I am looking very seriously at the FW and have a question about the FW. I was looking at the color choices and one choice was Titanium Gray. Looking at the site the Gray portion almost looks black. My question, is it Black?

I've wondered about this while I was shopping for my Studio 15 and now I'm helping another NBR user also find one via Dell Outlet.
Graphite Gray (apparently no longer available on new models) was offered with Black, Red, Blue or Pink trim. What areas of the notebook are in the "trim" color? Also, can anyone describe the shade of blue used on the Graphite Gray with Blue Trim?
Which one do you prefer?

I searched all over the net and I wasn't able to find an answer. Every time I try to add files my car only recognizes the new file. I used to do this with Nero when I had a Windows based laptop but I'm new to Toast.

I could use a color profile too. Laptop is used for internet, photoshop, 3d modelling and watching somemovies.
I know this is a rather odd question but i'm really weird when it comes to colors and what looks better. I can't decide what fits better on the sony vaio FW between the titanium gray or black.
*Black makes the outside layer of the laptop blend as the top and bottom are black(inside would be silver with black keys).
*Titanium gray has pretty much all that you can see(exluding the bottom of course and keyboards) titanium silverish giving it that blend.
I DON'T KNOW SO VOTE FOR ME.
This is serious, i can't make a purchase on the new sony vaio until i figure out the color T_T
I'm about to buy a Vaio Z CTO from sony style and wondering which color you guys think is best. My initial thoughts were to go with the silver since the black keys seemed to stand out really nicely. Also, my last gen Z was Prem.Carbon Fiber Black, so Silver would be a nice change..

For starters, gamma was too low, I had to calibrate it using standard Display Calibrator in windows (not that i pretend i have a perfect color perception though) to get more details on shady pictures.
After that it was almost perfect, but color saturation was too high. It can be easily tuned using intel vcard control panel, but I've noticed slight flickering in gray color areas (only when using intel vcard), so I decided to switch to Nvidia card for text editing. But I can't reduce color intensity using Nvidia control panel! Digital vibrance is set to zero by default and can not be negative (at least in current drivers).
It there any way to overcome this problem? Am I the only one noticing? Every time I fire up my text editor, syntax highlighting is more like "Fear and loathing in Las Vegas", even page links on this forum are too purple.
It's not caused by increased gamma, I noticed it long before.

I just picked up the Sony Vaio F series from Best Buy and noticed that the video colors are distorted (bluish) when playing blu-ray or regular videos on the laptop. I tried tinkering with the display and nvidia settings. No luck. Pictures / images look fine. Only videos have the odd bluish color.

I have adjusted my screen brightness/color/contrast via the NVidia Control Panel, but I periodically lose my settings. Initially there was a conflict with the VAIO Control Center - display settings there superseded whatever I did in the NVidia Control Panel. I eventually figured out how to get the NVidia Control Panel settings to stick by changing the display settings in the VAIO Control Center first - or at least I thought I did. It would work for a few reboots, but eventually I seemed to lose my settings again. So I uninstalled the VAIO Control Center hoping that would leave my NVidia Control Panel settings alone. But lo & behold I still periodically lose those settings (the NVidia Control Panel radio button "Other applications control color settings" is inexplicably selected.) Any ideas? (And yes, I hit "Apply" before closing out the NVidia Control Panel.)

Notebook check says it's 357 nits! Is that really the case, b/c I thought the Sony Z would have the best screen and it was something like 280 nits. 357 is just ridiculously bright and the brightest that I've ever heard of.

I started to have a little issue with my LCD..Sometimes when I touch it on the top of the screen( where is webcam) or when I change the angle of the screen, the screen change to this error (greeen color is "error color"):
View 7 Replies View RelatedI now have a grey screen on booting and it is trying to reboot itself.It started with lines then dots. I managed to boot OK once after this but now just a grey screen. I believe I have managed to start diagnostics pressing Fn while starting as I heard beeps which kept repeating until I pressed Y, yes, I heard the sounds, I guess. But I can only see a grey screen so do not know the results of the tests. There are no beeps or diagnostic lights staying on or flashing to tell me anything. I had this problem before but cannot remember what I did if anything to remedy it.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an hp compaq nx6330 (ex856av) using windows xp. last may, the screen turned black (i was told i need to replace the lcd), so i decided to use a generic external monitor. a couple of months ago, i had to have it repaired and the repair guy said he'll upgrade the OS to windows 7. things were working fine for about a month then the screen (external monitor, since the laptop screen is dead) starting having vertical gey lines (the entire screen). i played with the resolution and i was able to get rid ofthe lines a couple of times. are the lines due to using windows7? can this particular model handle any OS besides the one (windows xp) it came with?Â

I would like to know if this is an display panel issue or the display cable issue?
My son's laptop has decided to be a jerk and not boot any longer.Â
It turns on then goes to a gray blue screen. I can get into set up the usual way and have tried other buttons but usually get a warning in regards to the hard drive when we try boot mode.
The laptops key board basically doesn't work either so I use an external one
I am thinking Hard Drive is fried....
When I power it on it has a white screen with shading or streaking of gray/black. Cannot get it to move past this. Unable to reach tech support. Still under warranty.

Â It seems to turn on (little green light comes on) when I access the Windows 8 camera app or any other app (like skype), but I do not see anything out of the camera except for a gray screen with a camera icon that has a bar through it. Â It looks like the camera needs to be activated somewhere but where to look. Â I have checked the driver and it seems to be fine (no yellow warning icon), I even unistalled and reinstalled the latest camera driver from the support website but that does not change anything. Â

this is my first time posting, and i have a question.
i've heard that later on there will be different color lids for the sxps 13 and 16.
i understand that this is both a studio and an xps, so it makes me wonder if i can have cool designs on the top. i don't know how thats gonna fly with the leather, because black is the only color that i can think of that would go with it.
so heres my question: do you think that dell will release custom, or at least different colors for the sxps? possibly midnight blue, the RED one, white, brown, green. anything. and if you do, when do you think they will release the new options?

i will say that "color profile" is useful for 2D graphics,
screens - scanners - digital cameras - software " Photoshop", uses this profiles as an way to preserve and display correctly the color tones on your screen.
I've been looking at the HP dv5t, and I've noticed that the keyboard primaily comes in that shiny silver color... I don't like it beacuse you get to see finger prints everywhere.is there any way/option for HP to make the keyboard black or not as reflective?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have the new, or a new, HP dv7-1240us. THE KEYBOARD COLOR SUCKS! I cannot see the letters or numbers due to the reflectivity of the keys and poor choice of label color. Is there a way to replace this, well I know there is, I need to know where and how to get a hold of a new keyboard assembly for an Onyx colored laptop. Somebody shoulda laid off the wacky weed when coming up with this color scheme for the keyboard.
