I keep getting a message on my laptop: Catalyst control center: host application has stopped working.
This has started happening after I tried to do a BIOS update last week and I ended up with the blue screen of death & had to recover my whole laptop.
My HP Pavillion 15 Notebook PC (15-n083sa) is reporting that the Catalyst Control Centre has stopped working correctly. I do not understand what this error relates to ....
I'm running win8.1.

I get this message every time the computor starts.

i have downloaded Catalyst Control Center several times but it is still not working. I have Paviliion dv6-6120se, AMD radeon hd 6490M and built-in intel GPU hd 3000 both GPUs is working fine but the problem started when i uninstalled the Catalyst Control Center in order to get a new updated one from AMD website. But the AMD site said my version of radeon hd 6490M is not supported anyway i have tried everything i uninstalled the ATI GPU driver and install it again. Somehow I downloaded Catalyst Control Center the and the installation finished and the same problem it is still not working. Now i lost the Catalyst Control Center and the switchable graphics config.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy webcam stopped working all of a sudden. I have HP ENVY dv6-7258nr Notebook PC with Windows 8. The camera app says "Connect a camera." and the device manager does not show "Imaging Devices". Instead there is "Other Devices" which has a subcategory of "Unknown Devices" with a yellow mark.
I have updated, reinstalled cyberlink youcam drivers, tried system restore (which does not complete saying i have an anti virus open when i don't have any antivirus on my notebook) but nothing works. Scanning for hardware does not bring up any thing. I have also followed the instructions given on hp site and opened the youcam software but it does not detect the camera.
Laptop is only 9 months old. I did all of the updates and then my touchscreen stopped working - that was 4 days ago. Today I did a system restore to the point before the 1st critical update (9/24/14). It still does not work. Did it corrupt my driver? And if so, what is the name of the driver? How can I restore the touch screen...

I have a vague idea that it has something to do with my ATI drivers?
I get the message right after I log in. I can access my desktop and the Internet, but the taskbar with the programs at the top is missing.
When I go to Explorer, my laptop also can't find any of my libraries (documents, pictures, etc.).
Anyone else has experienced a similar problem? It happened yesterday...

Some days ago I upgraded to windows 8.1 64 bit but when i download the latest driver for amd radeon hd 8750m and installed it..but when i opened the graphics control centre the was no options except information..even not in advansed view..so i can't configure the options..when i opened a game to test the GPU it was not working...there was a lot of frame skips..but previously i didn't have any skips..so what should i do.
I have a travel mate loaded with erecovery management. I keep getting a message "internet control panel has stopped working". This appears to be an appcrash; the guilty party being rundll32.exe. In addition "computer" has gone from my start menu and from windows explorer. Start menu.
I have carried out a sfc/scannow which says there are corrupted files that cant be repaired. System restore has not worked either. There appears to be 3 different options open to me to "restore" my system.

Recently I am getting blue screens and later message appear saying the ATM driver stopped working. I found many problems with this driver in the past as well. When I check the relevent page for my laptop model, there is no update since 2012..
Can I update these two drivers seperately by getting updates from Intel and AMD sites?
Is there any update for catalyst control system (CCC) ?
When I try to update through the CCC or HP Support Assist, it is always no updates..
After reading many reviews here, I finally ordered and received my Studio XPS with the RGBLED screen. I felt the reds were a little harsh so I made a few adjustments in Catalyst Control Center that seemed to help.
But I still wanted to make a few more adjustments...So before I got too deep I checked and saw there was an updated driver. So now I updated the driver and it seemed to install okay except now the Catalyst Control Center won't open.
I wanted to update my ATI CCC driver. So I downloaded the latest ccc, uninstalled from from my laptop, restarted, installed latest ccc, restarted. Now when I start windows 7 the little icon doesnt show up in the system tray.
I have an ati mobility radeon 4200 on windows 7 x64.
if anyone can recommend a firewall application that controls both the incoming and the outgoing traffic. The built in firewall protects from incoming request, but I'd like to control the outgoing connections as well. I did a search and found 1 thread, but it's more than a year old.
Little Snitch and WaterRoof (and its simpler version NoobProof) seem to fit the bill. Any recommendation besides these?
My laptop is dell inspirion 5520 with core i5, 8GB memory and amd radeon HD 7670M. When i bought adm radeon switchable graphic works ok. Yesterday, I update the graphic driver. version is 8.933.3.4 from dell website.
Previous version is 8.933.3.0.
After updating, catalyst control center can't load. So, I roll back previous driver version but the catalyst control center can't load.
I think switchable graphic not work.
Computer is a year old. Windows 8. If i reset the computer the sound will come on for as long as im using it, but the second i walk away and come back its off and not working.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI purchased an Envy 15-J108la notebook about a month ago (Windows 8.1 64). I also bought a Microsoft bluetooth mouse to use with it.
First I noticed mouse stoped working randomly, maybe 2 times a day. Sometimes it was enough to turn it off and on again to recover it, but sometimes I had to reboot.
I updated the bluetooth driver (Intel Bluetooth 4.0 Driver, 2014-01-18, Version 3.1), problem persisted but seemed to occur less frequently.
Today after installing an update for the wireless adapter the device manager reported that the Intel Bluetooth 4.0 device was faulting. Tried to dissable and re-enable but the device simply dissapeared. Now device manager reports a "Unknown USB device" with error 43, and bluetoth devices are not detected, no matter how many times I reboot.
My beats speakers stopped working all of a sudden..

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an HP Envy j011dx that came with Windows 8 Home Edition(64b9t). I put in an SSD and upgraded the ram and installed Win 7 Pro(64bit). Everything is working great except the control keys don't work. When I hit the left ctrl, I get, [9- and the right ctrl, I get, l; I have searched and tried a few different drivers and have looked at some posts about downgrading to 7 and haven't seen anything on this issue. I have ran all windows updates and tried several different drivers. I put the old HD in with W8 and it works so it isn't a hardware issue. I originally looked at this post before doing the downgrade and it gave me the confidence to move forward with putting Win7 on. I have until Friday to take this back to the store if I can't get it working. I have also checked the region/language settings.

I've tried reverting to previous system restore points. I've also installed the BIOS, Intel chipset, and graphics drivers. All the other function keys are working properly, just can't change the brightness. Right now it's stuck on the brightest setting. I'm getting terrible eye strain from the screen.

I have uninstalled/re-installed the driver, rebooted, and still no sound. When I right-click Speakers/HP, and Test - the pop-up says Device in Use. There are no legit applications using the device. I have been running Windows Defender since I used the official HP Recovery Discs I ordered. I have not visited questionable websites, yet, it looks like I have malware?
the hot keys are not working and also i have reinstalled my hp and amd graphics for my hp envy m6 1204tx and they are showing yellow tringle boxes?
