Lenovo U/S Series :: IdeaPad S510p - Frequent And Unpredictable BSOD - Windows 8.1 64bit
Apr 29, 2014My Ideapad S510p has accrued over 10 BSODs over the past 2 weeks. It is totally random, not due to putting it in sleep mode, and apparently is caused by a failure in the ntoskrnl.exe and usbehci.sys.
I have tried looking for malfunctioning devices, and disabled bluetooth as it was apparently not working.
I also installed several new drivers. This solved nothing, and I am at a loss of what to do entirely.

Jul 30, 2014Recently I purchased a Lenovo IdeaPad S510p with DOS installed in it.
Then I installed Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 x64, and downloaded all Windows 7 drivers from the lenovo support website.
But the left two USB 3 ports don't detect at all. They are not working.

Jul 25, 2014On my Y510p I am getting low memory warnings wether im playing a game or just idling or on youtbe. When I open up the task manager its says my memory is at 70%-100% WHILE IDLE but the programs are only using like 25%-40% memory so something is hidden. Just looking for a fix or allocating more memory to Windows. I have an 8Gb system.

If music is playing, it continues to play, screen saver continues to go, but keyboard and mouse are locked up, system is unresponsive. Have to do hard shut down and then restart. I've checked power settings and nothing seems odd.

Aug 10, 2014I bought my G505s in August 2013 and I'm only noticing now that it's been running pretty hot.I've been using several different programs to try to see and compare the temperatures of the quad core CPUs. I've also looked in many different fourm communities and have found this is not at all like the common overheating problems with the G505s. Others have experienced other heating problems when they play games, as their cores go to around 70C to 80C
"How so," you ask?Details and actions I've taken:
1. My temperatures soar to above 80C each when idle, and over 100 when doing light work.
2. BIOS and drivers have all been updated to the latest versions available for Windows 8.1 as per the Lenovo website.
3. I have never played games on the laptop, so I know the overheating is not because something related to that.
4. I cleaned my computer yesterday, although there was hardly any dust build up.
My temperature readings come from speccy, and hwmonitor.

Came with Win7 Home premium x64
The Win7 that it came with also had lenovo energy management through which I could toggle the WLAN and bluetooth on and off. Since I never used the bluetooth, I turned it off via energy mgmt.
Also interestingly, when I was running Win7 I had it dual boot with Ubuntu. And if my Bluetooth was turned off via EM from win7... bluetooth wouldn't be recognised in ubuntu and there was no way of turning it back on... I had to boot back into win7 and turn it on via EM and boot back into ubuntu.
Recently I updated to Win8.1 but hadn't turned on the bluetooth before doing so. In Win8.1 the bluetooth device is not recognised anywhere..not in PC settings(metro UI), not even in device manager. I tried to install the energy management for 8.1 from the support site but it was extremely buggy and didnt find any option to turn on bluetooth. The old EM didnt install properly in comaptibilty mode.
In ubuntu now (dual boot with win8.1) its still the same. Bluetooth not regonised just as before.
I cannot go back to win7 now. There is no proper EM for win8.1. There is no option in BIOS regarding bluetooth. How do i turn on the bluetooth adapter?

Nov 28, 2013After installing the windows 8.1 update i can't get the sound to work on my tv. When i connect me laptop to the tv by a HDMI cable the sound doesn't work. The playback option is already set to 'realtek digital output' and i installed the latest drivers.
When i check my device manager i see that the high definition audio has got a exclamation mark on it,
but when i try to install de latest drivers trough the device manager it says that the latest drivers are already istalled.
Well i just don't no a sollution for this problem, and it would be nice to watch movies with sound on my tv again

Sep 25, 2014My wife just updated her G580 with the Windows 8.1 update. Afterwards, the keyboard does not function - no keys respond when trying to sign into the computer, the touch pad does not work (USB mouse does), even the Onekey Rescue System button does not work. The only thing that seems to work is the power button.
I restarted the computer and held down the F2 key and was able to get into the Setup Utility where the keys did function (arrow keys, F1, F2, esc, enter). I didn't see anything obvious to me that might work. Exiting the utility and back at the sign on screen the keys don't function again.
what might be the cause or a way to recover the keyboard?

Nov 10, 2013So I recently updated my u310 Touch to Windows 8.1. My audio isn't working anymore. I've checked the drivers, and updated all that come with the Windows 8.1 update.
My Device Manager says that my Conexant SmartAudio HD is updated, and so is my Intel (R) Display Audio. To make sure, I downloaded and installed the drivers from the Lenovo support site. When I try to play something on iTunes or on Windows Media Player, it just stops, and no sound is emmited. Youtube, or any other music player on the web, isn't working either.

Jan 8, 2013I got a thinkpad w530 with Windowd 8 from the factory and its ultrabay worked really well. I use a few SSDs in the ultrabay and used to swap through them by just ejecting the one currently in use and plugging in another one. However, since Wondows 8.1 update I haven.t been able to do so, as I have to turn off the machine and change the drives.
I believe it has something to do with the OS set up. How to enable the hot swapping capability of the ultrabay?

Oct 20, 2013I have an S440. I've had it for one week. Two days ago I downloaded the Windows 8.1 update from the store. Since then, when I start up the computer, it doesn't even taken me to the 'sign in' screen. There's just a black screen. When I move the cursor, it briefly appears, flickers, then disappears again.
I understand this is an issue with the graphics drivers. So I ran Windows in safemode and disabled Intel R HD Graphics family and AMD Radeon HD 8600 series graphics drivers.
This, unfortunately, hasn't fixed the problem. It still boots to a black screen with an occasionally flickering cursor. I'm currently running in safemode.
Lenovo B / G Series :: B575e Shuts Down In Sleep Mode
Mar 5, 2014This has been happening for a few months. Doesn't do it every time. Now out of waranty.
Closing the lid or sleep mode via Win 7 shut down works. But later and sometimes immediately, when I lift the lid I have to power up and boot. Found on the forum that there is a Intel bios option? Haven't checked that yet. But; this is an AMD unit.
