View 2 Replies View RelatedPlus the the Sound Manager is saying no Audio Output Device is installed AND all of a sudden ATI is saying I have to install new drivers but with no keyboard I cannot find the "display manager".
The only possible thing I can think of is that I added SW for a Sprint aircard right before all this happened bu that couldn't possibly be the cause of the problems could it?
I have an Acer Aspire 5733Z Laptop and just recently, my cursor jumps all over the place while I am typing.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy keyboard randomly inserts a double letter as I'm typing. But I do not see a ffix anywhere (just did it again). I've tried changing keyboard settings, downloading updates, etc, etc. This is actually the THIRD HP Envy computer in a row to have this problem.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a T430s and I love it so far, except one negative thing is that it keeps "skipping" around whenever I type. During typing, on random occasions it will skip to wherever the cursor is placed at that moment, often in the middle of a word I had already typed previously. (It has done it 4 times while typing this message) Obviously, this makes it very annoying to have to re-do a word or sentence over and over. I definitely don't type extremely fast and try to be careful with my hand placement, but as a normal sized adult male, can it be possible that the new Chiclet Keyboard makes it easier for my fingers or palm to inadvertantly move or press the touchpad which causes this problem? Or is this a software defect?
This is my second Thinkpad and I've never had this problem before.
Specs: Lenovo T430s, Windows 7 Home
I have only had this latop 3 months and it is missing keys when I type. It isnt that the laptop is slow and needs to catch up, it just misses letters and I have to keep going back over the text and filling in. It gets very frustrating putting passwords in and letters and numbers miss.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a DELL XPSL511z. Why every time I try to type of this computer the mouse jumps everywhere? I have disabled the track pad and it doesn't work. Is there some way to decrease the key sensitivity? This is a HUGE problem with this model.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI currently have an AA1 and am curious to those who tried typing on both the HP Mini and the AA1 keyboards and noticed a difference. I believe the HP's keyboard is 92% and the AA1's is 89% I believe. It feels "okay" to type on, obviously not the best due to its size compared to a normal keyboard, but am wondering if the HP's is worth the price jump (paid 300 for mine).
View 7 Replies View RelatedWhen Windows is finished loading my touch and key pad seems to turn off. My device manager does not indicate any problems with either. In safe mode everything works fine. Since I did not have anything valuable stored I used the acer recovery and had it reinstall Windows fresh. After that, it seems to work fine with no problems.
Auto updates starting downloading and after updates are installed I have the same problem again. I have done this procedure a few times. I have also install AVG Anit virus and thought maybe thats what was doing, so this last time I did not re install the anti virus.
My laptop touch screen doesn't work consistently. my laptop suppose to have "full windows touch support with 10 touch points", but then when i checked out my pc info, it says "limited only".
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just got my Aspire V touch, so I don't understand why the Acer applications keep crashing when I try to open them. All of my other apps open fine without crashing. (Acer apps i.e.: Acer Recovery, Acer Quick Access, etc.) Why only Acer apps are crashing? I'm trying to make my recovery files.
Also, what is AOP Framework? It always crashes when my laptop is waken up from it's sleep. Can I uninstall it?
All of a sudden my touch screen of Aspire R7 has stopped working. I have done system restore but still not luck. There is no Tablet PC Settings in my control Panel. What should I do? It has happened on its own and I am confused what to do?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have tried all the other tips and driver downloads, removing battery, reloading drivers, sleep "wake up", all with temporary success. Acer says to refresh the computer, that does not work either. It is new with about 20 hours on it. I took the first machine back to retailer and same situation with the new machine.
Clearly this is an issue with Acer notebook touchpads and at least in my case W8.1. That is why google is littered with search titles for acer touch pads not working.
