Dell Inspiron 15 :: Windows 7 Stuck In A Reboot Cycle?

I have a Dell Inspiron 15 running Windows 7. I try to turn on my computer, it goes through the Dell logo screen and then instantly reboots. I have pushed F2, F12, F8 and Ctrl+F11 keys during the Dell logo screen, but none of these do anything; all that happens is a black screen with a blinking white cursor in the upper left corner comes up for a couple seconds and then my computer restarts. I have the OS disc for reinstallation, but because of the computer not going past the black screen with the white blinking cursor in the upper left corner, I cannot reinstall Windows because it will not restart correctly.

My Acer 5742-7653 is stuck in reboot loop. It starts to load Windows 7, and then the screen goes black, and it beeps a bit, and theen starts over again. The F2 button no longer gets me into Setup. And the F12 doesn't work. I can't get into SafeMode or Setup. When the problem first began, I could sometimes get into Setup and boot from an external HD which as a diskImage.
I used to be able to remove battery, and remove HDD and RAM, and then it would boot up from the external HD. To get through a busy period at work we set the power option so the computer would never shut off. But this is creating problems with all the Firefox, Adobe and Windows updates that want to run.
This is running on Windows 7, 64bit.
How can I determine if this is a problem with the HDD, or the RAM? or Motherboard? What else could it be?

I have tried taking the battery out, and letting pc start w/o it, hitting the f8 key and trying each solution, System restore won't work, and each fix I read about won't work either. I hate re installing the oS, as I lose everything on my pc.

computer turns on but wont go to windows, stuck on a Dell screen, press ctrl alt delete 2 option F2 or F12, almost as if windows is no longer installed, wifes computer, not sure if she picked up a virus, computer was working fine till the other day now nothing.

My brand new Inspiron 14z remains on the starting DELL screen after boot up.
The initial windows 8 parameters have been registered properly (it seems...) and since the second requested reboot the PC does not go to windows 8. I have been suspecting a hardware problem and ran the full diagnostic (success!). There is nothing into the setup (F2) parameters which looks wrong and none of the boot options (F12) I tried have been successful... Is there a way to run a windows 8 safe mode boot or equivalent (note that I cannot go inside windows 8 top change this kind of option of course), and to move forward?
I desperate to see the someting else than this Dell Logo in the middle of the screen (forever?).

I have a Dell Inspiron 1545 that doesn't boot successfully. It gets to the screen indicating "Starting WIndows" and then just sits there. I tried safe booting but when it should be displaying windows files that are loading, the screen just stays blank. I tried selecting "Repair" boot but the system just blinks and returns to the window that asks me to select Repair or Normal Boot. (If I select Normal Boot, it gets to "Starting Windows" and that's it.
I checked out the hard drive externally and it appears the hardware is functioning normally. I successfully booted with Hiren's Boot CD. I would like to attempt a RECOVERY but can't get beyond the Repair screen.
Since Dell doesn't provide an OS disk with the computer that would allow me to reinstall Windows 7...

I got problem with dell laptop, its 2 year old laptop which got stuck on Starting Windows screen ,not able to proceed further.
After checking several posts I tried all the options but it dint work. I tried running diagnostic , I got error message

hard drive 0 self test log contains previous error.
I run the custom Test and I got this same message .in the custom window where is shows Result I checked the Help tab where I got this message

Disk Drive stores large quantities of computer software and data. The contents of disk drive is preserved when computer is powered off.
Is there any problem with hard disk ?? Is it corrupted ?? Do I need to Replace it ??

I have a Dell Inspiron 15 320gb hard drive that I purchased in August 2013. It has been a great computer until last night.
I shut it down and later rebooted it.
It seemed normal until the wallpaper ( a photo of mine ) appeared as normal. The date and time was showing along with signal strength and battery strength.
None of my short cuts appeared and none of the keys on the key board work - at all.
I tried rebooting and hitting F8 to go to safe mode - nothing.
I tried a memory stick and a SD card but computer will not recognize anything. I would go back to all factory defaults and lose my files if I could get access.

I have a dell Inspiron 15r 3537 i7 model with windows 8. I bought it 4 months ago. I was playing a game on it and it suddenly hanged. I waited for 5-10 minutes and tried to close the game but it wasn't closing and it was hung. I waited for atleast 15 minutes and I had no choice so I switched it off from the power button thinking that it will turn on normally. I have a Dell Inspiron 14x 5423 that will reboot/restart but will not shut down, sleep, or hibernate. The screen shows shutting down, the screen and the hard drive turns off, but the power light and fan stay on until the battery dies in the laptop. I hold the power button and everything shuts off. When booting, I do not get the windows improperly shut down error the I normally get when I just hold the power button to shut off the computer so I suspect the operating system is shut down! I have tried updating bios to A13, video drivers, Chipset drivers, and Windows 8.1, The laptop passes all diagnostics.I even tried admin command prompt and "shutdown /s /f /h 0" command with no different results. Changed all settings in Control Panel to enable sleep and/or hibernate. I downloaded KB hot-fix which says it is for Windows 7 as another test.

