When I power up my laptop it won't go past the dell logo. I tried the removal of the battery test. I also tried running the diagnostics test and everything was good. There were no error messages. What can I try next?

However now when I go to start it up it gets stuck at the Dell Logo screen, sometimes the bar fills up and it goes to a black screen. And the bios don´t load, only show a loading bar but never loads, i try removing the battery and turn it on only connected to the electricity did not work. always hear the sound of the fan but does not load the OS...

View 16 Replies View RelatedDell Inspiron 7720 (17R SE) approx 2 years old, just started having problems about a week ago when turning on the computer. LEDs flash and dell quickset buttons light up; but then process just dies, screen is black and only the LEDs by the power symbol and on power buttons are lit, never reaches the Dell logo screen, no fan sounds or anything.
At first, hitting the power button to turn off then back on and the second time the boot process would work. Then it failed to do that, so I had to remove the battery, pull the power cord and hold the power button down for 30 sec's, and then it would boot normal. Now even that does not work, just have to keep powering down and re-powering and after a random number of times, 10-30 it finally boots normal, every once in while it will work first try. It seems to be getting worse.
I have used the Dell Diagnostic on boot (though it took many tries to get into the ePSA, that did not detect any problems. When I use the Dell Support Advanced, no problems detected, and I specifically rand the Motherboard (which included CMOS test) and those did not find any problems.
If I put the computer in sleep, it comes back fine. It is only when I shut down, laptop just will not boot until I hit power on (fail) / power off repeatedly until finally, as if by luck it works fine.
I am currently using windows 8 as my OS. When I attempt to start my laptop the Dell logo flashes on the screen and the screen turns blank/black and sits there for a few min before displaying an empty bar and F12 Boot Options in the bottom right hand corner.
I have attempted to press F12 to try and load windows in safe mode but everything is frozen at this point.
Is there a way to determine if its a hardware issue or windows issue. When I searched for the issue I found some with a similar issue but the link provided for support was no longer valid
I recently bought a HP Pavilion computer (HP Pavilion 10: 10-e010nr). This was my first experience with Windows 9.1, but everything seemed to be going OK. Then, yesterday when I had to enter my password again, the computer began running very slowly and then seemed to lock-up; it wouldn't do anything. I held the "on button" until the computer shut down and then restarted it. When it restarted, it didn't get past the initial screen that shows "HP" within a blue circle and the small circle of small, white dots shows that it's working but nothing ever happens. I tried this numerous times, but the same thing happens.

Have tried:
Reseating hard drive
Reseating Dimms, swapping and plugging in one at a time
Removed battery and held power switch down to discharge
This is a type 2714-CTO R500 ....
My HP TouchSmart tm2 with the product number of VL618AV won't turn on past the logo screen. I really don't understand why this is happening because it is just over a year old. I have Windows 7 and there are no error messages on the computer.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a Dell Latitude E6500 that I have been using for quite a long time. Recently it started acting up, and now it won't start up past the Dell logo. It simply goes to a black screen with a flashing dash. I've restarted it a few times, tried pushing F8, and gone into F12. I tried the Diagnostics through F12, but it takes an extremely long time and has never finished so far. I tried it again this morning, and periodically throughout the test a message like this has shown up:
Error Code 0123. Msg: Error Code 2000-0123 Msg: Memory - integrity test failed. The given error code and message can be used by Dell Technical Support to diagnose problem. Do you want to continue testing?

I'm not sure what exactly this means, but it keeps popping up. I would like to get through to start up my computer all the way, but that doesn't seem to be an option. Is there anyway for me to wipe it without F8? My cd slot won't open, and I don't have disks anyways. Is it possible to fix it via USB drives? Or F12?
I bought this laptop in December and have had no problems with it. However, today I shut down and updated and then a few hours later i tried to turn it on but it does not work. When i turn it on, the screen shows the dell logo and then turns black. After a minute or so this occurs again and then an empty bar appears at the bottom with text next to it that says "F12 Boot options."

In the evening I could use it with no problem, other than it unexpectedly disconnected from the wifi once, but otherwise it was OK.
This morning it didn't start at all, when I press power button the Dell logo appears, and it stays like that forever, nothing happens. The power and the Wifi LEDs are on, when the charger is connected, the LED is on too.
Tried to remove battery, but still no joy.
I have a HP G26 notebook pc, it has windows 7 on it and when I turn it on it only get to the windows start up screen with the little flashing logo and won't boot any further.. I have tried system repair, my back up disks.....

I've had this laptop for 2-3 years and It had a motherboard issue within the first month of getting it, I got a new motherboard and all was dandy, but now there is apparently a system timer failure. The only thing plugged in to it is my charger and the last time I used it I didn't even have internet I just watched a few shows that I had on it and then I closed it when it was running out of power. When I hit the power button it seems like its going to start, and the buttons on it light up and then it starts to beep four times then a break then repeated four times. Nothing appears on the screen.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a new E1-572G laptop. Long story short, I installed Win 7 on it, and after that, Ubuntu 14.10. I had issues with bootloader, but after fiddling around with legacy/UEFI booting, secure boot, and things like that, I almost successfully configured the laptop. When I selected the ubuntu uefi bootmgr in the bios, in secure boot mode, I rebooted the laptop for what I thought the last time, but then it did not go past the Acer logo. Only combination that works is ctrl+alt+delete. If I remove the hdd, then the acer logo flashes for half a second, and a black screen appears, with a static console cursor at the left upper corner.
I searched a lot in the topic, wanted to reset the bios, but there is no jumper for this, nor can I remove the bios battery. I wanted to reflash the bios, but I could not find proper instructions on this.
My Inspiron E1505 will not complete it's boot. It comes up with this error:

