So i was cleaning my Studio XPS 16 and somehow the microfiber ripped the letter E on my outside Dell logo in chrome.
It ruined my damn day! So, can i get these letters anywhere?
I'm talking about the clear plastic filter in front of the actually LCD panel.
I notice that more and more dust particules managed to get in between the plastic filter and the panel.
Right now, it's not a big problem. But you can easily imagine it will become one when, a year or two from now, sizeable amount of dust particules get stuck all over the screen
I have a dv4-1430... It wont boot after it fell down from a table. I am trying to figure out what could have went wrong.
When I power on, it starts and I can see microsoft corporation Text at the bottom, but I dont see vista logo..it keeps on trying to load Vista with no use.
My question is, could it be the problem with hard drive , or mother board?
if the Dell logo on the Studio XPS 16 lid is the same size as the XPS M series logos? The logo on my Studio XPS started to peel and a part of the 'E' actually broke off in the 4th day of ownership... I spoke to Dell and they want to replace the entire screen (!!) but I'm not sure if I want to deal with the hassle. I can get a relacement logo for the XPS M series but I'm not sure if it's the same size.

My "open Box" aspire 8920 (Vista) wont startup.. but the Acer Arcade Deluxe will (without starting Windows)
When I exit Acer Arcade Deluxe, the screen shows a logo like XP but says only "Microsoft Windows Hibernating"
My Vista Logo has a round background where XP does not!

Have the replacement cards been defective as the stock ones? Are the replacement 8600M GT cards better built to withstand heating? Has Nvidia fixed the silicone issues?

Have been advised that the 7900gtx card no longer is replaced and that i would need to take the 7950gtx.
This is out of stock, back order of 25 units.
My 1555 was bought back in August last year with Vista pre-installed and free Windows 7 upgrade. Everything went really well with the upgrade except now the Vista sticker is now starting to bugging me.
Can somebody describe to be what the new Windows 7 laptop sticker looks like? (Or even better if you could post a photo?) There are some available for sale on ebay quite cheaply but I'm not sure if they're genuine?
so who here has the a firepro logo in their catalyst control center rather than a radeon one? This makes no sense! Is it a common thing?

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I open the lid to the laptop and hit the power button, the 3 buttons on the top of the keyboard cycle through and the power comes on, but the only thing that happens next is the screen turns on with a slight brightness, but it doesn't load any further. It doesn't even load to the Dell logo. If I tap the power button again, all lights and monitor goes off with a beep noise.
I have taken the battery out, unplugged the power cord and held the power button for over 15 seconds. This did not do anything.
I received my new Inspiron Utrabook today . Everything was fine for the first time that I booted. When I tried booting the second time, it's stuck on the Dell screen. Tried hitting F2 as per the suggested posts but to no avail. And how do you remove the battery ?

In the evening I could use it with no problem, other than it unexpectedly disconnected from the wifi once, but otherwise it was OK.
This morning it didn't start at all, when I press power button the Dell logo appears, and it stays like that forever, nothing happens. The power and the Wifi LEDs are on, when the charger is connected, the LED is on too.
Tried to remove battery, but still no joy.
I just bought my Inspiron 14z Ultrabook three days ago. The first time works fine, but now it's frozen on the Dell logo screen.
I have been able to run a diagnostic test if I hit the f12, and it's all ok.
When I hit f8 and the bar is fully loaded nothing happens.
I have a 14z that I purchased last August with Windows 7. It freezes at the DELL logo, and I cannot even do a F2 or F12 to try and get to any of the advanced menus.

I've tried to research this situation and it seems this is a problem with these specific laptops. However, no solutions (like removing battery and ac adapter, pressing power for 1-2 min, reconnecting ac adapter, etc.) that seem to work for others have worked on mine yet. I'm concerned and starting to get extremely frustrated as I've only had this laptop for a month and a half. I'm a nursing student who has many tasks to complete on my (nearly BRAND NEW) computer daily and have a pretty nonexistent budget (which would explain my hesitancy to take it in for repairs somewhere).

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have an XPS 13 (L322X) running Windows 8. Yesterday I turned it off with the proper "Shut down" function. Willing to restart it, it never did.
Similarly to the post but without Windows 8 update (nor of other software)!
"I see the Dell logo, then it goes dark (but the screen is on, i can see LED glow at the edge of the screen), nothing happens anymore. If I hit the ESC or Return key I see a progress bar near the bottom of the screen and 'F12 Boot Options' at the lower right corner. There is no indication in the progress bar, so I do not know whether it is showing 0% or 100%. If I do Ctrl-Alt-Delete the laptop starts all over again, Dell logo, dark screen, hit any key, progress bar... and that's it. Hitting the Power button does the same thing, whether I hit it once or hit-and-hold."
I also tried the F12 key, but nothing moves after the "on hold" progress bar. I cannot disconnect the battery, yesterday I unplugged the power adapter and let it run out of battery, restarted but nothing changed.
The only thing I can do is with F2 entering the BIOS but since I am not a tech, I didn't trust to make changes there.
where to find these? i'm using HDX16 now i'm lost these after upgrading to windows 7
