Dell Inspiron 15R N5110 :: Only Works When Plugged In Otherwise Just Shut Down

My laptop just shut down on me out of nowhere. The battery wasn't low, in fact it had just finished charging. It wouldn't turn back on until I plugged it back in and tried. The battery is at 86%, not charging. The battery indicator light flashes red 4 times, then white then off.
It can now only run when it is plugged in. I can start my laptop and it runs fine while plugged in but as soon as it is unplugged, it shuts off.
I assume this is a hardware issue and what caused it. Nonetheless, I used the diagnostic tools provided and found no issue and tried a system restore to no avail.
My laptop is a few weeks out of warranty (classic)...

My Dell N5110 has started not stutting down completely although it looks like it has shut down the power light is still on and I have to press the power light for about 10 sec to get it to go off. Also if I am working on the laptop and just shut the lid it won't wake up when I open the lid Have tried pushing every button but nothing happens Have to press the power button to shut down and then restart. I have changed all the power settings many times but nothing fixes the problem.

This morning i had a sudden blue screen of death. Following the restart, i got a message prompt along the lines of:
pxe-m0f exiting.... selecting proper boot device.
I changed the hard drive to boot first instead of the disk drive but nothing else happened.
I read that it was a hard drive problem when i searched the web. I took apart my laptop and cleaned all the dust off the insides and made sure they were clean. Put it back together and it was good as new. It turned on like normal. I was very much relieved, until I noticed the laptop wasn't charging. I've tried the flea reset, battery drain etc but I can't get the battery/laptop to charge. The laptop won't even charge on with the AC and no battery. My laptop has been fine for the last year or so and now 1 BSOD has ruined it.

Battery of Dell(inspiron 15R N5110) isn't charged, although it is installed well and the computer is plugged inEven if it were corrupted, then it would have charged.
If you see the screenshot, you will see that the laptop is working on the main power supply, and battery is empty, but it isn't charging. I am sure that it is installed well.

Okay...so, a while back, my computer had a problem where the computer would say that it's "plugged in, not charging." I fixed this by getting a new adapter. ([URL]...)
While the charging problem is fixed, whenever I plug my computer in with this adapter, the mouse becomes erratic. I can do basic navigation, then the cursor flips out and flies over what I'm about to click, so aiming for anything is like running on ice. I read a few things online as to what this is, and wound up updating my mouse driver and BIOS, even "releasing flea power" (Either I did it wrong or it didn't work) This has done nothing for this problem. I don't want to have to replace this computer. This is a Dell Inspiron N5110

i was watching family guy in the kitchen today and when i plugged the laptop back into the AC adapter it just shut down,
i attempted to restart but it will not boot up at all ive attempted to take the battery out and then try with that however nothing happens at all any ideas on what ive done and how to fix it?

I knew that the Nvidia GPU triggered only when a 3D graphics heavy application is loaded. It is. But I only get a bad 3D rating (1 star or so) while playing the game.
I've configured the Nvidia 3D program setting and also on a high performance battery plan. The Nvidia notification icon tray is also show that the game is loaded using the Nvidia GPU.
On other hand, when the laptop is plugged in, I get a best 3D rating on the same game. How is it possible?
It is not comfortable due to the fact that I have to plug in the laptop whenever I want to play the game to get the best performance.

My Z510 has been randomly shutting down when plugged in, but doesn't have this issue when running on battery. I contacted Lenovo and they sent my a new power supply but the issue continues. I called again and they instructed me to repair-install the Lenovo power manager and do a disk check. The issue still continues.
It used to happen when running something intensive like photoshop or a game and only if charging over 75%, but now it'll happen randomly. I can be sitting staring at the laptop with no programs running and it'll shut down.

I also have 20DM-000VUS, not sure about the original BIOS version though since I downgraded using the files on the Lenovo site (but definitely downgraded).
I just got my laptop back from the shop and Ive been running it for ~1 hour now and so far so good. The shop replaced Power and IO Subcards "FRU 00HN613 and FRU 00HN612".
Now the left USB is not working at all. Afaik it was also replaced. Already talked to the shop and I have to take the laptop back, they will replace it again.

I just got my new Dell Inspiron 5523 laptop last week and have noticed that it will frequently just shut down on me. It isn't plugged in, doesn't feel hot and I don't even have anything up but IE. What is going on? A brand new laptop shouldn't be acting this way...

My 15Z touchscreen works intermittently. It will be working just fine, then it starts to take a second to respond. Then it stops responding at all. Then it starts working again. I cannot identify any pattern to it.

