I have received by new XPS 1645 on 2-Apr-2010
Yesterday while cleaning the laptop lid (thanks to its fingerprint magnet nature) the E and L letters of the DELL logo came off.
Please tell from where can i get the sticker replaced ??

I have a 14z that I purchased last August with Windows 7. It freezes at the DELL logo, and I cannot even do a F2 or F12 to try and get to any of the advanced menus.
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy Inspiron N5030 Laptop won't boot it gets stuck after the Dell logo. Then a "_" sign appears at the top left corner of the screen and then it just hangs.
I have already tried the Dell CD and run diagnostics with no problems found. Could it be a software issue or hardware as in malfunctioned hdd?
Yesterday i have received my new Laptop Inspiron N3542 with Ubuntu. I have installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit and on OS installation completes, laptop reboots continiously on DELL logo.
Troubleshooting:
1. Performed a diagnostic test from BIOS under F12 - Passed all hardware test and no failure.
2. Tried with Windows home basic and Windows Professional 64 bit no luck.
3. In BIOS only option available is AHCI.
Inspiron 15R SE 7520..When I attempt to start my laptop it goes to the Dell logo screen and will not boot Windows 8. I've had the computer less than a month and if I have to restore the system completely it will not cause much of a problem.
View 16 Replies View RelatedI am currently using windows 8 as my OS. When I attempt to start my laptop the Dell logo flashes on the screen and the screen turns blank/black and sits there for a few min before displaying an empty bar and F12 Boot Options in the bottom right hand corner.
I have attempted to press F12 to try and load windows in safe mode but everything is frozen at this point.
Is there a way to determine if its a hardware issue or windows issue. When I searched for the issue I found some with a similar issue but the link provided for support was no longer valid
I bought a new dell inspiron n5050 around 5 months back !!!! it is not starting!!! the dell logo is coming and again it is repeating the same thing !!! i installed xp in the laptop so it is working !!! Earlier i used windows 7 ultimate!!!! But when again installed win 7 it had been installed but again i am facing same problem!!! i have tried change all in boot options but im facing same problem !!! The dell logo is visible again and again but no result!!!

My "open Box" aspire 8920 (Vista) wont startup.. but the Acer Arcade Deluxe will (without starting Windows)
When I exit Acer Arcade Deluxe, the screen shows a logo like XP but says only "Microsoft Windows Hibernating"
My Vista Logo has a round background where XP does not!
if the Dell logo on the Studio XPS 16 lid is the same size as the XPS M series logos? The logo on my Studio XPS started to peel and a part of the 'E' actually broke off in the 4th day of ownership... I spoke to Dell and they want to replace the entire screen (!!) but I'm not sure if I want to deal with the hassle. I can get a relacement logo for the XPS M series but I'm not sure if it's the same size.

Can somebody describe to be what the new Windows 7 laptop sticker looks like? (Or even better if you could post a photo?) There are some available for sale on ebay quite cheaply but I'm not sure if they're genuine?

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I open the lid to the laptop and hit the power button, the 3 buttons on the top of the keyboard cycle through and the power comes on, but the only thing that happens next is the screen turns on with a slight brightness, but it doesn't load any further. It doesn't even load to the Dell logo. If I tap the power button again, all lights and monitor goes off with a beep noise.
I have taken the battery out, unplugged the power cord and held the power button for over 15 seconds. This did not do anything.
I received my new Inspiron Utrabook today . Everything was fine for the first time that I booted. When I tried booting the second time, it's stuck on the Dell screen. Tried hitting F2 as per the suggested posts but to no avail. And how do you remove the battery ?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a problem with my brand new Dell Inspiron 15R SE, that I bought yesterday.
In the evening I could use it with no problem, other than it unexpectedly disconnected from the wifi once, but otherwise it was OK.
This morning it didn't start at all, when I press power button the Dell logo appears, and it stays like that forever, nothing happens. The power and the Wifi LEDs are on, when the charger is connected, the LED is on too.
Tried to remove battery, but still no joy.
I just bought my Inspiron 14z Ultrabook three days ago. The first time works fine, but now it's frozen on the Dell logo screen.
I have been able to run a diagnostic test if I hit the f12, and it's all ok.
When I hit f8 and the bar is fully loaded nothing happens.
When I press the power button it will flash the dell logo then go black and sit there as long as I let it like that without changing. I've tried to research this situation and it seems this is a problem with these specific laptops. However, no solutions (like removing battery and ac adapter, pressing power for 1-2 min, reconnecting ac adapter, etc.) that seem to work for others have worked on mine yet. I'm concerned and starting to get extremely frustrated as I've only had this laptop for a month and a half. I'm a nursing student who has many tasks to complete on my (nearly BRAND NEW) computer daily and have a pretty nonexistent budget (which would explain my hesitancy to take it in for repairs somewhere).

However now when I go to start it up it gets stuck at the Dell Logo screen, sometimes the bar fills up and it goes to a black screen. And the bios don´t load, only show a loading bar but never loads, i try removing the battery and turn it on only connected to the electricity did not work. always hear the sound of the fan but does not load the OS...

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have an XPS 13 (L322X) running Windows 8. Yesterday I turned it off with the proper "Shut down" function. Willing to restart it, it never did.
Similarly to the post but without Windows 8 update (nor of other software)!
"I see the Dell logo, then it goes dark (but the screen is on, i can see LED glow at the edge of the screen), nothing happens anymore. If I hit the ESC or Return key I see a progress bar near the bottom of the screen and 'F12 Boot Options' at the lower right corner. There is no indication in the progress bar, so I do not know whether it is showing 0% or 100%. If I do Ctrl-Alt-Delete the laptop starts all over again, Dell logo, dark screen, hit any key, progress bar... and that's it. Hitting the Power button does the same thing, whether I hit it once or hit-and-hold."
I also tried the F12 key, but nothing moves after the "on hold" progress bar. I cannot disconnect the battery, yesterday I unplugged the power adapter and let it run out of battery, restarted but nothing changed.
The only thing I can do is with F2 entering the BIOS but since I am not a tech, I didn't trust to make changes there.
