After being closed for a short time when I open my pavilion g6-1b60 I have a flashing light on cap lock and my wireless light is amber and the scren stays black.

I have a 2 yr old Pavillion G7-1329 wm with Windows 7. I use Windows antivirus and firewall along with Malwarebytes for spyware. I have noticed recently when I download or update anything, instead of restarting as before, it hangs up and after about 5 minutes it goes into hibernate and won't come out of it.
I have to do a hard power off.
I have done a couple of restore points but it doesn't solve the problem.
I do use a cooling fan to prevent overheating although it does still get quite warm.
I have a problem with my HP Pavilion 15 Notebook PC, model 15-e055st, which I purchased two months ago with Windows 8 pre-installed. I susequently upgraded the operating system to Windows 8.1 and all seemed to work OK. I then used the HP Support Assistant to do some important updates, which included the BIOS and other software. Following the HP update the computer would not Shut Down or Sleep, but Restart worked OK. When I attempt to Shut Down or Sleep, the screen goes black but the power light and the wifi light on the keyboard remain on and the fan is still operating. The machine will not recover from this situation without me first doing a hard reset by keeping the power button pressed for about five seconds.
I trıed restoring the software to the condition prior to the HP update but the problem still existed. Two days ago I refreshed the computer, which rolled the operating system back from Windows 8.1 to Windows 8.0 but the Shut Down/Sleep problem is still there.
My HP laptop wont load after login... Turns on fine, once I log in it just shows a black screen with cursor....

When I press the power button it flashes once there and on the CapsLock key, then goes dark. I've tried removing the battery and power cord, holding down the power button for a minute, then plugging in the power cord. Same result.
View 3 Replies View RelatedEverytime I go onto the internet, try to download something, try to open a new tab my Laptop will freeze, and usually it will not let me open the task manager when I press CTRL + ALT + DEL. I have run virus scans with Norton (I am still in my free 90 day trial) and no threats have been found, I have done disc defragmenter, I have scanned the computer for errors, I have performed disc clean ups and why it is still freezing. I have also changed my Internet browser from Internet Explorer to Mozilla Firefox and I still seem to have the same problems.why it keeps freezing.

Okay, so. I have an HP Pavilion g6-1145sg. It was working properly all morning, and then I put it to sleep temporarily (about ten to twenty minutes). When I went to turn it on, the screen was black and said something along the lines of "the system has detected that a cooling fan is not operating correctly. Continued operation would not be recommended at this time... may cause unpredictable behaviour that could result in random shut down, data loss or possible system damage."
Then after a few seconds it shuts off completely. There is an option to continue with system resume, and I clicked it once, but it didn't go all the way through to letting me use my laptop properly (I got to my desktop background and it shut down).
I have had it since last August, and it has worked somewhat alright through until today. Of course, the system lags occasionally, but nothing serious, mostly just aggravating.
I just bought my HP Pavilion 360 less than a month ago and it's only been used for schoolwork and research. No virus or threats were detected. It was working fine today until I had to charge it. When it was fully charged, I turned it on and the screen just froze. I tried shutting it down by pressing the power button but it didn't work. Now, the screen's just black but the power button's lit up (meaning it's turned on). What do I do?

My problem is that my laptop suddenly powers off while running, not hibernating - total shutdown without any error or warning or anything. It just goes blank and dont turn on again until i connect it with its charger. Low battery is not the problem cause it doesnt give low battery error even battery sign shows that i have enough battery to work about next 30 mins.
I bought this laptop of your company pavilion p077tx 3 weeks ago........... in the starting it worked fine but now every time when I switch it on it freezes after 5 mins, I have to use the power button to turn it off....... what should I do??

If i plug the AC adapter, i get some computer activity (fan, dvd drive noise and HD drive spins) for about 5 seconds and then shuts down.
Once i plug the battery (which is dying, needing a replacement), the laptop boots fine.
So, my question is: is this a motherboard or an AC adapter issue?
The AC adapter seems ok, though. But if i'm considering to buy a spare battery, i must make sure that i don't need a new AC adapter as well.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI just got around to trying out this laptop from a few years back. It was stored and before that it had only been used a few times.
It's been freezing *every* time I use it. Mouse just freezes in place and it's stuck. I tried doing a fresh install with all of the system disks and it still froze. I then tried to upgrade it to Windows 7, it still froze and it was pretty slow, so I did another fresh install with the system disks. Now I'm back to WinXP and it's still freezing.
I checked the event logs and it doesn't seem to register anything - maybe freezing too quickly? It seems to freeze whenever I do heavy web browsing or transferring files on my network via wireless, But I can't be sure and that might be a false lead, it just seems to happen when I'm doing those.
I think it may be a broken fan, The center fan runs smoothly, but the fan with the cooling unit on the side never seems to run at all. Is there any way to tell if the fan is broken? Is there any way to manually make it run so I can check if it's working? Should it be on all the time, or does it only come on when it gets hot?
The model is a HP Pavilion 15-n278sa. View 8 Replies View RelatedI purchased this new HP laptop a couple weeks ago. Since new, I've noticed that it frequently freezes up with "NOT RESPONDING" in the upper frame.
I researched a few other posts similar & tried to do the processes, but they did nothing.
FYI - Did the sfc /scannow .... When finished it did say "resource protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them"
I then went and did the local disc C - check the drive for errors. It came back with NO ISSUES? I then did a defrag just for fun, and it said no fragmented files or issues?
I try to boot my pc but get the error code 0xc000021a, then it restarts and says preparing automatic repair, then the same BSOD error pops up and the cycle continues. I've tried just about every 'fix' I could find on the internet. I purchased this computer with windows 8 pre-installed, I do not have a windows 8 repair DVD.
Upon further research I've been lead to believe it has something to do with winlogon.exe or csrss.exe, which makes sense, seeing as I cannot even log on to my computer. Other forums suggest it could be caused by 3rd party software.
As far as I can see, all I can do is access the BIOS. I have no files that can't be easily replaced so even if I could somehow factory reset it that would be great, though I'm not sure if that will fix anything or is even possible in my current position.
I re-downloaded Mozilla Foxfire and when the msg said I need to restart my computer freezes and I have a blue screen that says restarting and just hangs there.

The problem is that, when i shutdown my laptop, it doesnt shutsdown, it turns off the screen, but not the processor, fan, touchpad, the light and fan movement is ON and it never shuts down. Then I have forcibly press n hold the Power button to shut it down !
It also has a delayed Startup issue! But Restart function just works fine..!
I don't graphics drivers installed on the system - its AMD ATI RADEON 6700M HD - no compatible drivers available !

This happened to be about 10 times (the first time I spent about 3 days on the phone with a technian) already and I always have to reinstall Windows Vista to get my laptop working again. Today I found out that whenever my computer updates my video drive my screen will go blank, is this normal? What I can do to prevent this from happening again? My screen also goes blank when I install a video driver from the dell CD, but when I uninstalled it in safe mode and restart my laptop my screen is no longer blank.

The OS for 1st laptop is Win 7 Pro SP1 and the other one is Win XP Pro SP3.

View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter i uninstalled Android Studio last night, I was prompted to restart my laptop to apply changes. I clicked yes, after the reboot however I no longer had my full screen display(1280x800) and there is a black bar to the right side of the screen.
I have tried updating/uninstall/reinstalling my graphics driver(Intel Hd Graphics 3000) and the bar is still there. No option to scaling,(set at Maintain Display Scaling)
I tried taking a picture to display the black bar on m monitor using print screen but the black bar does not show when I paste into paint.
OS: Windows 8.1 64 bit
