Im looking for a Sony Vaio for my girlfriend and after googling for a while I found out that FW series looks beautiful while still cheap.
But it seems they have thoudsand different FW notebooks and I can't figure out those numbers like 390, 590 or 380... mean.
I have just sold my laptop so I do the searching on my tiny iPhone which make it a nightmare to dig deep into those stuff
I recently got a CD-ROM that was for the PCGA-DSM51 and other docking stations. The reason why I got this since my original CD-ROM isn't working right anymore. But the problem I' am having is that it says that my CD-ROM is "epson dl-v100 ieee 1394 sbp2 device"
I don't think Windows XP detected the CD-ROM right since it gives a code 10 error and can't start. I basicaly need help so I can make my CD-ROM work
right.
My notebook is the Sony PCG-R505ESP.
I got Vaio FZ190 with faulty Nvidia chip, then i had my motherboard replaced. The problem is i cannot restore my C: drive using DVD i made. So, i tried hidden partition by press F10 and is also not working. Here is the code i got while i was trying to do so,
"Cannot use this recovery disc for this computer. Confirm the model number"
when I click Ok, this message appears
"error: CompareSnyIniToPacIni, Error: 92"
Then I click OK and it drops me back to the Vaio recovery centre and this cycle will happen again when I repeat to restore drive c.
Both DVD and hidden partition was working just fine before i had my motherboard replaced. I search all thread and find out that system recovery will check my BIOS before it can restroe my C: drive so i try to reset BIOS setting by pressing F9 in BIOS setting and it's still not working. Now, i can use my vaio just fine but i can't restore my C: drive.
This is what it said in my BIOS:

Alright so i have been trying to upgrade from home premium 64bit vista to W7 with my upgrade disc and i am out of idea. Every time i try to run the upgrade i get an error saying
"Windows cannot copy files required for installation. The files may be corrupt or missing. Make sure all files required for installation are available and restart the installation. Error code: 0x80070017"
i am planning to buy sony fw from Sonystyle.com with the following configuration..but i hav doubts,
1.Can i be able to play high games like assains creed ,gta 4 in this ati card system specification provided with fw
2.can this blue ray read only write dvdr,dvd+-rw
3.i hav heared about region code problem like on playing dvds,blueray..is there any way to overcme it....i mostly use dvds which i write so does regon code make any issue in this..

- My Dell laptop's motherboard is fried and needs replacing (Vostro 1400) - I can't read the Product Key for the copy of Windows installed on it, because the sticker underneath the laptop is worn out - Dell said that as long as I use the recovery disc supplied by them, it won't even ask me for the Product Key on install because it reads the data off the motherboard - If I replace the motherboard, does that mean I can't install Windows on the system without it asking for a Product Key again?
In other words: do all Vostro 1400 motherboards have the same SLIC digital signature? Will I be able to install Vista Business 32-bit without it asking for a Product Key?
A company bought laptop with model : E7240 & E7440, So those laptops come with Windows 8 product-key store on mainboard. I would like to get that number because those laptops werer installed Wiindows 7 from our Global IT but right now those laptops are transfering to new owner and Global license of Win7 is end. Is possible to get product-key from each laptop for downgraded the license to Win7 without re-install the OS ?Â

After confirming my computer has Microsoft 7 [32 bit] installed, after confirming that my computer shows this program updated as of today and that my computer shows Microsoft t as "activated" under Computer/Properties I am still asked for product key and then told I have incorrect #. I have also confirmed I have a microsoft product key and it is not a serial #, model # etc. It is clearly marked.Â

When I go into the BIOS, All the information about the system is xxxxxxx. When I go into HP support assistance. The product name, serial number, and product number is  yyyyyyyy.  I know this is wrong, why?

I was making a Windows 7 recovery disc set, usning the Lenovo Thinkvantage tools, and one of the first pop up windows that came up said "Note: DVD RAM is not supported for Disc 1 of the Product Recovery disc set". Does this meen that I cannot use a DVDs for a Recovery discs? That is all I have.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have dv6-3122us HP notebook with windows 7 Home premium preinstalled with Office Starter 2010 Because of all the system problems listed in the troubleshooters I ended up having to restore to factory defaults. It wouldn't install, I was finally able to restore from disc by removing the battery. I don't know what happened but when finally restored the hard drive used 57 GB of my hard drive and doesn't show all the drives on my laptop. It doesn't show a lot of files when pulled up but originally before the restore there was only about 8 GB used. My other problem is that it asks for my Product Key to activate windows and won't recognize the one I have that came with the PC, it says I may have to purchase another key. Also my warranty for the PC is no longer valid. Micorsoft is telling me to contact manufacturer, manufacturer says contact Microsoft.

I'm having trouble finding out what is wrong with my computer. When I power it on, nothing happens, the LEDs just cycle through as if it is going to power on, but then it just powers down. (Power led stays on).
But, when i hold the FN key, and try to click the power button, i get some flashing lights.

I figured it was just Vista been more sluggish than usual.
So I decided I'd back it up, wipe it and install my new copy of Windows 7 RTM.
After booting from the DVD, setup stopped halfway through giving me this '0x00000e9' error code.
I subsequently ran the dell diagnostics.
Which gave me this :
Hard Drive - DST
Test Results : Fail
Error code 2000-0142
Msg : hard drive 1 - Self test unsuccessful.
Status : 70
OS: Windows XP SP3
I had two 512MB 2Rx16 PC2-5300S-55-12 sticks of ram in my laptop.
I purchased 2 x 2GB 200PIN DDR2 SODIMM 256MX64 sticks to install.
When i put in the new sticks I get 2 short beeps and it doesn't finish booting the the OS.
Am I doing something wrong? I know that the OS will only recognize 3Gb but it should at least boot right?

I have a Studio 1737 with Bluetooth connection. I have used it in the past to send data between PC and phone. Now it is not working.
Device manager says devcie cannot start code 10
Reinstalling drivers tell me to turn on the device using FN+F2 or radio on/off switch.
I am getting error code 80070490 every time I try to do Windows updates. I have done the system restore as far back as I could and this did not solve the problem. I am going to be putting a new hard drive in the computer, but would like this problem to be resolved first.
