Like the title says, I just noticed now that the touch pads scrolling doesn't work.
I usually use a usb mouse but sometimes I don't have that with me and wanted to know if anyone knew where to find a driver for the touch pad.
I looked on dells website but didn't find anything, but maybe I didn't look hard enough?
My friend bought a U430 Touch with Windows 8. He hated Win 8 so downgrade to Win 7. Now the wireless dowsn't work. Ethernet works fine and we are able to get on the internet, but wireless does not work at all. I've been to Lenovo's site and downloaded the drivers from their support site, but nothing weems to work. Is there a special driver I'm missing?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have had my aspire e1 touch for a couple months now and a couple weeks in it randomly wouldn't detect the touch ability. I have to shut the laptop down and back on again for it to work (simple restart won't work) It's a new computer so I haven't upgraded any os, it's running with the Windows 8.1 it came with and I have chrome as the browser. It seems to happen when I wake it from sleep, not in the middle of using it. When the touch is not working, the device manager doesn't even detect that touch is an option (it's hidden, but grey and cannot be enabled)....
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I recently updated my u310 Touch to Windows 8.1. My audio isn't working anymore. I've checked the drivers, and updated all that come with the Windows 8.1 update.
My Device Manager says that my Conexant SmartAudio HD is updated, and so is my Intel (R) Display Audio. To make sure, I downloaded and installed the drivers from the Lenovo support site. When I try to play something on iTunes or on Windows Media Player, it just stops, and no sound is emmited. Youtube, or any other music player on the web, isn't working either.

After installing the updates the touch gestures are not working anymore. I tried updating my drivers, which I downloaded from the Acer support site, but it did not work. All gestures are not working. View 3 Replies View RelatedI've buyed a new XPS12 convertible ultrabook, when I've received the PC, the LCD not working, then has been replaced the LCD, but after that the LCD working in proper manner, but the Touch screen not running (date 17 of jan 2013) since this time the Technical support can not be able to solve this problem, first istance said there was some firmware version problem, they replace another time the LCD, but not solve the problem.
Today 34 day after receiving the payed ultrabook no answer has been provided, the only solution is to receive a new XPS12 but DELL need anoter 50 day to try to send me another PC.
I'm not sure if mt drivers are old, but my touch screen works sometimes then completely stops working and when I try to calibrate it, it tells me that there's no N-Trig duosense hardware on my computer. It says I DO have the hardware when it's in a 'working stage' though. Every time I try to download a driver, it says 'fatal error.'

I'm not sure why as nothing changed... that I know of.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers, I have made sure all drivers are up dated (as on dell.com), and eventually I even formatted the HDD thinking some update must have caused this.
Unfortunately I have had no luck.
Just to add, Dell replaced my screen (due to ghost images) about a month ago - I'm thinking this could be the cause.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a XPS 15 L502x.... and sometime in the past week, my touch screen has stopped responding completely. I've tried everything i can think of... all the settings i can find relating to touch input appear to be correct, etc, but no luck. I'm usually decently ok at fixing the problems my computer has on my own through a little internet research, but either no one's had this problem and posted about it or its buried many pages down in google.
I dont have time to go through the phone tech support hassle for another few days and i miss being able to use the touch screen function. Not that it was ever super-functional to begin with, but it was nice for scrolling and such ....

i found out strange thing happened to my laptop. When i tried to play mp3, or any other file through wmp, vlc, itunes no sound was heard. when tried to play with wmp it showed up error i clciked web help but no useful info was found in there. when through vlc i just kept playing music (without sound) i tried updating drivers reinstalling to them that were shipped but no good. i have the warranty bought from the dell. i can/ but dont want to acces the mainboard so i wont loose my warranty. i now think it is a soft/drivers problem. in device manager it shows that everything is ok. tried so set the default audio device, microphone not working ***

I have a dell Studio 1558 laptop. I'm extremely careful not to have liquids anywhere near my keyboard. However I was drinking tea and felt I was far enough back that liquids should not even reach the laptop. I was probably about a foot back. Well one of my cats nudged my arm and hit it with enough force that a few drops hit the touch pad. I cleaned it up. This morning I turn my laptop on and now my left touch pad button does not work. I figured that I probably needed to clean it. So I pried the button off gently. And used a little rubbing alcohol on a q-tip and cleaned it off. When I pried it up it didn't look really dirty at all. There was no residue on the inside that I could see. I put the button back on, and it still doesn't work. So now I'm wondering if enough got inside to actually cause damage or if it's just coincidental that the button stopped working at the same time? I used it all the time for copying stuff and scrolling. I can use all the other buttons and scroll without using it.
Should the cleaning underneath have cured it if it was the liquid? If the liquid got past the underneath of the key itself then it should have affected the whole key pad not just one key, right?
i purchased laptop vaio vgn-c36mj and the original windows "x64"freezes and i had to format and i downloaded vista x32 and it worked fine but the problem is the touch buttoms aren't working
note:i downloaded all the drivers for x32 from the site and still they don't work and i checked device manager and found nothing not installed and b4 my format there were cool wallpapers vaio and some applications i don't remember from vaio but didn't find them on the site

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have dell inspiron duo 1090 with a multi touch screen suportted in windows 7, and the multi touch feature (right click with 2 fingers touch, zooming) used to work until I upgraded dell datasafe local backup to version 9.4.60 (after automatic reminder) and after this install the touch screen is working but the multi-tocuh functionality doesn't (although it was enabled in the windows settings) - no zooming or right click with 2 features touch, after I restored this software to version 9.4.51 the multi-touch is back to work, I checked this again and again to isolate the source of the problem and it really seems like a strange bug in datasafe 9.4.60.
How do I report this bug to dell so I could update the dell datasafe to an updated version but without loosing the multi-touch functionality.
I think I accidentally turned off the volume bar on my laptop and I'm not sure how to turn it back on. sound does work I have to manually adjust it using the volume icon and all the lights are on. I can't even turn on/off my wireless button.

View 11 Replies View RelatedEvery time when the laptop goes to sleep mode by itself and I turn it on again, the touch screen will be partly unresponsive, to be more specific, it is the upper part of the screen. The problem is only at the screen, mouse and touchpad are working fine. Now I can solve the problem by pressing power button to let it sleep and press again to turn it on, but I don't want to do this everyday.

A week ago the touch pad stopped working . Only a USB mouse will keep the cursor alive. I'm posting this because I couldn't find any relevant info on any forums or online sony support centres and hope this might aid others in the same situation.
If your Sony VAIO touch pad doesn't work there are steps to take to find out exactly where the problem lies...
It might be static electric interference try...
1. Shut down
2. Unplug adapter
3. Remove battery
4. Hold down the power button for 1-2 minutes
5. Insert battery
6. Power on, test.
Still under warranty Sony phone support were however quite helpful and efficient, this is what they told me............
