it was about gettin my laptop to use hdtv as monitor instead of laptop screen on my windows xp display part there is no option to change the output it just says notebook and theres no other option how can i get this?

a couple of months ago my brother bought a big HDTV to use as a TV and a monitor. To me it didn't look good at all, it's hard to describe but it just didn't look proper. Since then we recently got one for the living room too, and I have to say I'm very disappointed. It looks the same as my brothers, kind of fuzzy, like the FPS isn't as good, and rather pixelly :S and this is when watching TV. Our old school TV looked 10 times better. Also, when hooked up to my M1710 it looks absolutely horrible, even at 1900 res.

Tried (and sometimes successful) to connect HDTV to laptop, Inspiron 5720. Now laptop screen does not display (goes black) without an external monitor physically attached. Tried using Projects and clicking on single laptop display, but if I disconnect the external monitor, the laptop screen just goes black. Not very portable if I have to lug around a second display.

Tried another monitor as well. My laptop screen is lit up as always, and I can see some movement when I cntrl alt delete, but I can't read anything to see what's wrong.Is it my video card? Is that the thing I plug my VGA cord for the monitor into?

With this configuration if I have the 2 monitors running I can't get any picture on the laptop screen. View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an Aspire 2920 laptop with Windows Vista Home Edition O.S. It starts and works fine except that after I was using it with an external monitor (a flat screen tv) on the option to use external monitor, it only now starts thinking the monitor is the flat screen tv and does not recognizes the normal laptop screen. The laptop screen is now "pixeled" and only shows like 2/3 of its total width. I've checked in Control Panel and it has the flat screen registered as the "normal" monitor, but I can not way a find to tell the computer that the monitor is the same as usual and not the flat screen tv.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have an HP DV 6000T. I just bought a HP Elite M9510f Desktop from HP.com, and I don't have a monitor yet, so I am trying to connect my Desktop VGA to my Laptop VGA in and use my DV6000T as a monitor.
I also have a Sharp TV which I tried using as a monitor but the thing keeps flashing the Power and OPC lights and won't let me see anything.
Anyway I can make my Laptop monitor work with my desktop for the time being?

But there are a few things that I would like to use my desktop for, but I do not want to take up all the space that the entire desktop unit would use. Therefore, I was wondering if it is possible to run my desktop using my laptop as the display.
Does any one know if it is possible to have 2 22" monitors on the E-Port Plus and use the notebooks display as a 3rd monitor? or is it possible to have 3 monitors attached at all?
My CFO is looking for this setup and had it on his T61.

Irecently bought a new AOC monitor 6 months ago and it worked flawlessly up to two weeks ago when it suddenly stopped working with this laptop. monitor still works great through HDMI with my brothers mac and with a seperate Blu ray player also via HDMI. so its not the monitor or cable that is causing the problem.
the driver for the monitor is installed correctly and all the extra graphics drivers such as nvidia have been uninstalled and still the screen shows 'no signal'
I suspect the issue is with the HDMI driver which i have not been able to find a driver for (i recently reformatted my laptop and had to re-install all drivers even for USB ports and mouse ) however reformatting the laptop was done in an attempt to solve this issue.
I have an Acer laptop, 2 ys old or less, and the monitor went dead. The computer runs, but the monitor does not work. It has a nvidia card, and I have heard it might be the issue. Motherboard?

I try to choose a higher one but there are no options for higher resolutions. It's actually quite a bit lower than the resolution displayed on the laptops own screen.

I tried to get into bios pressing ESCAPE or F10 after restart but same nothingness. If I can't get my lappie working, I would at least like to get data off it.

1). Is an HDMI cord the best way to to connect to the monitor?
2). Will the monitor stretch the 1366 pixels to fit the 1920 pixels or will the image not fill the monitor?
My aspire v3 laptop doesn't recognize a 2560x1440 monitor I connect to it - it only gives me the best option as 1920x1080. I've down loaded the latest AMD Radeon hd 7660g drivers but it still won't work.

When I try to connect my laptop to an Acer monitor with an HDMI cable, it gives me a no signal error. But when the same laptop is connected to a Philips monitor using the same cable, it works perfectly. As usual I thought that the monitor was the culprit, but when I connected another laptop to the Acer monitor using the same cable it worked without any errors. So where does the problem lie. The HDMI cable is OK, the laptop is also OK as also the Acer monitor?

At the moment it happened, the lcd starts flipping out, eventually turns solid white, then shutting down.
Did a complete disasemmble and cleaned every piece with contact cleaner. The laptop functions 100% now....except one small irritation..
The screen goes black at random. Sometimes 30 seconds after boot...sometimes 5 or 6 hours...The Power indicator, baterry light and wifi lights all stay on green as if the computer is still running. I have to hold the power button down to shut it off and it reboots with the desktop recovery white screen.
When I plug in an HDMI cable to my laptop the screen freezes and a black box forms around the screen. The only thing I can see is my desktop background image. Can't do anything, system is totally frozen. When I disconnect it everything works great again. What do I need to do? I'm using a HP ENVY DV7-7250us with WIN7 (64bit) installed ...

I just bought a Dell Studio XPS 16 second hand, advertised with an RGBLED screen.
The laptop works great but I am very sceptical about this display, all the reviews harp on about how amazing it looks but I can't really see much of a difference between this screen and my WLED monitor.

I have been conecting my Studio 15 laptop to my 720p HDTV for months. Some days it works fine, most days it doesn't. When I hook up the hdmi, the screen will appear on the HDTV, several seconds go by, both screens go blank and then the picture is back on the laptop.
I have tried starting the computer with the HDMI already hooked up and the TV at the correct input. I havetried adjusting the resolution on the laptop to match the TV resolution.