[XLDR] ATA error
F11 shows no recovery, diagnostic test shows no error. Tried F12, checked F2. I am not that tech savvy but can get around to any instructions giving to rectify my issue. I don't have a boot disk, never can with the laptop.
Despite the ever-present warnings about ensuring one records passwords, I have recently changed my password and now cannot locate/remember the new one. The computer is an Inspiron 1440 running Windows Vista Home Premium. Is there any way I can reset the password?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased an Inspiron 7720 in October 2012. A week ago, the laptop started freezing up while playing world of warcraft. I checked my Nvidia video card and there were some updates. I installed them and the computer started working normal again. On Saturday, while I was using Skype to transfer a file, the computer gave me a white screen and I had to hold down the power button to get it to shutdown. It rebooted and was working normal again. Then yesterday (Sunday), while using video chat on Skype the computer screen went into a flashing color pattern and I had to hold down the power button to get it to shutdown. Are there any diagnostic tests that I can run before calling Dell's tech department? I believe it is a video card issue but not completely sure.

I just bought my Inspiron 14z Ultrabook three days ago. The first time works fine, but now it's frozen on the Dell logo screen.
I have been able to run a diagnostic test if I hit the f12, and it's all ok.
When I hit f8 and the bar is fully loaded nothing happens.

View 7 Replies View RelatedOk, so I have this laptop (17R 5720) that I got in November. Um every time I turn it on, I get a blank screen just after the dell logo pops up.
I've tried taking out the battery and unplugging the adapter and holding the power button for 30 seconds and putting the battery back in. I've tried "D" + power, tried Fn + Power, tried F2 to get to the BIOS window, and I've tried F12 (which only got me to the Boot menu). Still nothing happens.
Don't know what else I can do. It looks like I only got limited access to technical support so I hope it's nothing major that I have to deal with.
Been working on my laptop all weekend and took an hour break came back and when the laptop tried to boot up got stuck on the dell screen. The screen it is stuck on has the dell emblem in the middle and has inspiron under that and a progress bar that is completely empty. In the bottom left corner is has F2 Setup and below that has F12 Boot Options.
I have tried to turn it on and press F2 all that happens is the F2 becomes highlighted but nothing seems to happen. I can do the same for the F12. I have tried booting it while plugged into wall and when it's not doesn't seem to change anything. I have left it on for a while now and every few minutes the screen goes blank and makes a few clicking noises and a few of the lights on the top corner of bottom part of laptop flash. It then just gets stuck in the same frozen screen.
The laptop has a weeks worth of very important data I need on it....
When I turn the laptop on it gets to the Dell logo screen then screen goes black with a cursor in top left corner but then it restarts again.Regardless if the F2 or F12 keys are selected or not, the systems restarts again. This cycle continues indefinately until I turn it off.
I have replaced the memory stick (brand new), the hard drive (brand new), the motherboard (used from ebay), and the processor (used from ebay) and still the same thing. I have tried it without the cd drive installed and same thing. I have tried it without the battery installed but with the power supply and same thing. I have tried turning it on with the windows disk in the cd rom drive and same thing.
My Inspiron 17R 5720 laptop (which came with windows 8) was working fine yesterday but whenever I try to turn it on today it shows the Dell logo briefly then goes to a black screen and remains like that. The F12 key works, but I can't change any settings as it will only let me highlight the diagnostics option. I've run diagnostics and recieved no error reports. Neither the F2 or F8 keys work, so I can't access BIOS or start in safe mode. I've tried removing the battery and unplugging the power.

Whenever I try to turn on my laptop, it shows me dell logo and then it goes black... booting process is still on..and if you see screen in bright light you can see the process..
Now initially i thought that i need to replace my screen but it is showing dell logo so i am pretty sure that screen works fine, now my laptop does have the problem of overheating. is that is a problem????
and my laptop screen attachment to main body is not perfect too.
When i press the power button laptop seems to be powering up and running but the screen is black. The LEDs for power and disk are on and i can enable the keyboard back light. If i try to turn the laptop on again and again then after some time it boots up ok and then works without any problems, at least until i turn it off. I tried to connect an external monitor but it didn't get any signal.
I'm not sure if it is connected but i think it starded after i did the system recovery. I use Windows 7 Home Premium SP1.
My brand new Inspiron 14z remains on the starting DELL screen after boot up.
The initial windows 8 parameters have been registered properly (it seems...) and since the second requested reboot the PC does not go to windows 8. I have been suspecting a hardware problem and ran the full diagnostic (success!). There is nothing into the setup (F2) parameters which looks wrong and none of the boot options (F12) I tried have been successful... Is there a way to run a windows 8 safe mode boot or equivalent (note that I cannot go inside windows 8 top change this kind of option of course), and to move forward?
I desperate to see the someting else than this Dell Logo in the middle of the screen (forever?).
I have a new Dell Inspiron 17R with Windows 8 (bought dec 12). From the last two days, the laptop freezes after boot. The screen (touch wood) is fine, since it gives me option to trouble shoot and all. I have a feeling its a windows 8 problem. I have done all the things (such as pressing fn and power logo) as mentioned in other posts. Still its not working. As of now the laptop is in pre-boot system assessment - all are done but Hard Drive 0 is stuck at 10% from the last 15 mins!
Why is the screen black / blank after booting dell logo? I do get 'Welcome' message below the Dell logo but after that the screen is blank.
