View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an HP 2000 laptop and all of a sudden the wireless function will not work. no matter what I do the button stays orange. I do not have Wireless Assistant installed on this computer. I tried to download it from another computer and install to mine, but it stated that the version was not accepted. I have only had this computer 6 months.

View 3 Replies View RelatedLaptop was working fine up until yesterday. Then this happened...
1. Pressed the power button to turn on the laptop
2.the fans run and the computer makes its usual whirring noises as it would normally do whilst booting up.
3.the screen however remains completely inactive. As if the laptop is off.
4. I turned it off and on again several times. Once it came on and worked as normal, I could access all files and backup everything.
5. This morning I turned it back on and it has done the same thing. Makes the sounds as normal but screen is inactive.
I have turned off and on again and connected an HDMI cable to an external screen but there is no signal.
HP Pavilion dv6 1335 TX - Notebook PC (New Zealand).Mute button is red the whole time and no sound through laptop speakers. # LED light is 5 as per your external component identification manual.

Lovely machine this, but a couple of times now, I've accidentally hit the wireless enable/disable touch button above the keyboard. Does any one know please whether there is a way of disabling this from working in Win 7?
View 6 Replies View RelatedA friend of mine recently purchased a brand new VGN-CS11S_P notebook. All works fine except for the volume ‘Touch Sensor Buttons’ which are extremely unresponsive.
I’m referring to the strip of multimedia touch buttons as pointed out in this image: ...
I upgraded the OS to Windows 7 professional x64 several months ago, at that time sony had not provided the drivers yet,
but still Win7 recognized most of the devices and I've tried to install the drivers for other OS,
most the installations were incomplete but somehow some of the multi-media buttons worked except for the AV MODE button
The touch sensitive eject button on my new Studio 15 laptop appears to be stuck on. When I reboot the laptop, the media control lights flash back and forth as normal. However, the CD drive immediately ejects and the eject button light stays permanently on. This all happens the second the laptop comes on - long before it boots into Vista. This makes me suspect a hardware rather than software issue.
Â
None of the other touch sensitive media controls work.
Â
I've tried cleaning the button, checking for dirt under and on the button and rebooting the laptop. I also rested it overnight.
Â
I only got the laptop on Friday.
Well after i reformat my pc the gray window that shows after you touch one of the five touch sensitive button doesn't show.same goes when you Fn+F5 which supposed to show WLAN and bluetooth card settings. What application or something i have to install for this?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a dell Studio 1558 laptop. I'm extremely careful not to have liquids anywhere near my keyboard. Â However I was drinking tea and felt I was far enough back that liquids should not even reach the laptop. I was probably about a foot back. Well one of my cats nudged my arm and hit it with enough force that a few drops hit the touch pad. Â I cleaned it up. Â This morning I turn my laptop on and now my left touch pad button does not work. I figured that I probably needed to clean it. So I pried the button off gently. Â And used a little rubbing alcohol on a q-tip and cleaned it off. When I pried it up it didn't look really dirty at all. There was no residue on the inside that I could see. Â I put the button back on, and it still doesn't work. Â So now I'm wondering if enough got inside to actually cause damage or if it's just coincidental that the button stopped working at the same time? Â I used it all the time for copying stuff and scrolling. I can use all the other buttons and scroll without using it.
Should the cleaning underneath have cured it if it was the liquid? If the liquid got past the underneath of the key itself then it should have affected the whole key pad not just one key, right?
I've got an Acer Aspire 5313 and I've never had any problems with it.
Last night it shut itself down to install updates when I was out of the room, so I left it off and didn't notice anything wrong. But today when I went to power it up I noticed that the battery light was flashing orange/amber while the power light was a solid orange and there was no indicator that it was plugged in.
If I unplug it and power it up the light stays a solid green, like normal, and I've got an almost full charge, but the instant I plug it in the light starts flashing amber/orange again and it doesn't seem to recognise that I've plugged the cord in.
I've tried a bunch of different 'solutions' that I've been able to find but none of them worked. I haven't downloaded anything in a while and I don't go anywhere near BIOS, since I've got no idea what I'm doing. I know very little about computers though, so there were some 'solutions' that I've not tried yet.
I use this for school, so it's used frequently for hours at a time. If it's simply a new power cord for it, which is what I first thought it might be, that's fine. But the green light on the power supply turns on normally, so I'm not sure that that's the problem.
i have a brand new aspire 5920 notebook. The round power button LED always used to glow Blue. A week back, the power button started glowing Amber. It stays amber irrespective of whether it's running on AC or battery power. The power indicator at the bottom right stays on even after i shutdown the notebook thus draining out the battery.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI received my Dell Studio 1737 only a few hours ago and the immediate problem I've found is that Fn+F10 and the eject soft touch button don't eject a CD whilst in Vista. They work fine in the BIOS or Diagnostics Utility but don't work when the machine boots up into Vista.Â
BIOS is showing as A04 and the latest available on the Dell Drivers website is A02
I'm currently having a problem with my Vostro 3460. Once in a while, when I plug in the AC Adapter to my laptop, it'll make 2 beeps sound and show an error about battery is unrecognized, the battery light in the front panel will flash between amber and white. I have tried to reseat the battery several times but it's not working. Below are some pictures I took when this happened:Â
I also recorded how the battery light looks like when this happened here: [URL] ...
I just put in a DVD to test the speakers sound quality and noticed the sound is very low. Even when turned up via the touch controls the audio is barely audible (hardly one of the best laptop audios). Am I missing something, or did I get a bad apple?
View 6 Replies View Relatedthe speakers sound blown out at anything above minimal volume. i don't need them for music, only watching tv shows or short internet clips. there's what i guess you'd call a rattle when anyone is talking. i just want to know if there's any options i can set from the IDT audio control panel as well as specific EQ functions on playback programs like winamp or media player classic to help solve this. isn't getting outside speakers or headphones.
View 6 Replies View RelatedAnyone have issues with these speakers lately. Mine just got back from hp repair and the speakers seem to be no better than before. Tons of static when playing music, tons of static. Most songs are downright terrible, even at lower volume.
View 6 Replies View RelatedThe speakers for my dv9640us are cracking when the songs have a little bit of bass, guess they're damaged. They're altec lansing. I was searching and found some posts saying very good things about harman kardon speakers and JBL,anyone knows if there is such a thing as speakers replacement or upgrade for notebooks? If not i guess i'll have to buy new altec ones.

