Jul 23, 2009On my fedex tracking page it says my laptop got delivered but i never signed for it and the driver is saying someone at my house did. I called fedex and said they will have their security looking at it.

Jun 3, 2009I got a box from Fed Ex and I sent it for repair to Texas, I've been checking on the status of the package every now and then, now it says "Package returned to shipper", do you guys know what that means?
It says it was delivered today at 9AM and then returned to shipper at 10AM, I hope and really really hope that is not a shippers or address problem.

FedEx say they don't have it because when they went to pick it up, the system was not there...
Dell, as always, dont have any idea where it is...and since the call center in far away from here, they cant call the warehouse to ask if the system left the building or not!

Aug 3, 2009I ordered a customized studio 15 directly from dell on july 18th with a design studio lid.
It shows it is scheduled to be delivered on august 11th but it still shows it as in production on dells website when i log in.
I was just wondering if that sounds right or if i should give dell a call?

Jan 3, 2010Has anyone had any luck getting dell to upgrade anything because of shipping delay? Or offer discounts?
Specifically, I am thinking about trying to convince them to upgrade my warranty. I ordered a studio 17. the basic warranty is 1 year limited warranty with 1 year return to depot service. This is included in the base price. When I placed my order i upgraded (for $198 CND) to the 2 year limited warranty, with 2 year return to depot service, lojack+ accidental damage service.
I have been given the usual order delayed bullcrap like most of you. But is it possible to use this to get them to upgrade it to the 2 year NBD onsite service, lojack, and accidental? ($80 value over my original 2 year return to depot)
I am going to give it a shot this week when I can manage to find the time to sit on hold for a few hours. I will let you know what comes of it.
Anyone try anything similar? share your results

Aug 7, 2007So for the upcoming school year I purchased an 17' Inspiron notebook (upgraded some components such as graphics card, procceser etc) online on the first of august. I was very surprised when I recieved an email that said the est. ship date was the 17th of august, est. arrival date the 21st! I probably would have just bought a labtop retail at a store somewhere if I had known it would take three weeks for it to arrive!
My question (to those who have purchased dell notebooks in the past or recentely) is whether or not it really takes that long for the notebook to arrive at your doorstep or in fact its not as long. I figure because its summer, maybe they're backed up a bit?

Jan 18, 2009Is it normal that dell.ca would have fewer choices of screens than dell.com? I'm looking at the studio 15, and dell.com lists Hi Resolution/Bright,
glossy widescreen 15.4 WLED display (1440x900) as a choice, which is what I want, but dell.ca doesn't. When I view the system specs though, that choice is listed as on option.

Dell Vostro 3460 :: Not Boot Only Loads The Dell Logo And Then Shows A Black Page
Feb 9, 2013my laptop vostro 3460 won't boot any more. When I turn it on it loads the Dell logo (I suppose it passes the POST) but then it just shows a black page. It could be anything, but I guess that it may have something to do with Windows 8 and the UEFI system. I also would be quite happy to install linux mint and get rid of Windows, but I don't know how to change the boot priority order.
So my questions are:
1 is it a hardware issue ? if not, can I solve my problem easily ?
2 how can I change the boot priority order, to install mint ?

Oct 21, 2008when i first got my dell inspiron and it was all good. when i set the monitor to shut off after 1 minute of being idle, it did and would not turn on unless someone moved the mouse of pressed a button. however, after i reformatted, the computer monitor would shut off after 1 min but soon afterwards it turns on again by itself, then it goes off again, then it remains on permanently. i recently formatted my laptop again and this problem persists. anyone knows whats sup? im using xp ftw... and my configurations are the same as it was before the reformats so idk whats wrong.