I've had this laptop for the best part of two months now and it has been excellent up to now. However, it has now shut down completely 4 times within the same day - with absolutely no warning. It doesn't feel as if it has overheated but I'm only touching the outer shell.

after reinstall, about 3 weeks ago when i played game i get my CPU and Mainboard to 90C. In 2 minutes, my computer shut down, i tried to start computer by power button, but it shut down in 1 sec... just flashing. After 1 minute i started computer..I upgraded BIOS, install recommended drivers also i have cooling pad which i using on HDDs.
OS: Windows 8 x64..I think it's HDD or Mainboard overheating or maybe CPU, because it has 85C too.

i have an inspiron 1420, and want to bring it around school, i usually use it as a desktop at home using an external monitor(FN + F8), for some reason my laptop only works when plugged with a monitor, the laptop monitor is blank but you can see light at least, but no images whatsoever. I got it to work after reformatting the second time but not the 3rd 4th or 5th time.
I've noticed something strange though when formatting with xp, the letters were both gray and red, and when it gets to the page with the estimation(usually about 30 minutes) the picture quality was crap like 4bit.
I've noticed that when i successfully got the laptop monitor working the picture quality ran at a full 32bit

Recently, I have a problem with my Dell Inspiron 1420 as it's often freeze and auto shut down or restart. When it freezes, my screen will appear many small black pixels which are scattered around the desktop.
During the restart process, the system will require me to choose one of the few options available (eg. Start Windows Normally) as it stated there that the laptop was not shut down properly.
Remarks: My Dell Inspiron 1420 is equipped with NVidea 8400M GS.

My Inspiron 15 3521 just started with the boot problems and beeping. It is not consistent in when it will boot up. If it doesn't boot up, which is most of the time, it will beep. One single beep about every 2 seconds with a black screen, until I power it off. I have run hardware diagnostics and it passed. I have refreshed my pc, didn't work.

I want to know how much it would cost to have my sound port / speaker port replaced on my Dell Inspiron 1750 Laptop. If you plug in speakers or a headset you have to wiggle the cord to hear anything but it keeps going out. So I'd need to send it in and have it fixed. I no longer have a warranty.

I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop with a Intel Celeron Processor and the past year my cpu has been overheating and eventually causing my laptop to shutoff. This happens a lot quicker if playing graphics intensive games or playing youtube videos. I want a processor that can handle playing games and videos.
Also, one thing I was thinking was that maybe a fan stopped working that is causing the CPU to over heat but when I run a Dell diagnostic no errors come up about a fan not working, so I'm thinking I just need to upgrade.

I have a Dell Inspiron 14x 5423 that will reboot/restart but will not shut down, sleep, or hibernate. The screen shows shutting down, the screen and the hard drive turns off, but the power light and fan stay on until the battery dies in the laptop. I hold the power button and everything shuts off. When booting, I do not get the windows improperly shut down error the I normally get when I just hold the power button to shut off the computer so I suspect the operating system is shut down! I have tried updating bios to A13, video drivers, Chipset drivers, and Windows 8.1, The laptop passes all diagnostics.I even tried admin command prompt and "shutdown /s /f /h 0" command with no different results. Changed all settings in Control Panel to enable sleep and/or hibernate. I downloaded KB hot-fix which says it is for Windows 7 as another test.

My laptop was working correctly and then I booted up one day, the bios worked fine but then the screen went black. I connected an external monitor to the lap-top and the laptop display works fine. As soon as I remove the external monitor, again, I get a black screen on my lap-top.
I have run the full system option of the Dell diagnostics and have 2 errors, battery and dvd flash rom. I have ordered a new battery. I have also noticed that my lap-top does appear to get quite hot.

I have a Dell Inspiron 15 (N5040) and currently having problems with it. I was watching something this morning and suddenly the screen turned green and then shut off. It turns on but the screen refuses to. I first expected that the screen is just unplugged inside the computer so I tried to hook it up to my TV via Hdmi and oddly it didn't do anything.I took it all apart disconnecting everything and then reconnecting everything. Everything seemed to be in good shape. No signs of shorts. Then after letting it run I noticed it beep 4 times. According to Dell 4 beeps mean "Read/Write error." I don't know if they meant the ram or hdd so I tried isolating both sticks of ram and no difference. I tried putting in two different hdds, nothing different. Even if they were I don't know why the screen wouldn't turn on and the bios wouldn't try to load. I suspect that the gpu is just fried. Dell Inspiron 15 (N5040), Intel i3, 8 gb of ram. Windows 7.

The screen does work in "safe mode", so the screen is functioning. It might be something with the graphics settings (I use a separate screen on this computer often). Step-by-step procedure to run in safe mode to check out the problem?