View 10 Replies View RelatedThe speakers on my laptop are not working. The weird thing is the sound works when I plug in my headphones in either headphone jack (so that's good news, I suppose). But when I unplug the headphones, no sound.
Here's the thing; you know those media buttons that make that little beep whenever you touch any of them? Well, they work fine (volume up and down, mute, DVD and QuickPlay), but no beep sound from them either!
if I can utilize full 5.1 speakers on my dv3t with the use of an external soundcard to USB. Here are the products on Newegg I am looking at buying.

I looked at the 7 channel USB device just in case later down the road I want to upgrade to a 7.1. For now, I want to use the 5.1 speakers in my dorm room. Also, I am running Windows 7 Home Premium. Will these speakers with the soundcard work just as if I had them in a desktop?
I would like to clean the speaker grill on my dv5000t without taking my laptop apart, but for some reason I can't find a way to do this.

I purchased a 13" HP Dv3t-2000 Moonlight White laptop back in May 2009. I got this particular model before HP released the backlit keyboard option in their slightly newer DV3t's. I also upgraded from Windows Vista Home Premium 64 bit to Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit in October 2009.
Anyways, ever since I got my laptop I've had an audio issue. Whenever I turn my volume up to 100%, and I play music or a youtube video through my built in speakers, the audio output gets crackly. I can feel the audio vibrating through my laptop. I have to turn my volume down to around 64% to eliminate only a part of the crackling.
This crackling issue doesn't happen when I listen to audio through headphones or earbuds. But I would like to have clear audio output through my built in speakers.
ON A SIDE NOTE: My brother got a 13" HP Dv3t Espresso Black about a month after mine, and his has a backlit keyboard. When he turns his volume to the max, and plays something through his built in speakers, there is NO CRACKLING whatsoever!
I went to his Speaker settings and found that he has the IDT High Definition Audio Codec installed. I checked mine and it just says Default speakers. That raised a red flag - the fact that I didn't have this IDT codec could be my problem..........
I want to make it so one finger tap would be left click and two finger tap would be right click. Is this possible. If so, how would I go about doing this.

As soon as I received it, I formated the drive and installed Windows XP Pro SP3. So far so good. All drivers installed, everything working.
Except for one little detail : I have sound on subwoofer only, no speaker, not even on headphones, no matter what jack I plug in. Sub does turn off when I plug the headphones though.
I tried several IDT drivers, all act the same.
