virus or something like that.
after reading [url]i just wonder if there is any dell i7 laptop with i7-920xm cpu, working under 100% cpu for over 6 hours a day, with no throttling issue, no over heat issue(max cpu temperature under 85C in 25C room), no overloud fan noise issue(fan noise no more than 40db)?

About a week ago my web browsers stopped working. I'm running Vista and I use FireFox. I also have Internet Explorer but neither of them will load any web page when i go to them. I know my connection is working because I can use any other program that requires internet. I've been told that I have a virus. I've ran Malwarebytes, RKill, Avast!, CCleaner, Advanced System Care, and I've tried a system restore but nothing has worked.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a Inspirion N5050 laptop. A few weeks ago, it started running slow and Adchoices ads appeared. I removed them. I ran a scan using AVG, which detected nothing. I shut down the laptop as a precaution. Now it will not load Windows. I press the power button, the dell logo appears, then I hear what I think is the hard drive click, then the screen goes dark for a second, then the logo and a click and so on and so on. I am able to get to the menus with f2 and f12, what to do next. Safe mode will not respond ( I cannot get into it).
