Dell :: Mouse Doesn't Respond 6400
Jun 8, 2009I have a werid problem with my mouse. It like it has a mind of its own or doesnt respond when I use it.
I reinstalled the drivers and I am still having the problem.

Jan 16, 2009My MacBook Pro is behaving funny after wrestling with my wife. Unfortunately the laptop was on a table side when my wife jumped on me and we were wrestling away.
She got my arm and twisted it behind my back i was desparate to get out of the arm bar and neck choke she was applying on me. In desparation I got out of her dealy UFC choke but as a consequence I kicked the laptop off the table by accident.
The laptop flew a few metres and landed hard on the floor. As you could see, this is no way to treat the laptop. Now my laptop is behaving strangely the mouse doesn't respond as it used to.
Will this be covered under warranty?
Acer :: Keyboard/Touchpad Doesn't Respond When Booting
Jan 5, 2008I've got an acer aspire 5672 and I can't get passed my login screen anymore. The keyboard and touchpad do not respond.
I tried in safe mode and there they do.
There was one time where they did respond but then they stopped right after loggin in.
The system seems to keep running though, as the cursor blinks etc, it's just that I cannot do anything.
As it does work in safe mode, it must be a software thing, no?

Dec 19, 2014I have a Dell Latitude E5520 and lately it has been extremely slow, and characters on screen tend to lag far behind my keystrokes occasionally not appearing at all. Sometimes when I click on a button it will lag for several seconds and then go through, other times nothing will happen at all and I will have to click the button again and it works. Recently the laptop was taken on a plane and the in-flight wifi was used, that is the only thing done recently outside of the normal routine.
I have booted into safe mode and the lag still occurs. I have antivirus software installed and up to date.Â

Oct 18, 2013I recently purchased a new Inspiron 15 7000 (7537) with Windows 8.  I'm getting used to Windows 8, but really struggling with the integrated touchpad.  It's getting so frustrating I'm considering returning it.  The problems are hard to pin down, but in general:
-I often get the right click shortcut menu, when I'm just trying to click. Â I've even changed both the right and left hand buttons to both be "click" (and neither be shortcut menu), but I still get the shortcut menu a lot.
-Sometimes the cursor gets stuck and doesn't respond to movements. Â I've tried adjusting the touch sensitivity and disabled palm detection. Â No change.

Dec 19, 2008So my laptop has been taking a crap lately. First the power supply broke and had to get a new one and now the battery is down to 30-40 minutes. I bought a 9 cell battery off ebay and just got it in. I plugged it in and the laptop says "Battery not recognized, will not charge." Whats up with it? Is there a way to get it charging? I don't have the money to buy the $200 battery from Dell.

I've been trying to boot Driveimage from CD to do an offline backup, and guess what, it wouldnt recognise the CD as bootable. Fixed that by setting the boot type to "Legacy" in the BIOS and it boots fine.

My problem is that the mouse doesnt work after booting from the CD. Watching the behaviour of the mouse, it powers up when I press the power button, but powers off immediately the POST completes.

If booting Windows from the HD, power to USB is restored as soon as windows loads to the lock screen.

May 23, 2009My friend's macbook (white plastic, 2.0, napa/core2 before santa rosa platform) isn't starting, and I have no idea why. He initially asked me to replace the top and bottom casing. I accepted, and ordered the parts. Around the time they were supposed to come, I took the computer apart completely (required for the repair), but one of the parts was delayed, so the computer sat splayed on my desk for a week. I didn't exactly stack textbooks on it, but it also wasn't covered in anti-static wrap. So, now, I finally got the part and put it back together, and the computer doesn't start. At all. The screen doesn't go grey, the 'sleep' light doesn't turn on, the fan doesn't start - nothing. The magsafe light is green, so the power is going in. It's also worth noting that I have no battery for it, so it's all on A/C.
Does anyone know what's wrong? My two hypothetical solutions are (a) I need a battery, or (b) the logic board is dead due to static.
How likely are each of these scenarios - especially the logic board one? How possible is it that it was static overloaded?

Jun 19, 2008i have a ACER Travelmate 2482WXMi, i have done a fresh install of windows XP home, i have done a full format of the hard drive, but i have issues the touchpad will not work only in safe mode. I have installed most of the drivers through safe mode, but the mouse will only work when i connect an external mouse when it's in normal mode.
Also i do get some bad sectors on the hard drive, and it takes over 2mins to shut down the comp. I havent installed programs yet, except PC Wizard 2008. Also the laptop is not the base model with 512MB ram i have added a 1gb stick and it works fine. I am thinking maybe its the hard drive. If

Apr 19, 2010Really odd issue. My touchpad does not respond at all after I wake the computer from sleep mode. The mouse buttons do not work and the touchpad is completely impossible to get to move. The only solution is to shut down the computer entirely and turn it back on.
Does anyone else have this issue? I've re-installed the mouse drivers and it keeps doing it. There is no way to re-create the problem; it just happens totally randomly (and usually very inconveniently).

Mar 14, 2013I have a Studio 1737 running Windows Vista Home Service Pack 2. I'm running the latest BIOS and all of my drivers are up to date.
When the AC adapter is unplugged and I'm running on battery power the whole system lags. It also turns of when unplugged without warning after about 15 minutes.
Also, I get these error messages in my event viewer a couple of times an hour:

Mar 30, 2013Laptop 3 years old and touchpad slowly stopped responding one night.
Downloaded new driver (ALPS Touchpad v7.1007.115.102. A05) no less than 3 times and had a partial success. Now right half of touchpad is ok but left half can only respond to up/down finger movements.
Run Dell diagnostics and all hardware is ok.
Run a full antiVirus scan and ok. Laptop says new driver is ok and running ok.
Touchpad does not work in BIOS and done a full diagnostic check and said the touchpad is fine!
Use of mouse is ok so not the end of the world!
Back to factory settings?
Acer Aspire E1-572-6829 :: Pc Is In Sleep Mode But Will Not Respond?
Oct 14, 2014When I am working on my laptop off battery power and I shut the monitor without shutting the pc down, at times it seems like the pc is in sleep mode but will not respond. I have to (I guess you would call it hard start it), reboot it to get it working again. Usually the screen is black when I reopen my laptop. Today, browser was barely visible. What is going on with my pc?

A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows is collecting more information about the problem.
Another thing, i know how to unhide the 'PQSERVICE' partition, but i'm wondering if it's possible to create these discs directly from the partition without the need for the faulty 'eRecovery Management'. If yes, how?

Dec 14, 2014My keyboard has started being erratic and not responding when some keys are pressed. I use the notebook mostly as a docking station, with a larger monitor and separate keyboard, so it's not an issue of the keys being misused or over-used. It's not related (as far as I can determine) to caps lock or any interference with USBs. It happens when I'm booting up as well as when I'm typing in a document and with nothing attached to the computer other than the power cable.