I have had my aspire e1 touch for a couple months now and a couple weeks in it randomly wouldn't detect the touch ability. I have to shut the laptop down and back on again for it to work (simple restart won't work) It's a new computer so I haven't upgraded any os, it's running with the Windows 8.1 it came with and I have chrome as the browser. It seems to happen when I wake it from sleep, not in the middle of using it. When the touch is not working, the device manager doesn't even detect that touch is an option (it's hidden, but grey and cannot be enabled)....

Given I'm supposed to be running OEM Windows 8.1 shouldn't 1 of the first 2 partitions say OEM?
If that is so I know what I've done and it will probably require a recovery disk to set things straight (i.e. recover the original Acer version of Windows 8.1). This is a follow-on from a previous post where I foolishly installed an evaluation copy of Windows 10 instead of running it using virtual software (which is what I usually do with these things) - I can't remember for sure but it's likely I installed it by formatting the whole disk and probably wiping the OEM partition.
I do have a system image taken a few days before I installed W10 but suspect the OEM wasn't included...which is what is displayed above after I reloaded it.
Touch screen not working after reinstalled a win8.1. I deleted the Recovery Partition. So how to fix the touch screen?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just got a Acer Aspire V3 771-6605 with Windows 8.1. My touch pad wouldn't scroll or respond to any finger gestures, so I tried installing the ELANTECH and Synaptics touch pad drivers from the acer support site for my laptop. However, after I restarted the computer I keep getting stuck at the screen right before where you put in your password (the lock screen?). The only keys that seem to do anything are the function keys.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just bought my Acer Aspire V5-552g a week ago. Everything seems to be working fine. However, Windows advised me to install updates which I did. After installing the updates the touch gestures are not working anymore. I tried updating my drivers, which I downloaded from the Acer support site, but it did not work. All gestures are not working. What I need to do. Is this a result of updating Windows? How can I undo the update?
View 3 Replies View Relatedi'm having problems with my new acer v5 touchpad... i made a clean install of windows 8.1 and installed all the win 8.1 drivers from the acer support site. from the device id of my touchpad (ACPISYN1B71) i assumed that it is a synaptics model.
the problem now: after installing several versions of the driver, even trying the alps and elantech versions, i could never manage to get multi-gesture settings in the settings windows from synaptics - there are only settings visible for right- and left-click. where are the multi-touch gesture options for windows 8?
basic funtions work, like left click, two-finger right click and two-finger scrolling, but nothing is configurable and all the other gestures are not available.
I recently purchased an Acer Aspire R7-572-6423 touchscreen notebook. It works great for the most part except for the touchscreen seems to glitch out every once in a while. What happens is out of nowhere the touch screen will start registering a click in the very upper left corner of the screen (as seen by the Windows 8 touch visual feedback) even though I am not touching the screen. The clicking happens very fast (several times a second) and makes the notebook unusuable.
I can make the clicking stop by touching and holding my finger on the screen near where the clicking is happening. However, as soon as I lift my finger, the clicking resumes.
To fix the issue, I have to do a touch screen calibration (Windows settings -> Tablet PC Settings -> Calibrate -> Touch input). However, the calibration appears to be off using this method (I cannot swipe the windows 8 bar to the right) so I then do a calibration reset (Tablet PC Settings -> Reset). This generally resolves the issue for a while.
I have tried moving the screen into different positions and cleaning the screen but the issue still comes back on occasion.
I've just received my XPS11 and think it's a beautiful machine... however, the one grief (everyones main grief with this unit it seems) is the keyboards sensitivity setting.
By default, when the computer starts, when you open up the Dell Keyboard (F10), the keyboard sensitivity is set to midway.... i constantly need to keep sliding it to lightest setting (makes it almost usable at this point). Where in registry this setting is kept ? or how i can permanently set it to LIGHTEST.
For some reason, I cannot get the backlit keyboard to work on my new X1 Carbon Touch. It lights up upon powering up and then will not turn on no matter how many times I hit the space bar. I don't see an option to enable/disable anywhere either. Am I missing a driver?
