Acer :: Aspire 5100 Touchpad Keyboard Not Working
Jun 23, 2008My touchpad and keyboard quit working all of a sudden. I tried to reboot and I can't select the safe mode choice cause the arrow keys on the keyboard don't work. Some people suggested that I remove the battery and reboot, and again nothing.

Acer :: 5100- Dvd Rom Stopped Working
Dec 10, 2009Firstly the dvd rom stopped working about 6 months ago.Can live without it but now after getting a blue screen it wont boot or the screen is black.Connected it to a monitor and when it does choose to boot there is no display on the laptop screen until the login screen appears.Ran some tests on the HDD drive when its running but comes up ok.Is it likely to be a failing MB or some corruption on my OP system.

Feb 14, 2015I just bought an ACER E5-771G-54N6 and after 2 days my touchpad just stop working (Win 8.1 , 64-bit). This is obviously a software (driver) issue, and after researching and finding out that a Windows reisntall is the only solution, I find that hard to believe that this can't be fixed through a patch. These type of problems shouldn't be occurring on brand new laptops.

Acer :: 5100 Keyboard/Mouse Not Responding Except To "wake"
Feb 25, 2009My computer will load to the main ID sign in screens, but the mouse and keyboard seem completely unresponsive. The only response I do get, is when the the screen goes into power save, touching the keyboard will cause it to wake up. But that is the ONLY response I can get. How wierd is that? Mouse, on board and external, are unresponsive. I can not so far get to safe mode or anything else, neither F2 or ALT+ F10 do anything on boot.
Previously, I was useing the laptop, including firefox, audacity (minor audio program) notepad and media player. I plugged in my USB mp3 player, and the second I made contact, blue and white vertical lines filled the screen. I forced off, subsequent boots gave only a completely black screen. With instructions from Acer's, I removed all power sources for 20 minutes and rebooted, and now can get to as mentioned the sign in screen, but that is all. Alt and F10, and F2 during boot seem unresponsive. I am assuming that the drivers for the keyboard and mouse are corrupted. I even tried an external USB mouse, no luck. I don't have a UBS keyboard to try
The CD Rom is still responsive, It will eject, and you can hear it reading a disc. Please let me know what I need to try next. IF the keyboard would respond, I could do erecovery, but .. well. No key board. I looked on Acers' site for Kb/Mouse drivers, but didn't see anything, and I"m not even sure how I'd install then from a disc anyway.
Acer :: Timeline Keyboard NOT Working In BIOS, Working In The OS
Dec 25, 2009I have a timeline 4810T which has worked lovely since September, but now I have a weird problem with it: The keyboard won't work until the operating system is loaded. I can't access the bios (press the F2 key but nothing happens), neither select my OS on the Grub menu as the arrow keys doesn't work, all I can do is wait for the 10 seconds timer, then Ubuntu launches, then I can login without problems and all the keys work perfectly.
To give more details, maybe some keys do actually work before the os boot, because when I'm on the grub menu, some keys manage to stop the timer, but unfortunately I can't change the OS or accept the selection, then I have to reboot and wait for the timer to go back to 0 for itself and ubuntu loads.
I'm running the newest BIOS, updated some days ago but didn't had the problem since today.

Dec 17, 2014We have a problem of keyboard with many Dell Latitude e3540 . Some keys randomly stop responding . We have updated the firmware to version A08 but unable to fix it. Also reinstall the driver keyboard controller with the same result .
The only thing that can solve the problem was momentarily disconnecting and reconnecting the keyboard . Likewise, the problem usually returns . The local support Dell keyboards we changed several times but the problem persisted.
Dell :: SX 1647-USB Ports Stop Working
Apr 22, 2010I just bought a studio xps 1647 from best buy and today the usb ports stopped working. They could not see multiple jump drives I inserted.
Is this a win 7 flaw or is something wrong with my laptop? It was in sleep earlier. My theory is that the laptop just didn't wake the ports coming out of sleep mode. I'm contemplating returning the laptop for another.

However, when I take my laptop off the docking station and then return it to the docking station, the laptop no longer recognizes the keyboard and also says that the printer is not connected. Once I restart they both work. I have also tried to unplug the wireless receiver for my keyboard from the docking station and plug into the laptop, but it still does not work without reboot.

Touch screen is VERY spotty. Will just stop working. All the time. Even in the middle of gestures.
I found that by going to the upper right corner touch will start working again, and then it'll stop moments later in the middle of an activity.
This is Windows 8, of course. I have used plenty of other Windows 8 devices so I'm not a novice. I have never seen this behavior. Is this a driver problem? A setting I don't know about (some special Lenovo thing?). I am hoping its not hardware. The fact that touching the upper right corner enables things for awhile seems to indicate its not hardware but not certain.

Feb 27, 2010I recently went on a plane trip back home and I am having major issues with wifi connection in my family's house.
They have AT&T router/modem (combo?) and no one else in the house has any issues connecting with it.
What happens is I can connect and browse for a couple minutes or so, but sporadically, the internet will just stop working (not the wifi, it still shows my connection exists). I just won't be able to browse or make use of the internet at all!
I wonder if I might have banged it up or something on the plane ride? Since other laptops in the household are not having wifi issues, I am lead to believe it is just me.

My keyboard is partially not working, launch manager didn't work correct b4 but now some letter keys & even shift keys r not working.

Oct 22, 2009manual for a 2356 Travelmate or how to remove the case to check if the keyboard connection has come loose? I have performed a factory type reset using the setup and recovery disks but the keyboard still does not work. I have plugged in a usb keyboard which works fine but using it defeats the purpose of having a laptop. The reset was needed as i believe something nasty had got on board. The reset has cleared this all up but the keyboard still does not work.

Jan 19, 2013I have a 3444-CUU that I really love. When I first got it I realised the wireless adapter would just randomly stop working. I updated every possible driver and I'm still having the same issues. All I can do is reset the adapter to get it kicking again. I'm not sure if the wifi care is soldered or if it could be removed or replaced but I'm really leaning towards it being a hardware issue.
It'll either stop working could turkey, won't detect any wireless networks or it'll stop working and I can still view other wireless networks but I cannot connect to them. Resetting the adapter is the only option. As I'm writing this right now the wireless has gone out again. So I have to reset the adapter for 5-10 more minutes of internet just so that I can post this.
