I have an HP Pavilion DV2700 (DV2799ea) that is about a year old. It has built-in bluetooth which can be quite tempremental. A week ago I searched the net for a way to get my bluetooth working properly and decided to download the latest version of bluetooth for my laptop from the HP website. I then restarted my laptop, like it said. The bluetooth worked perfectly. My internet connection, however, wouldn't work.
I tried going into the very beginning of the laptop and rolling the computer back to a few hours before I installed the new bluetooth in the hope that the bluetooth would be gone but my internet would be back (as I would rather obviously have internet than bluetooth). This did not work.
I also started the laptop in safe mode, but this made no difference.
I also tried diagnosing the problem, finding a new IP address, restarting the laptop again, changing router numbers etc.
I also tried disconnecting the bluetooth, but this didn't make any difference.
I also tried completely removing the wireless connection and then reconnecting it all, this also did not work...................
Bought this new laptop yesterday HP Pavilion dv5-1235dx from Bestbuy, we purchased a recovery disc and in order to make this disc the bextbuy personnel had to configure the network, when we brought it home and tried it on our network we can see all pc's on the network but we cannot access any pc's file on the C drive and we cannot access this laptop's C drive from any of the other pc's on the network and the error message does not give a reason why, I called up HP and they are telling me I have to pay for support for this issue which I will not so anyone here have any ideas please?
I disabled the Vista firewalls on all pc's and uninstalled all anti-virus systems on the laptop.
I just gave my wife a new HP Envy 15t touchscreen laptop. She plugged in the ac adapter to charge up the battery and the adaptor got very hot. Is this normal?

I would like to replace it with at least a 500 gb SSD.

I've recently noticed a problem with my PC's speakers not working. I'm not entirely sure what causes them to stop working, but if I remember correctly, the first time I remember it happening was after I had my computer plugged into the TV via an HDMI cable. Since then, the speakers seem to come and go. I think restarting my computer usually brings them back, but I was curious if there was another way to fix them other than that and if I could do something to keep this from happening in the future. Also, I'm interested in finding out why this is happening to my PC.
I have an HP ENVY dv6 Notebook PC...
It happens that my laptop sometimes start showing 4 displays and sometimes when rebooted several times. Starts working normally. Seems to me more of a drivers problem or else why would it start normally if this was a hardware problem. Also, when laptop was running, I kept shaking the laptop just to check if it was a hardware problem like the lcd's cable might be loose which fitted in the motherboard but it was not the case.
Laptop is: HP Envy 6.+Laptop is not under warranty.
I have attached the photos.

I recently purchased an HP Envy and am confused as to why my RECOVERY (D drive only has 2.37 GB out of 23.7 GB left available. I did perform a backup from McAffee after purchasing this laptop but nothing else.
View 1 Replies View RelatedHow do I turn on Wifi with my Envy m6 1117TX laptop? A few days ago, a technician from a mobile wireless provider told me how to turn it off but now I have access to a Wifi connection and I can't remember how to turn it on. I've spent all day trying to find any information on this at all and have come to the conclusion that HP has easily the worst support system for simple questions of any company I've ever encountered.

