Acer Aspire R7-572 :: Touch Screen Will Start Registering A Click In The Very Upper Left Corner
Feb 20, 2015
I recently purchased an Acer Aspire R7-572-6423 touchscreen notebook. It works great for the most part except for the touchscreen seems to glitch out every once in a while. What happens is out of nowhere the touch screen will start registering a click in the very upper left corner of the screen (as seen by the Windows 8 touch visual feedback) even though I am not touching the screen. The clicking happens very fast (several times a second) and makes the notebook unusuable.
I can make the clicking stop by touching and holding my finger on the screen near where the clicking is happening. However, as soon as I lift my finger, the clicking resumes.
To fix the issue, I have to do a touch screen calibration (Windows settings -> Tablet PC Settings -> Calibrate -> Touch input). However, the calibration appears to be off using this method (I cannot swipe the windows 8 bar to the right) so I then do a calibration reset (Tablet PC Settings -> Reset). This generally resolves the issue for a while.
I have tried moving the screen into different positions and cleaning the screen but the issue still comes back on occasion.
HP Mini 110-3100. When power up, get the HP logo and then a blank screen with curser flashing upper left hand corner.
Ran diagnostics --- everything passed. Cannot get into System Recovery Cannot get into Safe Mode I do get into the Setup Utility but nothing there that fixes the problem. I do get into System information, but again, nothing there to fix this start up problem.
Estimates at local shops to fix start at minimum $110 - obviously could be higher However, Amazon selling HP Mini 110-1030NR for $110
Questions: 1. How I can recover to operate the HP MIni 110-3100 I have? 2. What are the differences in 110-3100 versus the 110-1030NR 3. If I decide to buy the -1030NR instead of having the -3100 repaired, what I am giving up and ALSO, what does the NR stand for?
I just found that my E6530 keyboard bends a little in the left upper corner. When i push a little bit harder the A or S or D key, the keys around move a little bit.
I have an old HP pavilion dv5 laptop wish won't start up, fan works power light on screen is on but blank with just curser dash top left corner, now I've took hard drive out and tryed starting in BIOS no joy took ram out and I get 3 bleeps when I turn on ....
The left click on my 3690 has quit working, and when I use the touch pad to control the cursor,it drags a blue box around.I tried uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling but I get the same problem.I also tried to update the drivers with no luck.I think it's a hardware problem.Any other suggestions?I wouldn't worry about it,but I use it to run my GPS,and I can't use a mouse in my vehicle.
I recently upgraded my Z580 to Windows 8.1 x64 from Windows 8x64
Some Windows 8.1 drivers work, for some things I had to use Windows 8 drivers
But the touchpad isn't registering a two finger click as a right click on either of the drivers. It used to work fine on Windows 8 but I have to use the button to right click which is uncomfortable. Two finger scrolling works fine, pinch zoom gesture works fine, even Windows 8 screen edge gestures work perfectly...
I've recently purchases a Lenovo ThinkPad Edge 540 and it worked just fine untill earlyer today. While i was browsing the internet, some how my touchpad developed a problem. It only registeres right click where ever i click.I've deleted the drivers, even tho they were the knewest ones, downloaded a fresh .exe and installed it after the reset and what not and it still has the same problem.
If i turn off the touchpad in the ultranav software and enable only trackapad, the buttons work like they should, the large area in the touchpad registeres as the left click and the small area in the top right is registered as the right click. Tho i can't use the touchpad for navigation. So clicking doesn't works, well neither does tapping. I can doubletap normaly, but i cannot tap and drag such as selecting a block of text.
Again, i've already tried a fresh install of ultranav drivers and it didn't work. The problem manifested itself during normal browsing, nothing was installed nor changed hardware vise. It litteraly changed in a second.how to solve it since the driver reinstall didn't work.
I received my M6400 with 1920 x 1200 RGB LED Display, I just noticed that at the Left Bottom corner there is an Orange type color shadow, just on top of the Start buttom in the taskbar, is this normal ? do I have to ask Dell for a replacement ?, do I need to do any color adjustment configuration ?
Although I'm using my X1 Carbon since September 2012 and work with it every day for at least 8 hours, I still can't get used to the Trackpad: the biggest problem is that I accidentally right-click all the time, because when clicking in the lower right corner of the Trackpad, it's a right-click. On a 'normal' Trackpad, this would not be a problem, because there would be some physical divider that would give my fingers feedback on when I've reached the right-click-area...
The solution would be to disable the corner click completely since I'm not using it anyway. Unfortunately, the respective "Configure"-button is disabled in my UltraNav tool window. See the screenshot:
Is there any way, I can disable this "corner click" manually? I'm not afraid of hacking the registry or some config files.
Recently I noticed that my touch screen sometimes starts to hits randomly at the bottom of the screen. This problem cause some windows became minimize and maximize on its own and when i'm watching video, the video keep pause, play and pause again. I tried to find any crack on the screen but found nothing.
