I should like to connect my old hp2710p to TV via HDMI. So I connect the displayport of the docking with an hdmi adpater but it doesn't work.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a Lenovo L440 laptop with a think pad pro dock. The HDD is encrypted with TrueCrypt and needs a password before windows will boot. The laptop will not display out to the monitor attached to the dock before windows loads. I have changed the bios setting Config > Display > Boot Display Device, as well as all the other display options, but it does not make a difference. I have tried with a VGA cable and a DVI cable and neither works. I have tried with 2 different L440s and 2 docking stations with the same problem occuring on both. I have successfully used a Lenovo L540 laptop with the same model of docking station. I have also updated to the most current bios version.

I'm wondering if I'm missing something or if the L440 model simply does not support this function?
I am planning to get 2x 23inch monitors 1920x1200. So now here is the situation. I want to connect both of these to my sony vaio z. I have found solutions such as the Matrox DualHead2Go box and what not.. But i was wondering if i can get the sony z docking station and use that for dual output. Unlike some other threads that i've read my situation would be to plug the hdmi on the laptop to monitor1 and the dvi from the docking station to monitor 2.

When booting an error pops up as below: The battery currently attached to the system will not supply enough power to dock for it to function. Please attach AC power to the dock for it to function normally

The Laptop and the dock stations are brand new. This is only happening with the 7240's.
Have used my HP 2000 laptop many times to connect to a big screen TV using the VGA output jack and hook it to the VGA input of my big screen. Â Now, for some reason, there is no video output to the big screen, I have tried 3 different cords (VGA to VGA) and get nothing on two, and on the third I get a video transfer but it blinks off and on both on the monitor of the laptop and my big screen with only about 1/2 of a picture showing on both. Â When it did this, I tried repositioning the output jack on the computer output and it changed the picture somewhat, but could never get it to work.

View 10 Replies View RelatedThe USB ports on my new E Port II docking are not working with my new Latitude E7240 Laptop. Full configuration of the laptop is below. Talked with Dell and they sent me a replacement docking station but the same issue surfaced. Looked at the Device Manager and no extra USB ports show up when connected to the docking station. The side laptop USB works fine when the docking station is connected.

when I dock my in my E-port docking station, my CPU usage will shoot up to 100%, and it may come down periodically to the 80s or 90s, which makes my laptop virtually unusable for anything. I tried a different power cord but it made no difference. Undocked, it works just fine, so it's obvious it's something wrong with the docking station.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWe are running more than200 dell computers in our company. lately we purchased E7240 for some users but it looks like the AC adapter does not work with the Dell E-Port docking station we have and that cause the USB hubs not to function at all.
Currently the workaround is to plug the AC adapter to the laptop instead of the docking station.
Our BIOS is updated to the latest version. also a message comes up when the ac adapter connected to the docking station before the windows boot up saying the ac adapter won't charge.....

View 10 Replies View RelatedI have a ThinkPad X240 laptop with Windows 8.1 Enterprise x64 installed. Sound plays just fine from the laptop's speakers, and when I plug external speakers into the laptop's 3.5mm audio port they work just fine too. when the laptop is docked in my Ultra Dock 90W docking station and the external speakers cable is plugged into the dock's audio port, no sound is heard. If I'm playing music through the laptop's speakers, as soon as I plug a cable into the dock's audio port no sound is heard. I can still use the laptop's audio port to connect external speakers, but that defeats the object of having an audio port on the Ultra Dock.
The Ultra Dock has (I believe) the latest firmware installed (version 2.22.000) and I have the latest audio drivers installed: in Device Manager > Sound, video and game controllers > Realtek High Definition Audio > Driver version is 6.0.1.7188 which is the latest available from Lenovo Support downloads. What do I need to do to get the Ultra Dock's audio port working? I mistakenly posted this message on the "X Series tablet ThinkPad Laptops" board.
I have a Latitude e6510 display port. The graphics card that came with the laptop is Nvidia NVS 3100M.
My display port does not output. External screen just says <No video signal>
The Nvidia control panel can also not see any other monitors.
I have tried this with multiple displays. I have updated to the latest drivers for everything including Nvidia.I ran the scan system for driver updates utility from Dell.
How do I get the display port to start outputting. Is there some special driver that is needed?

I have an XPS M1530 running Vista Home Premium 64-bit, T-9300 Processor, 6 gig RAM, 320 gig 7200-rpm harddrive. I am using it with the Kensington SD100S Laptop Docking Station (with stand) and a 22" Samsung monitor (monitor as primary display and laptop display as secondary display) and the Dell Bluetooth keyboard and mouse. The Kensignton docking station attaches to the M1530 via USB.
My question is, is it safe for me to detach the docking station when the M1530 is booted up and running? What about detaching the monitor? Except when I have an external USB harddrive turned on, there is not anything in my tray icons to indicate (as far as I can tell) that any hardware needs to be safely removed.
I have a 2nd AC adapter in my den separate from my home office, but I so rarely take the laptop mobile in the house since I power down first. Please let me know whether I am being too cautious, and if it is safe to detach the docking station and monitor while running any precautions that I should take. I do have my XPS backed up via Ghost if a problem should happen.

When using the HDMI connector there is no output whatsoever. I have followed the suggestions on the Acer website about detecting connected monitors but this does not detect my TV ...
When using the VGA output the deTect function detects the presence of the TV but the TV does not detect the computer.
I have connected another computer to the same TV using the same cables (HDMI and VGA) and everything works just fine.

A few months ago we had to change the hard disk as the original packed in. I put in the same model disc as I took out and reloaded tyhe software from the rescue disc. Prior to this the HDMI worked perfectly.

The monitor and hdmi cable work fine with other computers. I have disabled/enabled the HDMI device, and also updated drivers (Windows says my drivers are up to date).
I am using an Envy TouchSmart 15 and I have just run an update of Windows 8.1 based on the system auto update (it ran 5 updates).

Prior to the update, I used a 27" monitor as the main screen and this was connected via the HDMI port. Â Right after the update, the system doesn't seem to recognise the HDMI port anymore and it goes back to using the Envy laptop screen as the main screen. Â I changed the HDMI cable but it made no difference. Â I subsequently connected another laptop to the 27" monitor via HDMI and it worked fine. Â So it appears both the monitor and the HDMI cable are fine.
I have a HP Envy M6-1158ca, and recently my Built-in display stopped working. I plugged it into an external display via HDMI and it showed no input. It seems as though the laptop is not booting into Windows either, as usually whenever my laptop boots into windows, the fingerprint scanner blinks letting me know I can now sign in using it. I am extremely frustrated with this, and have an unbelievable amount of stress because this was my only PC.