View 3 Replies View Relatedi have recently purchased and HP Envy 17 laptop and have been trying to backup all of my iphone 5s photos and videos onto thelaptop however everytime i try to play videos either through the photos folder or the photos library app nothing works. In the photo app the app just freezes and crashes and in the photos documents folder media player just comes up not responding. This hapens with the vast majority of my videos i have seen that other people have had the same issure and i have installed the VLC video app as suggested and still nothing works.
there has been an IOS update since i started taking videos however this makes no diffeence as the handful of videos that do work are from both before and after the update so it can not be an issue with my phone and the videos i have taken in the last few days dont work.
The laptop has been working okay until today just get a black screen after logging in. I can hit Ctrl alt del but nothing happens
View 3 Replies View RelatedWithin the last couple of weeks, the sound quit working on my laptop. Since purchasing, I have been able to mute the sound and turn it back on with no trouble, but now when I unmute the sound, nothing happens. The sound icon and the Volume Mixer all show that the sound is working and is set at the highest volume, but nothing comes out. Given that this laptop has beatsaudio, it's frustrating.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have recently purchased an HP ENVY 15t-j100 Quad Edition CTO Notebook Windows 7 Professional (PC Product #: E1P05AV). I'll usually close the lid to put it into sleep mode when I have to do something else. But when I open it back up, it has the "Start windows normally or safe mode" sreen. I've noticed that this only happens after a certain amount of time of being in sleep mode. If I wake it up prior to that, it works just fine. I hope that this can be resolved since this is a brand new laptop.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have an HP ENVY dv6t-7300 laptop. I'd like to connect it to a 1920x2000 24" monitor. My laptop has a max screen resolution of 1366x768. A couple of questions...
1). Is an HDMI cord the best way to to connect to the monitor?
2). Will the monitor stretch the 1366 pixels to fit the 1920 pixels or will the image not fill the monitor?
I have an HP Envy m6 laptop with a Qualcomm Atheros AR9485 802.1b/g/n WiFi Adapter.
I have a Belkin DB600 N+ router.
All the phones and pc's on the wifi are fine and picking up the N-band.
My laptop is not. I have Windows 8.1 installed in it. My laptop is running fine on the g-band, and it's seeing all the b and g bands, just not the n-band.
I've updated my wifi adapter driver through the "Update Driver" option on the adapter, and I've also uninstalled and rebooted my wifi adapter driver (to have it reset to the original driver). It's still not picking up the n-band.
Just bought a new HP ENVY m6 Notebook PC. CyberLink YouCam 5 cam pre-installed. I can open the software and it appears to run fine but when I try to access the settings the computer freezes and locks up. I end up having to hold down the power button to force a shutdown.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I just bought a new HP ENVY TouchSmart 17-j130us (Windows 8.1) a few weeks ago and now something is wrong with the screen. I decided I would connect my laptop to my TV monitor via HDMI. I set the laptop on top of my Xfinity cable box while it was plugged in (HDMI cable is too short) and continued doing my homework. A few hours later, when I unplugged it from the HDMI cable and picked the laptop up, the screen turned greenish and flickered. It went away eventually. But then I noticed that when I tilted the screen back or fowards or even slightly moved the laptop, the screen would turn green again and flicker green a little. I hope this is not my fault in some way. The touchscreen and the backlight works just fine. I can still see what's on the screen while its green. Right now it's fine unless I move the laptop or tilt the screen in some way. Also, when plugged into the TV, that’s fine as well.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have owned my hp envy 17 laptop for almost 2 years now. Recently my computer has been making a really loud noise and it seems it is working a lot harder than it needs to be. I suspect the fan or the hard drive is the culprit but I have convinced myself it is the hard drive.
When I start up my computer the loud noise begins almost immediately after startup. This noise sounds like the computer is working as hard as it possibly can, almost making a grinding noise. Even after the computer has booted up, this noise continues for another minute or two before it stops, then my laptop becomes quiet. What puzzles me, and leads me to believe it is the hard drive, is the fact my computer get unreasonably hot when the noise occurs; it never used to do this before.
This situation is something I have never heard of before. My laptop for some reason ,when it is moved or bumped, even the slightest, start to "rev" and the hard drive roars; it does this for five minutes or so. It also does this when the laptop is closed, and in "sleep mode"; the slightest bump lets it off like a baby. I suspect that there is a switch, flap or wire that is not attached properly and when moved it triggers the hard drive.
The main thing I do when the sound occurs is I close the laptop lid which puts it in sleep mode and turns off the hard drive, silencing it for the time being. This solution I came across by accident; I turned my laptop sideways when the sound occurs and the sound stops until I put the laptop upright again(Laptop is open).
I have a HP ENVY TouchSmart M7-J010DX Laptop with Core i7 Haswell CPU and Intel Centrino Wireless N-2230 card. Product number is E0K83UAR and I'm running Windows 8.1 OS. Lately, I've experienced many occasions when the laptop fails to connect to a wireless network when other PCs in the same room connect. I should say it mostly connects, but with "limited connectivity" and no Internet access. I struggled during a week's vacation to connect and then had a problem connecting when I returned home, where I previously had no problems. And I'm having this problem on networks that previously were not a problem. I've read on this forum that many people are having similar problems. So, I'd like to upgrade the wireless/bluetooth card to something that is known to work more reliably. I assume I would have to stay in the Intel family. I saw one recommendation for an Intel AC 7260 card...
View 3 Replies View RelatedThe Wifi on this laptop keeps either dropping connection, or changing to a "limited" network. Sometimes it works fine, but more often than not it drops out. All other wifi enabled devices in my house work fine, so I know it's not the internet. I've also tested on two other networks where the same dropping out occurs.

I have not used my webcam for a while, but recently updated Skype. When I went to use the web cam it was not detected. When I try Cyberlink Ucam it says no webcam detected. I checked the driver in Device Manager and it is ok. I used HP Recovery Manager and reinstalled the Cyberlink software but it is still undetected. Is there some keyboard switch for the camera or something simple that I am missing??