My Acer Aspire One 10.1 notebook wont boot. All I get is a black screen with microsoft corporation written under neith a rectangle, where a green bar sliding from left to right should appear, but doesn't. What do I need to do?
I have reinstalled win7 on my c drive using another computer. The hard drive booted on that computer. Which leads me to believe some thing is missing.
My laptop touch screen doesn't work consistently. my laptop suppose to have "full windows touch support with 10 touch points", but then when i checked out my pc info, it says "limited only".
All of a sudden my touch screen of Aspire R7 has stopped working. I have done system restore but still not luck. There is no Tablet PC Settings in my control Panel. What should I do? It has happened on its own and I am confused what to do?
first my left click is stuck and is sunk in below my touch pad Im not sure how to fix this and another problem is my battery doesnt charge at all should i try to get a new battery?.....
I just got a Acer Aspire V3 771-6605 with Windows 8.1. My touch pad wouldn't scroll or respond to any finger gestures, so I tried installing the ELANTECH and Synaptics touch pad drivers from the acer support site for my laptop. However, after I restarted the computer I keep getting stuck at the screen right before where you put in your password (the lock screen?). The only keys that seem to do anything are the function keys.
I watched a movie on Thursday evening and closed the lid of my acer aspire E531 laptop. (Chosen shut down method) I wanted to resume working about 2 hours later and was greeted by only a grey screen. Machine powers up but then just the blank screen. After switching on, the fan starts for about 30 seconds and then stops and then the blank (grey like screen)
I've tried some solutions posted on internet ( remove battery and hold power button; press ctr alt del twice; press F8 on start up) Nothing worked. The remove battery solution ignited some response from the machine, i.e. grey screen seemed to turn white with feint blocks in background almost checkered blocks, but very very feint.
How do I go about getting a new touchpad from Dell on an in-warranty laptop? My left-click button incessantly sticks. It is not a software issue, and I am well within my warranty. I have already done the software trouble-shooting. It is a hardware issue and I'm relatively certain I need a new touchpad.
I have a problem with double clicking. (assume that all clicking is the left click) It is most apparent on the internet, when I hit the back button once, I go back two pages. Its annoying, but now i'm having trouble highlighting, and other important tasks. I do know about keyboard alternatives, but the mouse is just more convenient.
This problem started soon after my laptop survived having orange juice spilled onto it.
I have done my own research, and most forums state a software problem, but I am sure that I have a mechanical problem. I noticed that there is an "upstroke" and a "downstroke" to my click. When I click, that is the downstroke, the mouse performs as it's supposed to; but when I lift my finger, there is a second click that I did not intend, the upstroke. I've tested this on button clicking games on my laptop, and on other computers.
I have owned my Dell M1330 notebook PC (specs in signature below) for over 4 years. Several weeks ago, the left and right-click touchpad buttons stopped working. The touchpad itself seems to be operating normally. I surmise I inadvertently deactivated the touchpad. I checked the manual, but it did not reveal how to reactivate (or deactivate) the touchpad buttons. How to reactivate the touchpad buttons, such as using the shortcut keys? I read one post in a PC forum of a similar situation; in that situation, the user's touchpad cable had come loose, but I understand this is a rare occurrence. How to reactivate the touchpad left and right-click buttons.
I am encountering serious problems with my Thinkpad Edge E520.
The left-mouse-click function of my UltraNav and Touchpad are not working anymore. The buttons are clicking normally, but do not have any functionality.
I am using a dual boot system with Win7 Home Premium SP1 and Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS... I did several checks:
Touchpad navigation and right-click button working properly Touchpad left-click-button clicking properly, but no functionality Touchpad click functionality not working
UltraNav Trackpoint and rickt-click-button working properly UltraNav left-click-button clicking properly, but no functionality Switching to Left-handed setup results in a properly working right-click-button with left-click function for Touchpad and UltraNav
External USB mouse working properly with Win7 External USB mouse not working properly with Ubuntu (no left-click functionality)
Fresh format and reinstall of dual boot system - problems remaining ... Since the behavious is the same with Win7 and Ubuntu and also remains after a fresh installation of both OS, I assume it is a hardware defect!?
Just had my Aspire E15 for a month and even though the power supply lights are on it fails to start up and just have a blank screen with the pointer mouse on.
i have a 2 day old laptop Aspire E1 with windows 7 wont start after welcome page screen stays black until i push ctrl alt del and then the task manager will start and i kill two procsess that say RUN ONCE then windows GO HEAD and start up and run fine .what is wrong .
dell 5547/win 8.1 touchpad left click not responding correctly randomly, not all times, left click not work and both clicks respond as right click sometimes once or twice a week….or two or three times a day.
latest driver updated and also driver uninstall and re-install OS format and reinstall but problem still there.
