Dell :: Studio 1555 Midnight Blue Edge To Edge Display Flex Demonstration

Heres a video I made to demonstrate the ammount of flex on the edge to edge lid. It does have flex and bend, but its not as bad as the one j3n82 reported. I recorded with an iPhone so the video quality is crap. Also forgot I had left it in portrait mode when I recorded it (I didn't have a tripod so I used a cup lol). But I hope it gives some of you a basic idea of the quality. I thought openning the blinds to allow the vertical lines will show the bend/flex a lot more. I was applying quite a bit of pressure, although it doesn't seem like I was in the video. I felt as if any harder I might have damage something, or maybe pop the edge to edge screen out. I used an 8lb dumbell, I think thats the limit.
If you noticed the cloth I used to cover the keyboard when I closed the screen, I did this this to avoid getting the smudges on the screen when I pushed the lid down onto the keyboard.
At the end of the video I tried showing the Edge to Edge display, notice how theres another layer of screen over the bezel. Thats the difference between the edge to edge.
Dell :: How Accurate Are The Estimated Delivery Dates?
Apr 11, 2010My Dell Studio XPS 16 (core i7 model) was ordered april 6th. The estimated delivery date was originally 4/22/10 but yesterday I logged on to see my status and it said that my laptop was "In Production" and that the NEW estimated date of delivery is 4/14/10....that means they changed my EDD to 8 days before the ORIGINAL date. Well, the 14th is in 3 days...and my laptop is still "in production" so did dell make an error on the site? If not, does that mean that it only takes 2 or 3 days for things to get delivered?

Â I reset the date, time, country and time zone. Â It is set to sync with the internet. Â Each morning now when I power it up, the system date is "yesterday," one day behind. Â I have to manually change the date each morning. Â How can I fix this permanently. Â Other than this date glitch, it's a beautiful machine.

Jun 1, 2009I noticed that one of the best cooling pads here, the ACRyan cooling pad, ain't doing must good for this heat monster, so, I decided to DIY my own cooling device. Note that when I'm at home, I'm outputting my laptop to dual monitors, 20" and 27" Dell monitors, and connecting separate keyboard and mouse to it, speakers as well. AKA a desktop.
Materials:
1. 2 packets ice cream sticks
2. Good pair of scissors
3. White glue (hardens to clear)
4. 6V, 500mA USB Fan
Disclaimer: I'm not planning to type on the laptop while using this device. Due to the hot nature of this laptop, it's meant for cooling it while playing back 1080p movies, and games, while outputting to the monitors.

Dell :: XPS M1210 LCD Images As Water Color Picture?
Sep 5, 2009I've got an XPS M1210 with NVidia GeForce 7400 and since last week all the pictures or videos appear blurry with artifacts, … somehow like watercolor paints or with burn efect pictures.
Other observation: on the Windows locking blue screen (see below picture), instead the clear light blue on upper left corner, I can see something like a sun with round circles around effect .....

I have set up a PIN but never get the option to use it, I am only ever challenged for my Microsoft Account and password at login
I also set up a picture password but get exactly the same behaviour, i.e.I am ALWAYS challenged for my Microsoft account and password.
I have used this login feature before on my previous Surface 2 but the Venue 11 Pro (fully updated) just will not behave as expected.

Feb 15, 2013I turn on my laptop and there is no picture, the power light comes on, but no picture, it is black screen and then it is beeping continuously. This is all it will do. The battery started not keeping a charge for very long lately, but I am not sure this is what is causing the black screen and beeping. Acer :: Aspire V3-572G Picture Breaks Up After Having It On For About 30 Minutes
Sep 13, 2014this all started when I first purchased my laptop (Aspire V3-572G-54S6, Windows 8.1) when it was on sale for a great price in mid-August. I had heard great things about Acer, loved the specs and look, and was excited to get it. It arrived a few days later, took it out of the box and with the first start up my display was messed up. About 1/4 up the screen tear a little and the top of the screen was being duplicated at the bottom........never had that happen before so I got in touch with Acer support chat, I updated video drivers, rebooted, did a complete power drain, etc. The problem persisted so they had me send it in for servicing. I got it back from servicing just about 2 weeks ago, and it was fixed! Or at least it was until this past Wednesday when the problem returned. Now the problem only occurs when I've had it on for 30minutes to 1 hour, as it is fine on start up. The service log/sheet I got back with it said all they did was software updates, updated BIOS, and nothing hardware related.

The HDMI output is displaying video when in High Performance, but the screen of the laptop will only show a picture with no backlight, and can only be seen by shining a light on the screen.Â
Just started happening the last few days, I've tried a system restore (didn't allow it), tried uninstalling all of the AMD drivers and software then reinstalling with their updated drivers, as well as the same process but with the HP drivers that came with the laptop, still the same result.Is it possible for the high performance GPU to be failing some how or is this a software issue?

Works fine for video, preview of still photos perfect.Take the picture and as the photos "swooshes" to the left, you see that the saved image has a stripe about a third of the way up. For some reason, the saved image is copying the bottom 5% or so of the image, and "pasting" that slightly offset into the bottom third of the photo.

Taking a PrtSc copies a perfct image into the clipboard, (includes camera icons).
Â
Changing image aspect, disablig Camera Plus does nothing.
Â
At least three other people posted on a Microsoft page about this, seems to have arrived with 8.1 upgrade.

May 27, 2014I've got a fairly new T440s for which I've set up fingerpringt reading. I was wondering if there'd be an (easy) way to change the picture displayed on the welcome/login screen. I'm not talking about the background, but the icon in the middle that is currently a picture of a fingerprint.Â

I looked around at other threads and they either referred to editing .dll files (above my head a bit) or some picture in "C:Program FilesThinkVantage Fingerprint Software" which is not a directory on my machine. I'm running the latest version of Lenovo Fingerprint Manager Pro, and nothing in the Fingerprint Manager Pro program files looked persipacious.