I have an Inspiron N5110, service tag 84J4GR1. Last month, just after the warranty expired, the hard drive failed a test and I ordered a replacement Seagate drive. I followed the instructions to replace the old one but when the computer is powered up, a message comes up "Reboot and Select proper Boot device or insert Boot Media in selected boot device and press a key" I have entered the Bios screen and changed the boot up order so that the hard drive is first. I have also run the Diagnostics facility which say that all device working including replacement hard drive. How to get the machine to boot up?

I have just attempted to do a factory reset of my wifes Laptop which appeared to have gone OK until the system attempted to reboot.
I am now stuck with the 2 liner

I have read through the bits I can find in the forum and Google and have set the Sata to "enabled" in Power Management, as suggested, but still no luck.
I have also tried a windows repair as I have the discs supplied, both the Operating System (Win XP) and the driver disc but still can't move on.
I'm not sure if there is a problem with the community website but in the search box I keep getting a message when searching to say .. error retrieving file ....
The laptop was supplied with Norton Ghost but I think all of that must have been wiped when I initially did the Factory reset.

I booted up my acer aspire 7520 and checked my email then left the room.When i returned the laptop was switched off so i tried to reboot it.Unfortunately it will not boot up anymore,it begins to boot but then switches off and then tries to reboot again.I can no longer access the bios as the boot cycling prevents it.I thought it may have been a hard drive problem so i replaced it with a new one but this has the same effect.The RAM cards have been removed and tried in different slots and this hasn't helped.The only way to stop the laptop from cycling through is to remove the battery.This fault occurs both when trying on battery power and on mains supply.The battery is getting charged ok.Has anyone on this forum ran into this problem before? I have searched on the net for clues on how to fix this but have ran up against a brick wall.There are lots of people who have had this problem but i haven't found a fix yet.The laptop is running Vista home premium.

I've had this issue since new (6+ months) which has been driving me crazy. It's very intermittent, I generally shutdown every day, and it might work for 2-3 weeks fine. Other times I'll boot up, have no sound in browsers and have to reboot multiple times before it works. After booted, it either completely works or it doesn't.
So when the problem happens system sounds and other applications play fine, but no sound in Explorer, Chrome, etc. Checked all the usual things, updated drivers, reinstalled Flash, checked volume settings, etc.
Searching around many other people faced a similar issue which was fixed by a registery change, I checked this also but my registry was correct. For example: [URL] ....

So speedtstep is enabled in bios and it says its running at the minimum which is 800 mhz and it shows a maximum of 1.8 ghz. I am running A05 bios.
I have tried all the different power settings in windows and they do not change it. I try running a few games and programs and it still sits at 800 mhz. I think something is messed up and don't know how to fix it.
Anyone know what I can do to see if the speedstep is working correctly so Im actually using my cpu to its max when needed.

Dell XPS 12 Laptop.
Symptoms: Unable to load windows 8, unable to load windows repair, Unable to load windows 8 installer DVD, unable to boot into Linux, Unable to load Linux live CDs or USB sticks, unable to even use an MSdos boot USB.
Problem just appeared one day, one month out of my 1 year warranty so I began troubleshooting myself. After replacing the SSD, Motherboard, and unplugging every single cable, even disassembling the display and disconnecting the Windows button, Webcam, and touchscreen cables. Still I Could not get any OS to boot. On a whim I powered on the laptop them promptly disconnected the daughter board and sure enough my OS booted right away. Upon further inspection I learned that the Auto-rotate or rotate lock button had become stuck/damaged due to a fall or hard bump. I ripped off the button and ordered a new daughter board online and all is well now.

I've got a Dell Inspiron 1501 Laptop. When I switch it on it produces the most deafening series of beeps. The Dell Diagnostics CD says:
Error Code 2C00:041D Stuck Key Detected
Keyboard is Continuously transmitting a scan code 31h
It would appear that the left cursor key is stuck, as the only way I can get into windows (using an external keyboard) is to type my password backwards! instead of 'password' I type 'drowssap' The cursor is constantly moving left so by typing the password backwards it comes out the right way round. I took the cover off and disconnected & removed the keyboard and trackpad. But the problem persists: it seems this key is constantly transmitting, even without the keyboard!!
I've cleared the CMOS, left it unplugged without power, battery, CMOS Battery for 3 days. I've flashed the BIOS, changed the Memory. Still the same problem. Keyboard has been disconnected all this time, but getting this constant Key signal.Where is it coming from if the keyboard is disconnected?

Been working on my laptop all weekend and took an hour break came back and when the laptop tried to boot up got stuck on the dell screen. The screen it is stuck on has the dell emblem in the middle and has inspiron under that and a progress bar that is completely empty. In the bottom left corner is has F2 Setup and below that has F12 Boot Options.
I have tried to turn it on and press F2 all that happens is the F2 becomes highlighted but nothing seems to happen. I can do the same for the F12. I have tried booting it while plugged into wall and when it's not doesn't seem to change anything. I have left it on for a while now and every few minutes the screen goes blank and makes a few clicking noises and a few of the lights on the top corner of bottom part of laptop flash. It then just gets stuck in the same frozen screen.
The laptop has a weeks worth of very important data I need on it....

My Inspiron N5030 Laptop won't boot it gets stuck after the Dell logo. Then a "_" sign appears at the top left corner of the screen and then it just hangs.
I have already tried the Dell CD and run diagnostics with no problems found. Could it be a software issue or hardware as in malfunctioned hdd?
